Beachside Fun with Modern Flair. Located 83 miles south of Los Angeles and 35 miles north of San Diego, Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort is situated at the base of Southern California’s longest active recreational pier and across from some of Southern California's most beautiful beaches. “Active” certainly describes all the delightful choices here! Oceanside’s nostalgic feel and idyllic weather draw plenty of surfers and artists; yet this thriving community includes plenty of modern delights, too. Enjoy a variety of live entertainment throughout the year at the amphitheater located across the street on the beach. Transportation couldn't be easier with the Oceanside train depot two blocks away providing service to San Diego and Los Angeles (as a result, minor train noise can be heard throughout the resort). Enhance your romantic retreat or family gathering in a place as warm and inviting as the California sun and surf itself!

At Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort, panoramic views of the coastline can be enjoyed by guests from the Sky Lounges on the 7th floor of each tower. Ocean View rooms offer views of the coastline from either the north- or south-facing balconies and from various vantage points within the room. Ocean Front rooms provide beautiful views from the balcony facing west.

Southern California Beach Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (twin teen boys & Mom & Dad) had an awesome time in the Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort. We had a great 2BR suite on the 6th floor with a northern view that included the beach. The resort is very close to the beach (right across the street) and the beach is gorgeous - no sea wrack, very wide, clean sand. The resort is right beside the long fishing pier (poles for rent and bait for sale on the pier!) and on either side of the pier the waves are perfect for surfing (our sons got their first surfing lessons).

The suite was very spacious, with a large living room, a great booth and chair type eating area, two great bedrooms & bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, and a balcony. The washer and dryer were very heavily used during our two week stay and allowed us to pack less!

We typically cooked breakfast in the suite and headed out to the beach or other activities - if we went to the beach we usually prepared lunch in the suite and then went out for dinner - this really reduced food costs.

There are lots of great eating choices within walking distance - Petite Madeline, Hello Betty, ZigZag Pizza and 333 were all very close and are recommended - and about a 15-20 minute walk north along the beach there is also a cluster of restaurants - Oceanside Broiler had great food and a nice view of the small boat harbor, Joe's Crab Shack had great inexpensive family seafood (warning - if you elect to buy a picture pay CASH).

The resort itself is clean, modern and has a very friendly staff - there are activities daily - examples include a $5 breakfast, afternoon ice cream sundae parties, evening Italian dinner, and mosaic making - a nice way to meet others. There is a pool - not huge but fine for kids - and a great deck area to relax after visiting the beach (there are showers in the 2nd floor restroom to wash off the sand). A really nice feature is that there are two suites reserved for general use on the 7th floor facing the ocean - was a great spot to sit with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset.

The fact that this is a Wyndham property instead of a house rental really takes a lot of the uncertainty away from booking a VRBO - you can confirm your reservation with the resort, you are dealing with a major corporation, and any issues are just a phone call away and usually resolved within the hour.

Nearby there are lots of recreation opportunities - just south on I-5 there is a great watersports area called Carlsbad Lagoon (jet ski's = fun). Enjoy!

Perfect Family Vacation at the Wyndham in Oceanside.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week at the Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort. Everything was spotless when we arrived and the property and rooms were beyond well maintained. Our family of 6 (kids 9, 7, 2 and 2 month old baby) had plenty of space in the 2 rooms, and it was great having a washer and dryer so we didn't have to return home with a mountain of laundry. Even though the resort is large, it's an easy elevator ride up from the parking garage to the rooms.

The pool was fantastic with perfect views of the ocean. We spend the better part of a day there when the weather was overcast so it was nice to have a hot tub. The beach is a quick walk down the hill (i recommend going north of the pier--less crowded and better sand). The Pier was fun for the kids--we rented fishing poles one day, ate at Ruby's, and enjoyed taking pics next to the resident pelican). We also rented bikes and ate at the fish taco stand right below the Pier (both just steps from the hotel). Downtown Oceanside was a short walk away, and we went to a movie and tried a few restaurants which were all great. The Pizza place at the Wyndham was quite good.

You will hear the train coming through every hour or so, which our 2 year old loved. We planned our riding the train down to carlsbad village but never got around to doing so...

Finally, renting from Dr. Vic couldn't have been easier, more convenient, or more straight forward. He took care of everything, followed through with everything promised, and was always very responsive. I will definitely rent from him again and have already recommended him to friends and family.

The best hotel we've been in so far

  • 5 of 5

Amazing hotel. The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious. Staff was really polite and understanding. When they saw that we came with a handicapped person they gave us a room that was ready and more accessible. Have a lot of places to go in and by the hotel even in the evening. We will definitely like to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. Dr Vic was a pleasure to work with. The room was spacious and very clean. The w/d was a great addition. Staff was attentive to all our needs when we needed them. Kitchen was big enough to make meals with plates and utensils. Only unattended at the pool all the time, timeshare hounded daily by phone and we asked for a ocean view weeks in advanced but were placed in a pool level corner unit with the only view was that of the pool visitors sitting 5 feet off our patio. Ez walk to the beach and pier.

Had a relaxing time in Oceanside

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Dr. Vic. Being that this was my first experience renting via the Internet I didn't know what to expect. The place was nicer than the description. My family and friends had a very relaxing stay at your condo. It was nice to get out of the Arizona heat and just enjoy the view and cool air from the balcony. The condo had everything we needed to be able to cook our own dinners so there was no reason to leave or eat out unless we wanted to. Hopefully we can do this again for a few more days next year?

Suggestion: The Concierge is really a timeshare sales person disguised as a concierge. They were getting awfully pushy. I just wanted to relax and didn't want to have to sit through a sales pitch. They need to know when to back off.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. It will be my pleasure to get you something for next year as well. This resort is managed by Wyndham which has its own Pros and Cons. It is professionally managed and you get best of both worlds: Home like spacious condo with Kitchen as well as all hotel facilities and amenities. The negative side is that Wyndham has sales team on site and they try to do hard-sell on new guests to sell timeshare ownerships. I apologize for this...
