My husband and I stayed at Sunshine Retreat for two weeks and it was perfect! Close to WCU which was the main reason we picked it so we can watch our daughter play volleyball. The house had everything we needed and loved the layout as you felt like it was so much bigger! The back porch was wonderful for eating and making s’mores! So excited we are staying again in October!
Perfect spot to be close to WCU for parent’s weekend! Close to campus and Sylva. House was very clean and open floor plan. Enjoyed covered back deck! We walked on the greenway (Locust Creek access) - 5 min. drive from the house. Quiet and peaceful spot.
The house was great! We were there for the WCU football game. Our child is a freshman in the Pride of the Mountain marching band. We will absolutely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay here! We were very pleased with how clean the property was and how spacious it was! Everything was great and enjoyable! We enjoyed the fire place out back, such a nice, quiet, atmosphere! We hope to be back soon!
Our stay there was perfect for our purposes. We had a little problem with the grill propane supply, and getting the right app for tv viewing, but everything else was great!
The property was spotless. The kitchen was easy to work in. The well water was refreshing to drink. The property was conveniently located to Western Carolina University where we were visiting our granddaughter, we would use this property again.
This place is objectively the cleanest, most pleasant, comfortable, and welcoming place I have stayed in the area. We have a project in the area that brings us in frequently and from now on I will always check to see if this place is available. It has established itself as my favorite in Sylva. I appreciate the home away from home.
We stayed for the weekend to attend our daughter’s graduation from WCU. It was a lovely home. It was very clean and accommodating. WiFi was a little spotty but we knew that before staying there.
Great little cabin with close proximity to WCU and other area attractions
We came to the area to bring our son to camp at WCU and stayed in this precious cabin. The pictures online accurately reflect the cabin and it was perfect. The decor warm and cozy and very clean. It was perfect for our trip. We did several day trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway and explored the little towns in Jackson County. It was also nice that the host had a rack of pamphlets and brochures about the surrounding areas as we ended up using some of this information to plan meals and excursions. I would definitely stay here again.
This property is excellent for a couple or other adults with a king bed in each bedroom. Pictures were very accurate. The steep stairs to upstairs bedrooms could be issue if you have knee trouble. Kitchen is great but missing some things you might want to bring- regular coffee maker and blender. The house was spotless- very clean! Nice having washer/dryer on site. The covered deck is a peaceful place to sit and enjoy nature sounds. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Communication was easy and quick responses!
