Luxury Lodge on Creek with Trout Pond- Easy Access!

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

I sincerely apologize for starting off the description this way, but I am not the best with computers and the vrbo website. The rates for the cabin are $195 per night for normal nights with a 3 day minimum. The Holiday and Apple Festival weekends are $235 per night witha 4 night minimum stay. I do not take automatic payments because the cabin is my own personal second home and call me old fashion, but I like to talk to people before renting to them. I am very accessible, open and up front, so send me an email and ask any question you may have.

Something for everyone.

Bear Mountain Lodge is located in the North Georgia Mountains in Ellijay, GA. The lodge is situated on over 2 acres surrounded by Georgia National Wildlife Management and is directly on Turniptown Creek. Bear Mountain Lodge is surrounded by water. It has over 1,000' of creek frontage and a privately stocked trout pond. The lodge is located 6 miles from the town of Ellijay. It is easily accessible with plenty of parking.

There is something for everyone here at Bear Mountain Lodge. From listening to the tranquility of the creek on any of the 3 porches to trout fishing, biking and hiking. There is plenty of room both inside and out for little ones to run around. The front yard is over a half acre that is flat and perfect for young, old or in between to stretch out and play. Nearby there is everything from rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking and golfing to fine dining and antique shopping.

The lodge boasts a gorgeous family room with soaring ceilings and a beautiful rock fireplace. It has a fully equipped modern kitchen complete with an island and wet bar. There are 3 large bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. There is one King bed, one Queen, 2 sets of bunks with 2 twin beds and 2 full. The lodge also has a large front deck with creek and mountain views, a screened-in porch off the master bedroom and a balcony off of the guest bedroom.

We stayed there for 5 nights and this place exceeded all of our expectations. The kids had blast of a time: fishing, exploring the creek, playing soccer, football, badminton and water guns. The cabin is spacious and comfortable and has everything that you may need, but what makes this place so special is the natural setting. It is very private and secluded and surrounded by the creek on one side , pond on the other and forest on the back. We spent most of our time outside by the creek , around the fire pit and had a wonderful time. The owner was very easy going and responsive via emails. We would love to come again and according to my kids this was: ...the best vacation ever, way better than Disney.

Great for families

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time staying at this property. We never left during our stay. The guys enjoyed fishing and the kids loved playing in the creek. The yard is perfect for the kids to play and adults too. There is so much room to play. We had soccer games, wiffle ball tournaments, played croquet and had fun playing corn hole. The house is fantastic. The kids had their own room with 2 sets of bunks. The kitchen had every thing we needed, pots, pans, plates, knives, cooking utensils etc. The owner is so easy to work with. Overall, excellent stay! We can't wait to come back!

Great Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

Two families rented this property for Spring Break - 4 adults and 5 children slept comfortably. The property is beautiful as is the home. It exceeded our expectations. The owner was easy to work with and answered our questions promptly. The pond was stocked with trout and everyone had fun fishing, exploring and relaxing. If we vacation in the area again, we are sure to try and stay here again!

Great cabin for trout fishing, relaxing and outdoor fun

  • 4 of 5

We had 6 fisherman staying in this cabin where we spent many hours trout fishing in the pond. We did fly fishing but the pond is pretty open to allow for any type of fishing gear. We caught over 10 trout where some were up to 14-16 inches (catch-release of course). We cooked in the kitchen which had all of the needed pans, pots, utensils, coffee machine, microwave (not working at the time but Owner said he'd repair it), convection oven and charcoal grill. There is a king bedroom with bath, Queen bedroom sharing a full bath with the 3rd bedroom housing 2 bunkbeds (Double on bottom and twin top). Overall the cabin was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed watching football games on the satellite TV. Outside the front yard is massive with flat land that allowed us to play bocce ball. The stream in front produced a few native trout so some fishing areas possible. Vallero gas/convenience store with BBQ restaurant is located about 5 miles from the cabin for fast shopping or food. We'd recommend this to anyone wanting to fish or family/friend time in a quite setting in the Ellijay mountains.

Best Place Hands Down

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying at this property. It is hands down the best place you can choose in the Ellijay / Blue Ridge area. The pond is loaded with rainbow trout that will bite all day and night. Our kids had a blast fishing and playing in the creek with the waterfalls and small swimming holes. This is one of the few places you will find in the mountains with tons of flat open land to let your kids play on. There is a huge deck to unwind and relax on listening to the creek rushing just a little ways away. The rooms are huge and the main area of the cabin is wide open with a very welcoming feel. Very clean property as well inside and out. The owner is friendly, always available, and responds quickly with any questions you might have. Stop looking and go with this cabin as you will not be disapointed.
