About Brian and Cindy Saunders
Our family began enjoying the Ellijay area in 1999 and purchased Coldwater Cabin in 2000. Fun filled weekends, creek adventures and fires at night while listening to the noisy water have created many special memories for our family that will last a lifetime. We are happy to share this same opportunity and experience with you.

Why Brian and Cindy Saunders chose Ellijay
The attraction to Coldwater Cabin is the special escape it offers us from our busy lives in the city. We love the natural surroundings and sound of moving water as well as the convenient access to so many different nearby activities such as Carter's Lake. The short drive (just over an hour) from Atlanta to Coldwater is an added bonus.
What makes this Cabin unique
Coldwater is nestled in a very private area and surrounded by the sounds of nature and the noisy water of Mountaintown Creek moving over rocks. This setting along with a warm, rustic cabin decor is the perfect combination. At the cabin, we feel you are transported away from it all.....to a place of peacefulness, relaxation and beauty that is hard to find in a metropolitan area.

Wonderful Cabin Getaway
Perfect place for a weekend get away. We had a wonderful time relaxing on the back porch and even caught a few trout in nearby Mountain Town creek. Would definitely recommend!!
Thank you for sharing about your experience while staying with us at Coldwater Cabin. We totally agree that the cabin is a perfect getaway place. We are glad to hear you spent time on the porch and very excited about your score for fishing in the creek! We appreciate having guests like you and do hope you will return again soon for another visit!
Beautiful cabin in a perfect setting
PROS: The cabin was beautiful and well maintained sitting just above a small creek. It was a short drive to Ellijay and Blue Ridge for shopping and dinner and very close to both the AT and Benton MacKaye trails for some great day hikes. The owners were extremely accommodating and very friendly and even called us on our first day to ensure evening thing was as expected.
CON: Only one. The parking was tight turning around in a full-sized truck but this would not deter me from stating here again.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and also choosing to stay with us! We realize there are lots of choices out there and really appreciate guests such as you. We are happy to hear you had a wonderful stay and do hope you will return to visit with us again soon!
Love the pot belly porch stove. It kept us nice and cozy while listening to the river rapids. Everything there you need and works perfectly. We had a great time. Thank you
We are happy to hear you had a great visit! The stove on the porch is a definite source of enjoyment. It was good to have you stay with us and we hope you return again soon! Thank you for choosing to stay with us!
PERFECT relaxing getaway!
We LOVED this cabin and want to go back. Perfectly secluded with a great view and peaceful sound of the creek. We enjoyed the outdoor stove and grill. We think the new lower deck would be a perfect place for a hot tub! That was our only wish for this property. It was also very well stocked with everything we needed from detergent to linens to aluminum foil!
We are thrilled to hear you loved the cabin. Thank you for sharing! It is great for us, as well as future guests, to know about the experiences of our previous guests. It is awesome to arrive, relax, take in nature and leave refreshed. We are in the planning stages of turning the new lower deck into another place to unwind, so stay tuned! Thank you again for staying with us. We appreciate having guests like you and do hope you will return again soon.
Everything was as described in the overview and the pictures are current. The kitchen is fully stocked and had everything we needed to cook multiple meals and everything was in excellent condition.
We used the stove on the porch and loved it! Even though it was very cold when we stayed, it put off enough heat that we were able to stay outside at night.
The entire house was spotless and well maintained. Plenty of linens and comfy blankets on the couches. We used the washer and dryer which worked well.
The creek is at the front door and the sound of it was very calming and peaceful. I could sit on that porch for hours.
Satellite and WiFi worked well.
Owners are very responsive and called to greet us when we arrived.
There are cabins around but it still has a secluded feel. Restaurants and stores 10 minutes or so away. Definitely recommend staying here.
We really appreciate having you as a guest and also for sharing your feedback! Enjoying that stove on the deck while listening to the rushing water is something we also love to do. We are happy it kept you warm on those freezing cold nights! Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope you return again soon for another stay. The other seasons offer awesome experiences!
