Charming and cozy 1920's bungalow with mountain views. Pet-friendly

Charming bungalow with spacious back deck and front porch to take in Balsam Mountain views. Guests appreciate the convenience of being within a 5-minute stroll to historic Hazelwood Village, a .9 mile walk to lively downtown Waynesville, 15 minutes from the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and a 35-minute (30 mile) drive to downtown Asheville. We are located on a quiet side street with a spacious fenced in yard for those staying with children or pets. Guests enjoy relaxing on the front porch rockers and taking in a beautiful mountain sunsets or dining on the generous back deck. After a day of hiking, sightseeing, or antiquing enjoy dinner at one of the many Waynesville restaurants, from upscale gourmet to casual and relaxed. The Balsam Black Bear offers a primary suite w/ensuite double vanity bath and ample closet space. The secondary bedroom/office consists of an ensuite bath and queen size pullout. A double pullout is also available in the living area. There is a large well stocked kitchen complete with Keurig coffee maker, air-fryer, microwave, and gas range. This 1920's charmer is a sun filled space with beautiful heart of pine floors, Roku Smart TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu. All amenities are provided. Two night minimum stay. We look forward to hosting you.

This bungalow was a perfect fit for me and my pups. The fenced yard with Mountain Views was great. The house had everything needed for my month stay. The location was amazing…loved walking to Main Street for dinner and a couple of blocks for morning coffee. Don was friendly and welcoming. He made great suggestions for local places to enjoy a meal or a brew.

Great guests that had to deal with some unforeseen obstacles caused be me (the owner) but they rose to the occasion. They are welcome back anytime. The place was immaculate when we returned. Communication was great and they went above and beyond what we expected in turns of bedware, hosue clean-up and garbage.

The host was very welcoming. He sent us messages before we arrived to make sure qe had good directions and got tjere safely. He also sent us messages during our stay to make we were having a good time without being overbearing. The pictures and amenties were as stated. Enjoyed the games, well-stocked kitchen and location of house. Convenient to Maggie Valley and very close to Downtown and surrounding areas of Waynesville. Also, some shops and restraurants right down the street within walking distance. Overall, we had a really good time.

Beautiful mountain home

We had a great stay! We loved taking in the mountain views and the proximity to downtown was a plus. The hosts were great and did everything they could to set us up for an enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend!

Our house was extremely clean upon arrival which included our entire walkway being swept clean of pebbles. The dishwasher had been loaded and run and all towels were neatly stacked together. We couldn't have asked for better guests. You are welcome back any time Maurine.

Perfect Getaway

Awesome place

Great location to adventure with family. We have a toddler and it was great. The house was immaculate and it shows they care. The fenced in back yard was clutch for our 3 year old. 11/10 would highly recommended.

I'm a local from Waynesville and love my hometown. We stay close by (Asheville) when our home is rented and therefore it has a comfy lived-in feel and we can solve any problem almost instantaneously.

Great views of the Balsam Mtns from most rooms in the house along with the front porch and back deck. The house is on a quiet side street with minimal car traffic which makes it quiet and a great place to walk.
