What more could you want from a vacation rental then a beautiful Mediterranean inspired canal home nestled into the private North End of Anna Maria Island? Mediterranean Canal Retreat is the perfect escape for those looking to relax enveloped in the simplicity and peacefulness that is Anna Maria. This four bedroom, two bathroom home has a spacious and fully equipped kitchen and large area for entertaining or relaxing, a heated pool and dock with gorgeous views of our luscious mangrove landscape. Too much sun by the beach or pool? Relax under one of the covered porches and let your worries fade away. In the mood for a little entertainment? You are just a short trip to Anna Maria's newest boutique district on historic Pine Avenue and some of the best restaurants on the island! Or take a short stroll to the beach to dip your toes in our sparkling turquoise waters and stroll along our sugar white sand. Mediterranean elegance meets Old Florida paradise at Mediterranean Canal Retreat.

*Please note that the spa is not heated separately from the pool. The temperature is the same as the pool temperature.*

***OVERCROWDING CONSEQUENCES***
Maximum occupancy of rental homes on Anna Maria Island are set by the Cities and are strictly enforced. An occupant is any person staying overnight, regardless of the number of nights. Due to recent issues of overcrowding in the area, if maximum occupancy is exceeded during your stay, a $1000 (one thousand dollar) overcrowding fee will be charged to the payment method on file and your party will be immediately evicted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation to keep Anna Maria Island enjoyable for everyone.

Has everything

This property has everything. 5 Minute walk to beach, 1 minute golf cart ride. The pool was fantastic, the a/c was cold! New TV's, nice appliances and plenty of room. Garage door opener and access to garage parking was a bonus. This was our first canal rental. It added a whole new experience. We found a large bull shark tooth right off the dock. We rented a second kayak, saw manatees and lots of wildlife. Lots of extras only negatives were the kayak had a leak in it, none of the fishing rods worked.

Nature Preserve

Can’t say enough about the property. The house met all our needs. Kitchen was well stocked. The beach supplies, including the fishing equipment, were a big plus. (We did leave a couple new rods). Caught many fish species off the dock and saw such a great variety of wildlife, that it felt like we were at a zoo. The manatee came by a couple times as well as a shark. The bird life was amazing. We had an Anhinga (snake bird) come out from under the dock. Tree crabs were a new animal I had never seen before and the little lizards were very entertaining. The quick walk to the beach was nice. Overall the island is nice, but I would suggest avoiding during spring break. The restaurant waits were 2+ hours and traffic getting around was a bit much. I would highly suggest hitting the farm market that is held every Tuesday.

Fantastic home in an amazing location.

Anna Maria island is a small paradise and this home made it amazing for my family and I! Their playroom downstairs was nothing but fun for us all. The home comes with a canoe and Kayak which were a lot of fun in the water ways feet from the back of the house. Not to mention the fishing with poles in the home as well.. All in all, we will be returning!!

Great location!

The house which is located on the north west of the island is great and very quiet. Recent remodel made it even better than advertised. Our stay was very relaxing. I would say that y’all need to check the spices before shopping, there were pleanty! Loved our week there!

Great location….needs some uplifts

We really loved this property, however we would have liked to see the following: 1) fully functioning microwave 2) beach chairs that were not broken 3) showers that drained correctly 4) non-moldy shower curtains It has a great location, just needs a little TLC!

Overall great experience

We love Anna Maria Island and rent a property every year for our family. This rental was in a great location and had plenty of room for everyone. The home itself is beautiful, but the furnishings could use updating as well as the carpet. We were very disappointed that the Spa was not really a spa in that you could not turn up the temperature and there were no jets. The listing should be updated to clarify.

Amazing location on Anna Maria Island

This property has it all. Great location, clean, amenities and quiet place to relax and play. Directly on the canal in a quiet cul de sac but super close to walk to the ocean. Ample space with 2 king beds and 2 rooms that have 2 single beds. Big kitchen with lots of plates and cups and pots and pans. Beautiful pool and hot tub with ping pong table on lower level. Lots of beach and pool toys as well as coolers and chairs. Beach chairs could use an upgrade. Not the most comfortable but usable. Great stay with kids or no kids.

Wonderful Stay

We were 2 couples and the house was very spacious . The master bedrooms on either side of the house worked very well. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and all the necessary kitchen appliances. We enjoyed the pool lounge furniture and the pool felt warm but we did not go in. It was nice to have a dock and kayaks if we wanted to do that. It would have been nice to have a gas grill although we used the charcoal one and it was fine. I would have given the property a 5 in all categories but the bedroom carpeting was in need of shampooing. Overall very nice.

Quiet and relaxing

We come to Anna Maria yearly. This house had plenty of space and was nice and clean. The pool had many toys for kids and was great for swimming after the beach. The beach was about a 5 min walk not too bad at all. I would say you need to rent a car or golf cart to go to the restaurants and grocery store. We have a car but some of our favorite places were a bit too far of a walk in the heat of June. I would recommend this house especially if you don’t plan on eating out majority of your meals. The kitchen was very well stocked and has everything you will need.

318 Iris, AMI in March

This home provides the most wonderful view of the canals/lake at the north end of AMI. In March it was a bit cold for enjoying the pool, but I enjoyed kayaking in the canals every day that the weather was good. I have not have such good kayaking in many years. It was very easy to bicycle from this location to the AMI Community Center, where I enjoyed Tai Chi classes, and the many stores and restaurants in AMI. Thsi is a quiet area.

Comfortable house in idyllic setting.

Ideally located, five minutes walk to the beach on the north end of the island, eight minutes walk to shops and restaurants, with dock access to the canal. This house worked for different family groups that came over our one month rental. We enjoyed the kayaks and the canoe, including one exciting dolphin encounter in the middle of seven dolphins!

Beautiful property with so much to offer .

Superbly presented property, in great condition, location and has everything that you would need. We even had an added bonus of a Heron that appeared to believe that it was a pet dog. Super stay and comes very highly recommended.

Paradise!!

The only way I can describe our stay in the Mediterranean Canal Retreat is paradise! It was everything that we hoped it would be and nothing disappointed. There was everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. We were particularly blown away with the outdoors. The pool was perfect as it always had both sun and shade, depending on your preference and deck meant that we were able to enjoy watching the local wildlife. The deck was a perfect place to fish and very successful spot! We also had many manatees swimming past!! This we were never bored of! the deck was ideal for either taking out the kayaks and we also hired a speedboat for a few days which moored perfectly and was easily accessible to the sea through the bayou. We had the extra bonus of kayaks, Canadian Canoebikes and some basic fishing equipment for use within the property. The living and dining area was perfect for a large group and we particularly enjoyed the sunny deck for relaxing and dining too! Each morning, you could relax with a coffee and watch the sun rise over the bayou and trees! It was also the perfect place to enjoy late evening, listening to the sights and sounds and we loved watching the lightning moving across the bay. We were a party of 8 with 2 families travelling together. The whole layout of the house lended itself perfectly to this. A king size room and twin room were located on either side of the house along with a bathroom for each family. This suited us perfectly! At no point was it too small and there was always space to relax. It was clean, tidy and well maintained. All facilities were of a high standard and it had a particularly good wifi signal. As all of the main living areas are on the first floor, guests with limited mobility may find the stairs too difficult to manage but for us this was never an issue. The only possible way the property could be improved is by the addition of a pool level bathroom and a fridge/ BBQ prep area but this was only because it was so relaxing enjoying the sun that it was difficult to motivate yourself to move to the 1st floor!! Anna Maria is complete paradise and when we return in the future, we would definitely love to stay in this gorgeous house and location again! SATO gets an A+ on the Mediterrean Canal Retreat

What a lovely experience on the north end of AMI! Check in was on time (3PM), quick and easy and with a gift shell bag with starter kitchen soap, DW soap, laundry detergent and a sponge- thank you! The condo was immaculate. The 4 BR, 2 BR included kayaks, a ping pong table, an extra dryer downstairs to dry towels, a lovely pool and dock. There were plenty of fishing rods and beach toys. Everything in the kitchen was labeled so easy to find. The upstairs porch had a great view and we saw plenty of birds. The condo had a nice gathering area for visiting and plenty of seating. upstairs and by the pool. The condo was a few easy blocks to the beach access and we rented a golf cart for the week that made it easy to get to restaurants. We loved the Ugly Grouper with grandchildren and the donut shop on Pine plus great meals at the Sandbar, Beach House and Rod n Reel Pier. Thanks for a great experience!

Great location!

We visited AMI for a week in late May and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the pool daily and grilled out several times. There was an abundant supply of beach towels and some beach toys that had seem some use but still fun. Easy walk to the North end (best end) of the beach too. The screened in porch is great for family dinners or just relaxing. Some might find the elevated house cumbersome as the grilling and pool area are on the ground level while the rest of the house is one floor up. I would suggest an investment in the property interior. The furniture is older and the kitchen, while fully functional, lacks modern finishes that are typical in houses we have rented in the past. Overall a great stay!
