When I first saw the listing, I thought the place looked beautiful, and I really loved that it was only about a 1–2 minute walk from the beach. The location was definitely the best part of our stay.Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected our experience. When we arrived, we noticed ants on the floor near the back patio. The back door was also extremely difficult to open. I messaged the host to ask if there was a trick to getting it open, but I never received a response.The sofa and bed were both very uncomfortable, and we found what appeared to be dog hair all over the bed when we arrived. We also discovered that several dishes had been put away dirty, so we had to wash them before using them.Communication with the host was disappointing. Before our trip, I asked for recommendations on restaurants since it was our first time visiting Alabama. I didn’t receive a response until about a day before we arrived, which wasn’t very helpful for planning.Overall, the location was excellent and the property looked nice, but the lack of responsiveness, cleanliness issues, and comfort of the furnishings made our stay less enjoyable. I would rate the cleanliness as average and encourage the host to improve communication and pay closer attention to housekeeping.
