Grand Lake Lakefront Cabin-Private Beach, Pet & Kid Friendly!

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

Single Family Home: 4 Bedrooms 3 Bathrooms (sleeps 10-11)

Welcome to Frog Hollow! Enjoy your mountain summer vacation in this wonderful private beachfront cabin! This house is rustic and well loved, and has been enjoyed for 3 generations of family! Many guests have come back summer after summer to this happy home-away-from-home.

Right on the Eastern shore of Grand Lake, about 1 mile from the charming town of Grand Lake, the house is dog and kid friendly too.

Your group of mountain adventurers and lake lovers will enjoy this comfortable, roomy and warm get away! The views from the entire house are second to none, you'll relish in the gorgeous mountain vistas every day and stunning sunsets every evening.

Right on the property enjoy any and all water activities! Bring your kayak, canoe, sailboat, motorboat or jet ski! Shallow water is accessible via the sandy beach, just steps away from the door! Or relax on the large deck and simply watch all the action... highly reommended...especially with a cool drink in hand!

If you have a larger boat, the house is walking distance to the Public Boat Launch/Dock at the East end of the Lake. Boats can be stored on trailers in that lot overnight (not on the property). There is NOT a dock at the house.

Bring along your fishing gear and fish for Kokanne salmon, rainbow, brown, brook and lake trout right at the beach or a few yards away in the East Inlet. Bring that big one home for dinner and BBQ it right on the deck.

Grand Lake Treasure

  • 5 of 5

We've been guests at this home for over ten years and look forward to bringing our friends, family and, of course, our dogs each year. There is nothing pretentious about this home and that's why its so comfortable for us. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and the the bathrooms are clean. We appreciate the recent effort the family has undertaken to upgrade the water filtration system and remove the stains. Some of our favorite memories have been made around the dining room table while playing cards, savoring a great dinner or just chatting. The access to the water is perfect for our kayaking family and our dogs and the shallow water at the east end is a bonus. We like being at the quiet end of the lake where the wildlife is very comfortable visiting with us. This year we had moose, a fox, and those crazy hummingbirds! We've seen bears in the past but not this time.

Great Getaway for Family Fun

  • 4 of 5

We love this property. It's located on the private and secluded eastern shore of Grand Lake, with terrific views and short walk to a great hiking trail. The kitchen-dining-living room space is all open, which makes meal prep and serving an easy and collaborative activity for a large family. The home is a little rustic, and the carpet and plumbing is badly stained, but it is comfortable and relaxing. The large fireplace in the living room really works-- it throws out great heat on chilly Colorado nites. Our kids had a great time, and our labrador could not have been happier. We'll be back!

Great Location. Cabin not quite up to par.

  • 4 of 5

The location and privacy couldn't have been better. The cabin could stand some updating however. Directions weren't too clear, so took a little while to locate. We were the first summer renters, and the cabin wasn't cleaned very well before we arrived. Enjoyed time on the lake and in town. Nice drive through the Rocky Mountain National Park and other nearby sites.

Amazing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time!! The house was comfy without the feeling you would mess something up. It rained off and on for 2 days of our stay and with all the windows we enjoyed that as much as the nice days. There were plenty of beds and rooms for all of our people. My dog loved the lake access and so did the kids. There is plenty to do around the cabin. An excellent time was had by ALL!!!

Week on the water

  • 4 of 5

Can't beat location right on the water. We fit two families of 5 very comfortably. Make sure you bring your kayak, paddle boards, etc to utilize the water access! House does allow pets, so allergies could be an issue for some visitors - it was fine for us. Great time overall.

Best place for a quiet week

  • 5 of 5

This property was exactly what I was looking for. All the comforts of home without being so fancy you don't feel comfortable. The beds were great! We all slept so sound. The kitchen is well equipped with all the basics, we only had 3 adults and a baby but there is a huge table that can seat a large group. The living area is nice and big with several different areas to curl up if you want to relax with a book but not be away from everyone. The wall of windows looking out at the lake was nice when it was too cold to sit outside to watch the sunset over the mountains. The deck is a great place to sit and get out of the sun or rain without having to go inside. It was extremely quiet during the week where we didn't see anyone other than a few guys who came to the house next door to use the dock to go fishing. On trash day we did get a visit from a black bear at dusk who took a stroll down the driveway, across the back deck, back down the driveway to the neighbors house and then back up from the neighbors through the lake and over the fence to the other neighbors house. We did have the windows open to the house at the time it was on the deck but there didn't seem to be any interest in getting in, I really think it was just the smell of trash day that had him out looking for some scraps. Luckily the sightings were limited to one day only. We did enjoy having our own little beach where we could leave our kayaks out without having to worry about them. There were a couple yellow labs that came into the yard several different days but we never did find out who they belonged to. Cell reception is spotty but I was just fine with that since the goal was to get away and relax. It's a pretty easy walk into town with one hilly part and just around the corner from the entrance into Adam Falls which is beautiful - just try to go early in the day during the week to avoid most of the crowds. I would definitely recommend this property as a great place to relax with plenty of options to occupy the restless. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat!
