Our Beachside carriage home with waterviews in historic Mattapoisett Village is located just across the street from Barstow Wharf and Town Beach. Imagine starting your day on the NEW DECK off the Master bedroom enjoying a spectacular sunrise over the harbor. Just across the street is Town beach with lifeguards, swimming dock, swing sets, a bath house and the perfect place to find a piece of sea glass. Or enjoy a stroll through the charming village, taking in historic homes from 18th & 19th century whaling and shipbuilding days. If you're feeling energetic, take a bike ride to Fairhaven on the Bike Path, or a run to Ned's Point Lighthouse. There's also boating, sightseeing, tennis, golf, shopping and dining opportunities - the day is yours! You may want to kick back and enjoy the sea breezes on the NEW WRAP AROUND PORCH. However you choose to spend your day, we encourage you to be back in time to enjoy a glorious sunset from either the new porch, new deck or patio. "Mother of Pearl" time on the harbor is magical!

Our restored 1800s carriage home has plenty of space for couples, families and groups to relax and reconnect. The open floor plan provides several sitting areas inside as well as waterviews and lots of seating on the porch, deck and patio. We strive to provide our guests with what they need for a wonderful vacation: bikes, beach chairs, cooler, new gas grill, books, games, wifi and information on local restaurants and suggested day trips.

The house has central A/C, lots of great light from windows and skylights, hardwood floors throughout, a large, well equipped eat in kitchen. The dining table comfortably sits eight. The first floor bedroom with double bed has an en suite bathroom. The upstairs Master with king bed enjoys waterviews, an en suite bathroom and private deck. Two additional bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed, share a 'jack and jill' bathroom. Renovations include newly painted walls, trim, doors and ceilings, new light fixtures, recessed lighting, new windows, new skylights, new doors, new rugs & furniture. There is a full size washer and dryer for guests to use, another half bath and a great flat yard for relaxing or playing family games. Our outdoor shower is a family favorite!

We are steps from Shipyard Park and the main town wharfs where you will find boating activities, Wednesday night band concerts, festivals, restaurants, a general store, the ice cream slip, spa, shops and a Historical Museum. Kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and fishing are available nearby or plan a day trip to Boston, Providence, Plymouth, New Bedford, Newport, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.

We encourage you to read reviews from past guests who share what they enjoy about Mattapoisett, our property and the personal touches we provide, including upgraded linens, kitchen supplies, local information and games.

We have enjoyed hosting family reunions, groups attending local weddings, family summer vacations as well as romantic weekend getaways for two. We welcome you to celebrate at our Treasure by the Sea!

A great location with a lovely view, and the addition of the porch makes it so easy to enjoy the view. Beautiful property, well appointed and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay.

Beautifully Renovated Beach House Enjoyed by All

  • 5 of 5

Jeff and Lauren,

Your home exceeded all expectations. It was warm, inviting and spacious. The main level open floor plan flowed nicely and was conducive to entertaining. The quirkiness of the half bath and laundry/mud room added much charm. The color scheme throughout your home was beautiful and calming. The new additions were spectacular. The new wrap around deck added so much space to be enjoyed by all. The view off of the new master bedroom deck was breathtaking. The addition of dormers in the upstairs bedrooms gave you a lot more square footage. We were able to put up port a cribs no problem at all and still had ample space to move about. All rooms were just lovely. Your home was the best stocked and most equipped house we have ever stayed in. I had brought many essentials ( extra t.p., paper towels, kitchen and trash bags etc.) and needed none of them. I also had packed wine glasses and left them in the car. The kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of plates, silverware and yes wine glasses. There was absolutely everything you could possibly need. We felt welcome from the moment we reached out to you to rent your home and felt like family once we arrived. The welcome note and wine were a lovely gesture. We loved our stay and plan on returning very soon for a couples golf getaway. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Wonderful Week in Mattapoisett!

  • 5 of 5

Three generations of our family enjoyed a wonderful week in Mattapoisett. The house easily accommodated our large family along with a small dog and the owner was very responsive to all inquiries we had. The large yard and spacious porches provided lots of space with beautiful views and the short walk to the town beach and harbor made this a perfect spot to host our young grandchild. We were very grateful that the home was air-conditioned, as it turned out to be. an abnormally hot week.

Wonderful house. Well equipped. Wonderful town

  • 5 of 5

Great house! Well equipped. We were there for a regatta and it was perfect. The boat was right in front of the house. Our ages were 80 to 2 and the house met all our needs ( including puzzles for 2 year olds). We had a wonderful time. Thank you Jeff and Lauren

Great Weekend, Wonderful Home and Owners

  • 5 of 5

This house was truly perfect. My family and another rented this home while in town for a local event and it was absolutely gorgeous. The owners were responsive and a pleasure to deal with, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend. The kitchen, bedrooms and layout of the overall home is really great, and we're looking forward to spending another weekend next fall,

Historic Mattapoisett is a charming, traditional old whaling village located an hour south of Boston and 45 minutes north of Providence and Newport, Rhode Island. Access to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket & Plymouth is easy by car, ferry and boat. There are plenty of wonderful day trips to plan as well as enough relaxing activities to do right here. Take time to relax at town beach, directly across the street or enjoy the harbor views and watch the boating activity right from the front yard. Mattapoisett has many wonderful restaurants to enjoy, a bike trail, weekly summer band concerts & various festivals throughout the year. There are tennis courts in town, several golf courses in the areas as well as local kayak and boat rentals.

Here's a portion of an article recently published in the Boston Globe about Mattapoisett: "Go East, young man (And Woman). And just before you reach Cape Cod, you'll find the quaint seaside village of Mattapoisett. The area smacks of Old New England, Yankee fishing villages with narrow streets, tall proud homes and gulls o'er the rooftops. The best part of the area is it's natural beauty: the mouth of the harbor, the expanse of ocean, the wharf, the boats, the birds. Smell the ocean. Look for sea glass. Skip rocks. Take photos. Bring your bike, your kids, your kayak. Bring a football, a Frisbee, a kite. Or just bring a cup of coffee and look out over the water. Mattapoisett's Water Street, in particular, is gorgeous, no matter the time of year, with ocean views along the entire length. Ned's Point at Veteran's Memorial Park is a stunning swath of shore and meadow to picnic, toss a ball, fly a kite, windsurf or watch the sun go down beyond majestic Ned's Point Lighthouse. Built during the heyday of the whaling era, circa 1838, the stone tower at the entrance to Mattapoisett Harbor is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Another Mattapoisett landmark is the nearly 40-foot seahorse at the intersection of Rt. 6 and North Street. Dubbed "Salty the Seahorse" by locals, the roadside icon stands near Dunseith Gardens - a playground, garden and nature walk maintained by the Mattapoisett Land Trust."

Water Street, with the "gorgeous water views", is right in front of our home and all of these other places mentioned in the article are within walking distance of our "Treasure By The Sea."
