About The Owner

We moved from the bay area 11yrs ago and have not looked back

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2001

Why The Owner chose Portland

One day we went on a field trip with the kids class to the coast and played in the tide pools and later in the day were at the stream in the mountains after picking up excellent food in the city on our way up. Enough said.

What makes this apartment unique

You can enjoy as much city as you can handle or if you wish walk right up the road and be in Forest Park and completely isolated, fantastic.

Exactly what we needed

  • 5 of 5

My family was looking for a weekend getaway to Portland, for two adults, a 10 year old, and our dog. We wanted to be an easy walk to the fun stuff in the NW. Denny's apartment was perfect for us -- good size for our family, quiet location, but an easy walk to the good stuff. The bed and sofa bed were plenty comfy, and the heaters worked great despite the record cold weather. We really appreciated the extra dog towels and blanket too. Only caution is that there are stairs both to access the unit, and a few open stairs inside to get up to the bathroo and bedroom -- younger kids or those with balance/mobility issues should take a closer look before booking. Denny was responsive and helpful throughout the reservation process and during our stay. WiFi worked great, good enough for my son to stream his shows on the tablet.

Impressive Property

  • 5 of 5

This upscale property looks as if a modern designer came in and put everything in it's place. Not only was it styled to perfection, but it was clean, uncluttered with gorgeous views of fall trees, the city and of other beautiful homes. We have never been to Portland so we had no idea we had landed ourselves in such a coveted neighborhood as Nob Hill. We did not cook at all while we were there, we were on vacation after all! But just down the street, there are enough places to eat breakfast lunch and dinner. But the kitchen was spacious enough to do so if you wanted to while you were there. Very nice modern appliances. Beautiful shower. The windows were my favorite part of this place. Im really glad we rented a car for the entire stay. We drove to the coast and to the waterfalls so we needed a car for that. HIGHLY recommend driving out to Haystack Rock on the coast and hiking the falls. Two amazing experiences. We were told that the rail system was easy to use while you were in Portland, but if you are coming from a place where there isn't public transportation, it can be confusing and stressful so we decided not to mess with it. We used Uber twice which was super easy. Everytime we requested someone, a driver showed up within 5 minutes. Loved staying here. We will be

back.

**Just an FYI- I would not recommend this place for the elderly or for kids as it is almost always raining and there are steep steps up to the property and a steep path down to the front door of the house. It didn't bother us in the slightest but I can see how it would be problematic for others.

**Special thanks do Denny for communicating so quickly and easily with us during the reservation process and during our stay.

Great place - Loved it - Loved Portland

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful apartment in quiet, safe area with many nice homes and condos. Design and decor were really nice. The location is very close to the Japanese Gardens, zoo etc. Easy to get around from the apartment. Walking distance to a decent selection of restaurants, pubs, and a Trader Joes grocery store. Fully stocked and many amenities. My wife and I really loved our stay here.
