Each of the professionally decorated bedrooms has a king or queen size bed, en suite baths, a/c, fireplace, sitting area, and screened porch with stunning view. The heated swimming pool overlooking the beach and lake is delightful. The living room room is spacious and offers a front row seat to the sunset. The elegant dining room seats up to 16. The screened porch is the perfect spot to watch the surf and enjoy the sunset. The kitchen is as beautiful as it is practical. The professional grade Wolf range with griddle and double ovens is a chefs dream. Two oversized Miele refrigerators and large freezer hold platters and much more. Two ice makers and two dishwashers are very handy. The oversized natural quartzite island is a piece of art with abundant room for gathering. The artisan Amish cabinets contain every serving piece and appliance you need. The kitchens lake view is fabulous.

Absolutely Beautiful

Just returned from a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The property manager is so easy to work with and truly makes you feel at home. The house itself if stunning and the views amazing. Had multiple families with kids and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. The heated pool was a huge hit as well as being able to walk down to the beach. There was no need to leave the property!!!

Like your own private luxury oceanfront hotel

Our family of 13 from Chicago (ages 1-70) were looking for our first post-COVID vacation. This place was perfect and exceeded our expectations. This portion of beach was so much better than ones we have visited in Florida and elsewhere. It sits on an extended shallow portion of beach perfect for kids and is clean with relatively few other people around. The rooms and common spaces are all well appointed and comfortable. All rooms have private baths because the place was previously a B&B. The kitchen was spectacular. Our family cooks a lot and it allowed for 6+ people separately prepping food with plenty of space. Kathleen was attentive to all of our questions and requests, which helped greatly with the planning. We could not believe such a place existed so close to Chicago and we hope to return again next year.

Absolute Gem on Lake Michigan

Our extended family had the pleasure of staying at the Sandpiper for a week this past August. The booking process was easy, and communication with the letting agent fantastic. The property looked beautiful in the online pictures but it impressed us even more in person. Very large, bright, comfortable rooms throughout the house and the finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms were all at a very high standard. The kitchen was stocked with more amenities than my own home! There are a fair number of steps down to the Lake, but they are shallow, easy steps with a well thought-out bench halfway down for a rest if needed (for my 85 year old father!). We noticed that Sandpiper was one of the few homes along this stretch of Lake Michigan that still had plenty of sandy beach - high lake levels have swallowed the others further down the shoreline. We felt very lucky indeed to have spent a week of glorious summer in this spot and would rent again without question. Thank you Sandpiper!

Second stay as good as the first

My extended family of 17 stayed at Sandpiper for the week. We are ages 13-82. The house is perfection, cooked in a lot in the very large well-equipped gourmet kitchen. The rooms are huge and comfortable. We had great beach space this year, for which we feel fortunate. Kathleen, the property manager is available, communicates well, and is responsive. You will not be disappointed.

Wow, Sandpiper is a gorgeous house on a lovely beach in great area of Michigan. Everything about the house was head and shoulders above other homes I’ve rented: all beautifully decorated with everything you need including comfortable beds, luxury linens, lots of extra touches. Beach is all sand no rocks. Many excellent restaurants and shops nearby. It’s less than 2 hours from Chicago but feels like another world. Highly recommended

Three Generations of Fun

Our family stayed at the Sandpiper Inn at the end of July 2017 to celebrate my parents' 80th birthdays. We had a fantastic time, so much so, that my Dad wants to rent it again in 2 years. It is very clean, accommodates, 18 people very well, and is in a great location. As most of the area beaches in the area are struggling to keep their beaches with Lake Michigan being very high, this is a bit of an issue at Sandpiper as well. I would suggest that this photo with the beach stretching out is a few years old. Getting to the beach can be challenging because of the erosion, especially for the elderly. We were able to enjoy full beach days, though, and if you walk a little to the left or right, the beach is wider. Also, there is a great sunning area on the bluff which can accommodate everyone. The kitchen is amazing, fully stocked with all serving and eating needs. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was definitely our central gathering place. We had a few meals catered by Classic Catering, they were very accommodating and provided good food. Our entire family would highly recommend Sandpiper Inn for your vacation needs! Have fun!
