Not a hiker, well just take a quiet stroll through the park like setting along the level, tree canopied path with 200 ft of rushing stream bordered by National Forest along the back of property ...again, not a soul in sight. There is a fire pit, swing and benches there for your enjoyment . It's the perfect place to just sit and relax. With two porches and an upstairs screened balcony, you never have to leave the comfort of the cabin to enjoy the sights and sounds of the stream below. The cabin has two full baths (one upstairs and a smaller full bath downstairs). Clayton, Blairsville, and Helen are all within 20 miles of the cabin. Hightower Winery is 1/2 mile away, A/T trail head 1 1/2 to 2 miles by car. Completely furnished with everything you need. Come stay a week or a long weekend...you will never want to leave.

About Nancy J Wilson

My husband and I have been coming to the the North Georgia Mountain area for over 30 years and have always dreamed of having a place of our own. It's still hard to believe that this piece of heaven is actually ours. Many have shared theirs with us, now we hope to share ours with you.

Nancy J Wilson purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Nancy J Wilson chose Hiawassee

We love the North Georgia Mountain area.... the people, the scenery and there is always something to see or do.

What makes this cabin unique

The peaceful quiet woods with no visible house in sight. The sound of the stream is so relaxing. Several places to 'escape' from the crowd.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It snowed! What a lovely place! We enjoyed our stay and felt God in these peaceful mountains. The house continued to surprise with wonderful views from each room of the landscape, trees and mountains. A deep sigh of contentment escapes....what a lovely place.

Couldn’t have been any better! Close enough to town, but far enough away! Stream and woods surrounding property is just breathtaking. Be sure to take a walk up the road! Will stay here again!

Weekend Wedding Trip

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was awesome! It had everything we could have needed! It was COLD the weekend we stayed, so the boys couldn't explore the creek the way they wanted, but it was so nice to be able to hear the creek rushing behind the house. The owner was so nice when answering questions and responding to emails. I can honestly say that she is one of the nicest owners we have had the pleasure of interacting with on VRBO. We would certainly stay here again!

We loved our stay at your cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. The house was perfect, loved the porches (even in the rain). We were close enough to everything we wanted to do, but secluded enough to relax and unwind. We are already planning to return. Thanks for a wonderful home.

Awesome property - amazing getaway weekend

  • 5 of 5

This property is awesome - a true diamond in the rough, with the rough being the surrounding forests and hiking trails. Nancy has pretty much thought of EVERYTHING! There wasn't anything we found we wanted or needed over the weekend that Nancy hasn't already thought of in advance and provided. A very comfortable, homey, woodsy feel, but incredibly well-kept and clean. We absolutely loved the screened-in upper deck and the sound of the bubbling stream flowing by - what a way to spend a relaxing Saturday morning. The hiking that was as close as the end of the driveway gave us plenty of adventure on the approach up toward the Appalachian Trail at Cowart Gap. Or you can hike the forest service road and come out right at the Hikers Hostel. Sitting between Clayton and Hiawassee, we had an easy drive into Clayton for dinner the night we arrived and it was even closer to go into Hiawassee for groceries or Starbucks. We had a wonderful time for our much-needed getaway weekend - thank you, Nancy, for providing such a splendid place and allowing us the opportunity to use it!

We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit. First visit with the kids. As we expected, it was great! Kids had a ball playing in the stream, building fires, and roasting marshmallows. My son didn't want to go to bed the last night we were there because he didn't want the next day to come and have to leave. Already looking at calendar to book again. Nancy is awesome! Thank you!
