The relaxing atmosphere continues as you move out the back door onto the small patio with a propane grill, private hot tub that is perfectly situated to enjoy the northern view, and a marked trail leading to the National Forrest border.

Moose Crossing is our home. We have traveled all over the world, lived in many places, and explored spectacular natural environments, but none have called to us as strongly as this mountain retreat. It’s incredibly important to us that you enjoy the area as much as we do, which is why we’ve set up this location with everything you need to explore & have a comfortable, convenient stay! We are outdoor enthusiasts, dog lovers, and genuinely enjoy meeting people everywhere we go. It is our hope that you enjoy great hospitality not only at our cabin, but also throughout the community of Fairplay & the surrounding area. The town is quiet & slow, but that’s why we love it!

Couples/Friends get-a-way

Our stay was great. We enjoyed the privacy of the cabin. The location was great for us, as we were just relaxing and riding county roads to see the beautiful scenery of Colorado. We were super excited about seeing a momma moose and her twins in the front yard on two separate occasions. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone we know. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Fall into winter wonderland stay

First of the drive to the property was stunning as we were fortunate enough to catch the beginning of the Fall colors with one evening of snow fall that left the beautiful mountain tops covered in glistening white snow. The cabin was nicely nestled on the edge of Browns pass so lots of wildlife could be captured throughout our stay. The cabin was clean and organized with basic essentials. All the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Easy access to town and surrounding areas. Our family enjoyed the cozy fireplace for the mornings were brisk. The front views were spectacular. I enjoyed the gas stove for cooking all our meals. Loved the cozy kitchen with a big farm sink. Our fur baby had a blast on all the local trails that where minutes away from the cabin. We did journey over to Breckenridge for the day stopping off at Blue lake trail for a hike around the lake. I thank the VRBO host for offering their home for us to stay. It was a very welcomed get away. :-)

Last Minute Cancellation

We weren’t able to actually stay at the property as they canceled the morning of our trip. While frustrating, they did offer a backup that was not taken but appreciated.
