The newly remodeled log cabin is on two heavily wooded acres and backs to 35 acre undeveloped parcels, providing complete privacy. It has a sunny, open floor plan. The home features a spacious loft bedroom upstairs with a skylight for star gazing from your very comfortable queen sized bed, and a private balcony. Quality linens, cozy comforters, and plenty of throw blankets in all bedrooms help ensure a good night's sleep . Dressers in every bedroom make it easy to unpack and make yourself at home. There are two bedrooms on the main level. The master bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, and the small bedroom has a comfortable 8' double size futon. The living room offers hard wood floors, a new wood burning stove with a large glass front to view the fire, and a two story vaulted ceiling with big windows providing outstanding views and to surround the home in warm, natural sunlight. It opens onto a large deck with a six person hot tub to enjoy the amazing mountain views. Although the cabin has a rustic feel, the tastefully decorated cabin is very comfortable and updated. The fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, granite tile counter tops, and wood island provides all you will need to prepare gourmet meals. The travertine tiled bathroom has a bathtub with yet another window with a view! Create your own adventure exploring the two wooded acres, or walk a short distance to National Forest trails. Snowshoe, ski, hike or bike right from the cabin, and try out the sledding hill! Be sure to walk to the alpine meadow to treat yourself to one of the best alpenglow displays in Colorado….you’ll have mountains surrounding you in every direction! You’ll often see elk, deer, and even moose if you take a stroll at sunrise or sunset.
If you decide to stay in, the cabin has everything you’ll need to relax…music (cd player/stereo and a guitar), books, games, and videos. If you can pull yourself away from the warm glow of the fire and star filled sky (no light pollution to obstruct them!), there are some wonderful restaurants, shops, wine tasting, galleries, and live music in the town of Fairplay, just minutes away. Classes in art, jewelry making, and beading are available in town. The nearby historic ghost town of South Park can be visited summer-autumn. The charming Victorian town of Breckenridge, known for its world class skiing, is full of restaurants, shops, and night life, and is just 25 minutes away. It also has a full cultural program in the summer with wonderful outdoor concerts. Cottonwood Hot Springs are a short drive away. Aspen Vista is open year round for you to enjoy a quiet retreat in all seasons. If you are looking for something for the kids to do in warmer weather, they'll love the big playground, skate park and sandy 'beach' in Alma just about 10 minutes away.
This is our family cabin that we only rent when we are not using it, so it should have everything you need for a very peaceful and comfortable stay. We love the cabin and area and are happy to offer lots of information about the surrounding area that only locals know about (special trails, unique fishing spots, etc).
NO SMOKING OF ANY TYPE IS ALLOWED IN CABIN OR ON PROPERTY.

About Karen Beesley
We love the mountains, outdoor adventure, and peace & quiet. We found all of these things at the Aspen Vista. It is incredible to find a spot that is so secluded and private. We have spent endless week-ends exploring the rocky mountains the last 15 years, and when we saw this property, we knew in an instant this was the spot we wanted to spend our free time. With every week-end, we discover a new trail and new adventure. It is amazing to us how much there is to do in the area...and how wonderful it is to do nothing but enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cabin, maybe just taking a stroll amid the mountains surrounding the alpine field or throwing some horse shoes.

Why Karen Beesley chose Fairplay
We traveled around Colorado for over 10 years before deciding on this unique cabin and area. It's wonderful for outdoor adventure in all seasons. From the door you can have fun biking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and never have to get in your car. We love all the wildlife we see nearly every visit (elk, deer, and once even a moose)! We love the Colorado outdoors, and this is the perfect place to enjoy so many adventures without crowds. We have spent endless week-ends exploring the rocky mountains the last 15 years, and when we saw this property, we knew in an instant this was the spot we wanted to spend our free time. It is amazing to us how much there is to do in the area...and how wonderful it is to do nothing but enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cabin, maybe just taking a stroll amid the mountains surrounding the alpine field or throwing some horse shoes. This is truly a little slice of heaven.
What makes this Cabin unique
Although our lot is two acres, the lots around us are 35 acres and untouched (and national forest on the other side of those!), so we get access to miles of open space outside our door! You will not find a another spot this quiet.

Amazing little house with views
This house is all we needed for a disconnected vacation. Just enough reception to make phone calle and email. Very relaxing and the views are amazing. Thanks for the quick stay.
Very cute cabin, well set up.
Would diffently go again. Thank you.
WONDERFUL PLACE TO RELAX AND RESET!
Nice quiet cabin, backs up to a huge open area. It's great to sit at the end of the dining table in the morning with a cup of coffee, and just stare out the windows and enjoy the scenery. Saw a red fox come up the trail and pass right under the window. Loved being in the hot tub during the day checking out the snow capped mountains or at night enjoying the stars. Less than a mile away from national forest trails. Slept in the loft with our heads under the skylight and falling asleep under the twinkling lights.
Had such a wonderful weekend! Karen was beyond helpful all the way from Guatemala! Cabin was so well kept and the property is perfectly secluded and a great place to go just to get away.
The Perfect Getaway Cabin
We had the best time in this cabin! It’s secluded enough to feel like you have your own private retreat in the mountains, but is also only a 10 minute drive into Fairplay and a 40 minute drive to Breckenridge. The cabin itself has a fully stocked kitchen, which was perfect for cooking meals throughout our stay. We loved all the game and puzzle options - it kept us entertained on snowy days and kept us focused on spending quality time together. We would highly recommend this place if you’re looking to relax and spend quality time in the mountains!
So happy you enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin and the time to reconnect with family! Hope you can make it back!
Serene cabin with outstanding hot tub
The cabin was a wonderful break from an otherwise busy vacation, it allowed us to slow down and enjoy the beauty and wildlife the area has to offer.
Happy you enjoyed it!
GREAT fishing nearby.

Additional information about rental rates
Pets are welcome, but allowed ONLY if approved in advance for a $25 per pet fee for the first night and $10 each night after. Pets must be well behaved, house trained, and must not chew or scratch furniture. Pets are not allowed on furniture, especially beds. Pets cannot be left alone in the cabin unless in a kennel. Guests must vacuum up dog hair and pick up after their pets on property. Holidays rates may be higher. Maximum number of guests is 6; charge increases $10 per person per night for every guest after 4 week-days. If you have more guests or a pet that you do not tell us about, you may lose your damage deposit. You may inquire about waiving cleaning fee if you would like to clean the cabin yourself; this is only under special circumstances. If this option is approved, you would clean the cabin for yourself after the previous guest has left. Some holiday week-ends require a three night minimum stay. If you need to cancel, we cannot refund your deposit unless we are able to rent the dates we have held for you. We will make every effort to re-book the dates we have held for you. There will be a $50 administrative fee if you need to cancel. Although we rent our cabin for just one night during the week, we will usually not rent for just one night on week-ends unless one of the nights is already rented. You are welcome to ask. In the winter months and in September, we are often at our cabin on week-ends, so we will often only rent on winter week-ends if your stay is four or more nights. There are always exceptions to this, so please ask before submitting payment. We are happy to share information on our favorite trails and things to do in the area. Check out time 11:00 a.m.
