This 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit features tile floors throughout, a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, high definition flat screen TV's in all three bedrooms and another in the living room with DVD player, three balconies with views of the beach and/or pool. Great for families, couples vacation or girls/guys beach trip, comfortable accommodating 10 people! (Condo regulations stipulate that two of the 10 have to be minors.)
The main floor bedrooms are large and accommodate four people each with two queen size beds in each spacious room. One main floor bedroom has its own private balcony overlooking the pool. Up stair is the master with a queen size bed and a private balcony overlooking the pool and beach. While the living area is furnished with comfortable leather couches, HD flat screen television with cable and a DVD player, puzzles, board games, cards and a balcony over-looking the beach and pool. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, dishes, utensils, bar tools, beach dishes, thermal picnic basket and an ice chest for your convenience. We have added a propane grill out on the balcony for BBQ epicureans.
We have included a beach basket with beach towels and toys for adults and children alike. As well as, 8 chaise lounges and a beach umbrella and 13 foot canopy for your use on the beach.
The condominium management offers 10 foot canopies with 4 chairs, for a fee of $30 per day. This fee is paid directly to the management, we have nothing to do with it...but we certainly enjoy the service!
The newly renovated Bahia Mar Beach Resort is a 24/7 gated, secure resort, located directly on the beach. The grounds are spacious and beautifully landscaped, with two brand new pools featuring heated spas and a children’s pool, as well as, a playground for the children. Enjoy a walk through the fountain studded gardens or partake in a game of tennis at one of the three lighted Bahia Mar tennis courts. Relax and enjoy peace of mind, as the Island breezes and the gentle sound of the waves lull your body, mind and spirit into a peaceful state of relaxation. Beach chairs, chaise lounges and umbrellas are available for rent directly on the beach; while plush couches and chaise lounges line the beachfront boardwalk for your use, free of charge on a first come basis.
The Bahia Mar is a walk-up condominium.
Come and relax with friends and family or enjoy one of the many attractions available on the island! Off-site bird and turtle watching, and beach four wheeling are popular island activities. Other activities include horseback riding and the Laguna Madre Nature trail.
Be sure and visit historical Port Isabel. There are museums and the 100-year-old Port Isabel lighthouse. Port Isabel has many cute little shops including antiques and art galleries. Also, Just a 30 minute drive to Brownsville is one of the top zoos in the country - The Gladys Porter Zoo.
Water activities include Schlitterbahn Beach Water Park, dolphin watch, boogie boarding, snorkeling and scuba, surfing and sailboat rental. For the fisherman in the family there is bay fishing, deep sea fishing, fishing at the jetties, pier, surf and fly fishing.
You can be as active as you would like or just lay back and relax. We hope you will come and enjoy all the island and our condominium have to offer!

Great location, very comfortable condominium, we will go back!
The owner was very easy to work with and very accommodating. Comfortable condominium with good amenities. Everything seem to be in good working order and clean. The kids enjoyed the toys supplied by the owner. We loved the boardwalk in the evenings.
Nice views of the beach and pool.
This condo is close to the beach and is very well stocked with beach toys, chairs and just about anything you might want while spending a day on the beach. The condo itself is comfortable and has a nice view of the swimming pool and beach. There were 8 of us and we did not feel cramped for space. The dining table seats 6 and is great for late night card games. This condo is a winner!

The place has no sprinklers. Which is fine for a 1991 vintage place but when there are non functioning electrical outlets it made me worry. An electrical outlet was hanging from the wall in the kitchen when we arrived (exposed wires) and at least 2 other outlets were intermittent in service. I reported these to the main office. There was no action to fix during the next 2 days we stayed ("ok... we will tell the owner.").
The upstairs sink drained very very slow (reported and not fixed). The bathtub drain failed the night before we left and we had 12" of water still in the tub the day we left. It was apparent that the tub drain had not been properly repaired in the past... one screw was missing and the other was held in place with silicone caulk.
The particle board cabinet drawer in the kitchen broke when opened the first time (also reported/not fixed).
if we get our deposit back, and the fact we didn't have an electrical fire we will probably call this a successful vacation.
So far, 18 days and no deposit refund, and no response as to why.
Beautiful pool. beautiful landscaping, good security. good trash management.
Deposit was returned, less 1/4 for damages, check was cashed. This amount was actually less than the actual cost for repairs.
Slide locks were torn off two doors, wood front on drawer looks like someone sat on it, or something, while it was in the cabinet. It wasn't broken at the joint, the actual wood piece was broken at jagged angles through the front board. Drains were clogged, and several other issue that were not that way when the renter arrived. They never once contacted me about any problems while in the condo. I received a call from the management handy man, after they left, stating the last renters left a list of repairs to be taken care of. Surprise! This was a first.
To be honest and fair, I was a little later than normal getting their deposit back to them, my agreement states 14 days, I did explained I was waiting for the condo to be checked for any issues. Then waiting for repair costs. We have never dealt with anything like this in the past and hope never to have to in the future. These were the most destructive renters I have ever had, including Spring Breakers. I have pictures and receipts to document everything. VRBO investigated and found in our favor. I feel this is a negative review from a disgruntled, abusive renter. Incidences like this tend to take the fun out of enjoying the vacation rental experience. I do enjoy interacting with my renters when needed or requested and sharing in the excitement and fun of their beach vacation.
All damage to the condo has been repaired.
Great amenities and location!
The Bahia Mar property is beautiful, wonderfully maintained and perfectly located right on the beach! The view from all three balconies was great and the condo was very spacious. We had plenty of room with the 5 queen sized beds. The condo itself could use some updating but it was clean and comfortable. I would definitely book this condo again next summer! The pool was huge and beautiful but just wish it was heated. Also there are nice canopies and chairs you can rent on the beach for $30/day. Well worth it!
Good location and sleeps 10, but...
We have stayed in many SPI condo units and this was by far the smallest from a living space perspective. Although it sleeps 10 easily, the living space would not accommodate 10. Not that you can change that, just sharing information.
This unit needs a deep clean and some maintenance attention. The carpet on the stairs is filthy, there is mold in the chalk around the kitchen sink, food spills along the side of refrigerator and on wall where the garbage can sits. Additionally the electrical outlet is pulled out of the wall in the kitchen and there are small black ants on the counters. We had to keep all open food in microwave or oven because they will find their way into the smallest crevice.
Upstairs room by far is the cleanest and the supplemental air is great. Master bedroom was fine. The front bedroom is warmer with a fan to supplement, but the electrical fan needs to be cleaned. One of the mattresses needs to be replaced, as it sags in the middle and squeaks when you move.
Lastly, just my opinion, but I would prefer to rent a tent or bring my own tent and toys instead of having things I store in my garage inside the unit. Maybe one tent or umbrella would be fine, but it looked like every left behind toy was stored in the unit. Same for the multitudes of leftover condiments in the refrigerator.
Wow! I am so sorry! I have not been there since the beginning of summer. I am sorry your experience with us was unacceptable. I have a cleaning lady come in after every guest; she normally does a good job. You are right, there is not much I can do about the size of the living room, it is a pretty standard shotgun condo layout, and it is exactly as the pictures you previewed before renting show. I can certainly take care of the cleanliness and will do so post haste. As far as the bed goes, it sounds like the center support leg may have come off. I will have it checked right away. The socket in the kitchen should have already been taken care of, maintenance was informed and paid. I will take care of that as well. The condo is fumigated at least once a month and more often during the summer. It is very difficult when you are in such close proximity with multiple units. If everyone doesn’t fumigate it is an uphill battle.
Some people like having the condiments there, I have had people tell me they were appreciative they were there, they are not an assortment of leftovers, but rather a selection purchased specifically for the convenience and use of people staying at the condo. By the end of the season the beach toy situation can turn into a mix of what was purchased by us and what was donated to the collection by renters. Many toys get lost and new ones appear. Most all of them are in good shape and are appreciated by those with children, especially younger ones. I clean out and restock each time I go down. We strive to run a tight ship with happy renters and have been pretty successful, until now. Our concept is to help make our renters stay a vacation, not a chore, having to bring everything from home. Most of them do not frequent SPI as often. Many, in fact most, would rather use the canopy and chaise lounges we supply, which are more comfortable than sitting in one of the upright camping chairs that come with the rented canopies. Not to mention, many people prefer to save the $30-$35/day for other uses. Yes, ideally a garage is the perfect place to keep beach equipment, unfortunately, being a typical beach condo, alas, there is no garage. Again, I am terrible sorry, we normally have good results and happy renters! I do appreciate knowing when things are not A1, thank you for your information, even if it was painful. This is exactly what worried me about allowing you to enter early. I will address these issues right away.
We stayed in this rental in August of this year. There were 7 adults and 3 kids. We had a good time, the walk to the beach isn't bad at all, wish I would have brought more towels! (there are 10 there) I did wash a couple of times, and that's a little inconvenient, but oh well. The owner was very very gracious and accomodating. She was always just a call or text away trying to solve whatever issue. The water pressure was almost completely shut down for 2 days due to the whole complex, and we were compensated for that by the owner, which was fabulous. All in all, it was a great price, great owner, just smaller than our family needs.

I appreciate your understanding! Sounds like a house is what you all need for your group. I certainly understand that! ;-)
