Relaxing cape week

We had a great time at James place! It was very clean and exactly as described. Very close pleasant walk down a sandy path to the beach. Neighborhood was so nice. It’s been the favorite place we’ve stayed on the cape! Would definitely come back.

The best cottage and location!

We love the Curlew Cottage. Every year, it's clean, cozy, and comfortable for our vacation. The location is perfect, walking and riding bikes distance to the private beach and First Encounter and Bee's River. It's a 10-15 min drive to the ocean beaches. It's also close to many other perfect attractions. We feel at home here now. The hosts are available for any issues that come up and genuinely care for you to have a comfortable, enjoyable vacation!

Beautiful location

We love the Curlew cottage. It is a short walk to a private beach on the bay side. Another longer walk or short bike ride to First Encounter beach. It's quiet and safe area for kids to bike around. The water is warm and the tide goes out for a while so kids can swim without the drop in depth. The ocean is a 10 min drive or beautiful bike ride on the national seashore pathway. We love it here!

Beautiful 3 bedroom cottage short walk to the beach

The cottage is beautiful. It had lots of space for my 3 adult children and 1 friend. The kitchen is clean and practical and the deck is big and shaded. We loved playing games on the deck and walking to the beach. We would love to return next year.

A Great Cape Cottage!

Our family loved staying at Curlew Cottage! It has the relaxed, Cape-y feeling that we want on vacation and a terrific back patio for relaxing after a day at the beach. Being able to walk such a short distance to the bay/beach was a huge bonus (as was the washer dryer)!

Cozy little cottage!

Our son and daughter-in-law and their two children stayed for 5 nights in Curlew Cottage. We had rented another house for the rest of our family as we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. The cottage is obviously well loved and cared for. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood off the beaten path. They were quite comfortable there and appreciated the privacy. The walk to the beach is about two blocks. James was very helpful and attentive when I had confusion about dates.

cozy, convenient getaway spot

This was our 3rd year staying at Curlew cottage. We keep coming back because of its smart layout and its great location (minutes to Bay, easy bike/walk to ponds, short bike/drive to ocean). Our family of four, including two teenage girls, fits comfortably in the house. Any more adults might be a bit crowded. The owner is very responsive to any issues, and has continually made upgrades that have made our visits even more comfortable.

Perfect in every way!

I've stayed on this part of the Cape many times, but this was my first at Curlew Cottage, and it won't be my last! It was perfect for our party of two moms and two young boys. As highlighted, the bayside beach is a very short walk away and ideal for small children, with gentle lapping surf at high tide and miles and miles of tide pools at low tide. You're so close that it's easy to run back and grab whatever you've forgotten for the day. Perfect sunsets every night to enjoy with a cocktail! Then some of the most beautiful ocean beaches in the world are a short drive away. You're also a short drive from anything you could want to eat or do, but you feel like you're miles away from the hustle and bustle. The cottage is adorable and very well appointed, and makes the most of its smallish space. The extra half bath and outdoor shower are a plus after a day at the beach! The owner James could not have been more responsive and helpful with my (several) silly questions (how do you get the cable to work, etc.) and promptly mailed me an incidental item left behind. We can't wait to go back!!!

Beautiful cottage

We stayed at this cottage recently with our 2 small kids and had a blast. The proximity to the beach can’t be beat. The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We loved coffee on the front porch in the mornings and post beach BBQ’s in the evenings. Great updates and well maintained!! We can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic

We come to Cape Cod every year (since 1995) to enjoy the Cape and visit with our family. It is the highlight of our year. We have stayed at many cottages throughout the years and the Curlew Cottage is at the top of our list. We had one of our best times this year and a lot of it had to do with the charming cottage. It is ideally located near the beach, where we spend most of our days. The cozy cottage offered us all the amenities we require and than some. Great Cottage! A 10!!

great location, bright airy house, small but efficient use of space

This is the second year our family of 4 stayed for a week at Curlew cottage, and we were not disappointed. We especially enjoyed the 3 minute walk to the bay, as well as the cottage's brightness and its cozy- yet-not-cramped layout. The outdoor shower is a treat. We used it as our regular shower. We ate all our dinners on the back deck. The gaetas provide a nice selection of beach paraphernalia (beach chairs, tubes, boards, etc) in one of the neatest sheds we've ever seen. The cottage is a perfect base to enjoy the outer cape!

Great Family Beach Cottage

This cottage was even better than expected. The house has a bright updated décor with a master bedroom with half bath and TV on the opposite side of the other bedrooms. Nice open living room, kitchen, dining area with all of the appliances, cookware, glasses, plates that you would ever need. The washer and dryer make it easy to pack light and the A/C made a warm summer week very comfortable day and night. Dishwasher is a nice touch. The house had books, games, a large screen TV with full internet services and a stash of DVD's. The shed was full of the little things needed to make a trip relaxing like games, breach chairs, boogie boards and floaties. A very large deck and a nice Weber grill made evening dinners easy to prepare and enjoy. The very short and safe walk to a private beach was a joy as you could easily come and go without dragging your gear back and forth multiple times. Comfortable for two couples and two children. I would highly recommend a stay at this cottage.

Quiet & comfortable!

Perfect cottage

We stayed at the cottage for over a week and enjoyed every minute of it. There are tons of seating options: coffee in the adirondack chairs on the front deck in the morning sun, comfy chairs and couches inside to watch a movie, lounging in the sun or shade outside, and snoozing on the hammock after lunch on the backyard deck. The entire cottage is flooded with light thanks to the many skylights. The open plan layout is perfect for being together with your family while giving each person enough space to do her own thing. We also really appreciated having the extra half-bath and the outdoor shower, especially after a beach outing. The best part of the cottage is the peace and tranquility of the location. Everyday, we took advantage of the nearby association beach, where we had morning coffee, watched the sunset with a glass of wine, and gazed at the stars at night.

Awesome Bayside location

Our family of five spent a week at the cottage and had a great time. Tide in or out, we spent at least part of every day at the beach, and did a few moonlight strolls there as well. It truly was a 3-minute walk to the beach, and it was great having that "private" feeling. The cottage itself was very cozy, and we liked the layout very much. The backyard deck was great as well, and having the outdoor shower was perfect - got lots of use! Our kids brought bikes and rode around the neighborhood, including First Encounter Beach. The bike path was pretty close. As far as getting around the cape, it was a great spot, as P-town Wellfleet and Truro were much closer for us than in previous years, and we find ourselves enjoying the outer cape more and more. We were surprised at how fast we could get to Coast Guard Beach. And for amenities, the Eastham Superette was excellent, and Orleans was quite close as well. Great trip all around!
