Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Office, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

This beautiful, well appointed, but rustic, home let's you feel like you are in the wilderness of Montana while still enjoying all of the amenities of modern living. The open floor plan allows for large gatherings of friends and family in its over 2200 square feet and rests on 2.5 acres of private, wooded land. On the main floor, which is approximately 1300 square feet, you will find the great room with towering, 23' high cedar tongue and groove ceilings with a rock fireplace flanked by beautiful, large windows facing the front of the property for plenty of natural light. Above the mantel a unique, 13' piece of cotton wood sets center stage. One the opposing walls you will find unique artifacts such as a Grizzly bear rug from Alaska and skis and snowshoes made by the owner’s grandfather.

The master suite is also located on this level and features a custom, private bath with a 5' x 5' walk in double headed shower all in travertine marble with river rock accents running through it. The custom poured concrete counter top features a raw edge and local stone inlays. From the master king sized 12' memory foam bed you can look out the French doors and view the natural landscape or step out onto the deck to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Also on the main floor you will find the dining room and gourmet kitchen. The dining room can seat at least 12 with the additional table set up and has an 8' picture window to enjoy the wooded acreage. A 10' blue pine bar separates the dining area from the kitchen so guests can sit and visit while meals are prepared or it is a great place for children to enjoy a snack. The kitchen features all stainless appliances, custom concrete countertops with fossil inlays, a marble island and custom knotty alder cabinetry. A half bath and separate laundry closet with a stackable washer and dryer for guest use are located off the kitchen as well.

To get to the loft you ascend a beautiful 4' wide, open staircase from the great room. The loft is nearly 900 square foot and features a TV/family area; two private bedrooms with a shared full bath and semi-private office space that has alternate sleeping on a futon. One of the loft bedrooms has two double beds and the other has a single queen bed. The office does have a computer for guest use and Wi-Fi is also available for your own devices.

The TV area features a large, flat screen TV as well as a surround sound system. The house and decks are also wired for sound. There are five speaker zones - two on the deck, one in the master, one in the kitchen/dining room and one in the loft. You can listen to the satellite TV or your own favorite sounds throughout the house or in each zone separately.

The house does feature over 600 square feet of covered cedar deck to enjoy as well as a gas barbeque for preparing meals. The deck is approximately 4' from ground level and features a custom turned railing. In front of the deck is a 2900 square foot lawn, regulation horse shoe pit as well as a custom fire ring made by Great Falls artist, Bruce Vasser. While there I invite you to spend at least one night outside star gazing. It is phenomenal.

For parking you will find an easy access u-shaped gravel drive with plenty of parking. If you have RV's, boats, trailers or other large vehicles please make sure to disclose that at booking.

The property is nestled on nearly 2.5 acres in the beauty of Glacier National Park's back door, just 2 miles from your front door to the west entrance of the park. If GNP wasn't enough you are just 27 miles from the quaint galleries and shops of Whitefish; 35 miles to the Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, one of the premier ski areas in the west; 35 miles from the Glacier International Airport: and approximately 1.5 miles from the Amtrak rail station. It truly is a little slice of paradise year round. I lovingly refer to our home, which we recently finished, as King's Cabin due to my name, Cortni King, although my daughter refers to it as a 'log castle.' I know you will not be disappointed in your stay. It is a beautiful home in an amazing area. If you any questions please do not hesitate to call or email. Thank you.

About Cortni Harant

My family has a long history in the area spanning back to the late 1800's on both sides but I just returned to the area in 2008. I bought the property in 2009 and have been working on it since. I currently work in Great Falls and finished the house in the spring of 2012 and look forward to sharing my dream with you and yours. West Glacier and Glacier National Park are truly stunning and I hope you will find our home comfortable, inviting and inspiring. I am an artist/teacher hope my unique sensibilities highlight the beauty of the area and nature.

Cortni Harant purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Cortni Harant chose Glacier Country

The area is stunning and my rich family history brought a sense of kinship with canyon, the Bob Marshal Wilderness, the Great Bear, and, of course, Glacier National Park, the Crown Jewel of the Continent.

What makes this cabin unique

My home is situated on nearly 2.5 wooded acres with a clearing in the center providing you a sense of seclusion while still being close enough to others that there is a sense of safety. It is just a hop skip and a jump to area attractions including the Amazing Fun Center, restaurants, bars, a grocery store, bakery, rafting, helicopter tours, etc.

Amazing experience in every way

  • 5 of 5

My entire family really enjoyed King's Cabin. It was close to the park, spacious, clean, and well-stocked. We loved all the personal touches inside the cabin - the kitchen had all the dishes and appliances we needed, there were plenty of amenities like toilet paper, towels, and shampoo/conditioner/lotion, and the cabin had beautiful artwork and furniture that was connected to either the area or the owner's family. It felt like a home away from home. We were sad to leave and would love to return someday. We would highly recommend this home to anyone!!

This place is better than we could have hoped for. Beautiful, peaceful, quiet. 20 stars if we could

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a beautiful cabin close to GNP, look no further. This is it. Beautiful property, the house has everything you could possibly need, and then some. Don't waste your money using a property management company like we did for our last stay in MT. This is more bang for the buck, and wayyyyy nicer. Cortni has a loyal customer in us until we move out there. We will not stay anywhere else if we can help it. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. It truly feels like home away from home. Cortni has thought of every possible thing you could need and has it there for you. A 10/10 home, I would give this place 20 stars if I could. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to family or friends.

Fantastic House

  • 5 of 5

The house was great, beautiful and spacious. It was a perfect size & layout for our group. Very very conveniently located to GNP. Loved the fire pit outside and the large lawns for kids to play in. The owner was very gracious and extremely prompt in returning messages....could not have enjoyed it more!

Charming, exquisite, convenient, comfortable home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

This house is much more than just a wonderful accommodation convenient to Glacier National Park. It is a beautifully designed and decorated home that envelopes you with welcome the minute you walk in. There are beautiful wildflower gardens that invite you to stroll around the yard. Just sitting on the porch or out in the yard in the mountain air soothes the soul. There is peace and quiet, beauty and repose. Furniture and beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. The owner is wonderful to work with. We had fun on white water rafting ( Montana Raft Co - ask for 10% discount). We went in and out of the National Park. The house is very convenient for this. Loved staying in this wonderful home!

What a treat!

  • 5 of 5

We visited this beautiful home mid June. There are 9 of us visiting Glacier National Park as family reunion. Cortni gave out clear instructions. Upon arrival, we were stunned at how spacious this cabin is. It is surrounded in beautiful woods and charming both indoor and outdoor!

The cabin is also close to Apgar Village where we can enjoy the beautiful Lake McDonald in the evening before heading back to cabin. We grilled hamburgs and sausages the first night and steaks the second night. It beats eating at the restaurants.

After dinner, the kids play games by the fireplace; some of us sat inside reading; some enjoyed the porch where humming birds came for a visit. It is so relaxing that I wish we can stay longer.

We love Glacier National Park and hope we can stay at King's Cabin when we do come back in the near future.

Beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is beautiful and comfortable. The location is wonderful. And the owner is helpful and kind. Our family of 5 stayed here with two other couples. We all hadn't seen each other for over 3 years. The weather was rainy, and it didn't matter because the cabin was so pleasant to spend time in. We like to cook, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting Glacier.
