About Dean Roberts

Father purchased ranch when I was 3 yrs. old. I grew up here and was able to raise my 3 children with my beautiful wife of 39 years. Family operated a dairy on ranch till 1981. Had to go to work for the state to make a living. Retired in 2004 and put the ranch into a conservation easement and built these cabins for you.

Dean Roberts purchased this cabin in 1952

Why Dean Roberts chose South Central

Provides a great get-away for you and your family and friends. From the cabin there are great views of the mountains. Monarch ski area is a short 12 miles away in the winter and world class white water rafting is just minutes away. Has 1 mile of south Arkansas River frontage and has 1 acre trout pond

What makes this cabin unique

This working cattle ranch offers unsurpassed beauty and solitude. Great fishing and wildlife viewing await you. Cabin was finished in June of 2012. You will appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of the furnishings.

My family had a very comfortable stay - The cabin is beautiful and the scenery is spectacular.

The owners were very nice. The home was very clean, beds comfortable - The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed.

The property is on over 300 acres - so it was very quiet. - I loved seeing the horses in the pasture.

We stayed in the Elk Run cabin, very clean, beautiful views and host Dean was great! Only minutes away from groceries and supplies, excellent pizza joint. The drive 1 hr each direction on Hwy 50 was absolutely beautiful. Recommend Royal Gorge whitewater rafting and ziplining.

Wonderful property with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the cabin for a week. The cabin is beautifully appointed, clean, spacious, and in the most stunning setting. Our host, Dean, was helpful, kind and made our stay very comfortable. The location of the ranch is perfect, far enough out of town to be 'in the middle of nowhere' but only a 10 minute drive to groceries and good restaurants. Just couple of minutes from a great brewery, Elevation.

We had a lovely time staying at the cabin, and would definitely stay there again!

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The Post Office Ranch has got to be the best cabin we have ever stayed in. Dean was always there if we needed something, or had questions. He even hooked us up with some extra fishing gear for the awesomely trout stocked pond. We have 5 boys from 5 to 15 years old, and all had an amazing time. Only complaint is we had to go home. We will definitely rent this cabin again.
