About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 BATHROOMS, 6 Sleeps Comfortably

Relax and enjoy the Salida scene. A rare combination of vintage Victorian and modern amenities in a cottage setting. Perfect House to visit for those who want to enjoy the Heart of the Rockies, Salida.Wi-Fi included. Due to the antique nature of the property, it is NOT recommended for children.

This 112 year old home has been entirely remodeled with attentive care to re-use the original molding where possible. The two-bedrooms sleep six. The upstairs bath includes a claw foot tub and shower combination. The lower bathroom is a shower , sink and toilet only. The kitchen was re-modeled in 2006 as we popped the top to make the ceilings 10 feet tall. It includes a customer hand made, wood topped island. New carpet in 2014. Huge deck in the back yard to sprawl out on and sit under the elm tree. Beautifully landscaped corner lot. Laundry facilities on-site.

Beautiful treasure in Salida

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in a home through VRBO in Aspen, Co and was disappointed and I hesitated before staying at another VRBO. I am so glad I had a change of heart. This was a true treat and a wonderful stay. The bedding was crisp and clean as was the entire home. We loved every part of or stay and the home was perfect in every way. We will definitely be back. It was in perfect condition, the beds and pillows very comfortable and the Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. Thank you for the great experience!!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed our time at the sunflower cottage. Plenty of room for a family of four, and very close to downtown Salida. I highly recommend it.

Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

We spent four nights in the Cottage and had a very good experience. The house was very clean and everything worked great. It is within easy walking distance of downtown. The weather was nice so we were able to have lunch outside on the deck. There is also a big fenced yard for the grandkids to play in. We look forward to returning here on future trips to Salida.

Super cute, well-appointed, great owners

  • 5 of 5

We had a reunion here for Thanksgiving and our whole family loved it. The house is adorable, the kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. Doug was really responsive and nice. The yard is huge and the big deck has a grill and a great view of the mountains. We definitely plan on staying here again.

Loved the house and its location.

  • 5 of 5

Darling decor, up to date kitchen and bathrooms. We especially liked the deck and front porch. We did miss the WI Fi cabability when looking up information or for just reading the paper. Some of us just used our phones. All in all, a great rental.

Sweet and comfortable place, well cared for, many amenities, good location, exceptional yard.

  • 5 of 5

Communication with the host was very good, the location was very good, there were exceptional amenities provided, very well cared for place. Lovely back deck and yard, sweet dining room, large and well laid out kitchen, TWO very comfortable queen size beds in the master, and a lovely front porch and swing. Unusal layout means you walk through either another bedroom or a bathroom and the dining room to get from the master to the kitchen. Second bathroom is out and down short stairway from the master. NOTE: NO WIFI.
