Great house, great location
We had a very nice time at this house. It suited us perfectly and was a great home base to walk into town as well as skip up to Monarch for a day of skiing. We would stay there again.

We are so glad you enjoyed the Sunflower Cottage for walking into the famous historic district of downtown Salida and the "short jaunt" up to Monarch to ski!
Perfect house for us for our stay, great location to walk into town. Great to have the coffee machine and coffee there. Backyard was beautiful to sit and drink coffee, wish we’d had time to use the grill!

Enjoyed our stay
This is a cute property in a great location. The beds are comfortable and the house is located on a quiet street. There was a maintenance issue in one of the bathrooms that keeps me from giving it 5 stars, but other than that, it was a very nice property.

Mr. Perkins,
We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Sunflower Cottage. The maintenance issue was a small plumbing matter that was fixed the day after you checked out. My plumber refused to fix the issue while a guest was staying at the house so we resolved it at its earliest time.
Doug and Leanna
This was a great place for our family get together. Well stocked, clean, and a
wonderful backyard for the kids and dogs.
Highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Doug and/or Leanna Lampshire
Doug and Leanna are Colorado Natives who fell in love with Salida and wish to share the beauty, charm and pace this gem has to offer. We love to ride downtown on bikes and go out for a glass of wine, eat at a great local restaurant and listen to a local band. Riding "duckies" down the river is a blast!
Why they chose this property
There is just something very tranquil about this house. You WILL feel it when you get here. We invested in this property because we respect the style and grace of older homes, transom windows. The original parlor and 8" mouldings are very appealing to us.
What makes this property unique
Sit on the loveseat rocker on the front porch or grill on the back deck. The back deck is large and private. The backyard is big enough to play catch, croquet or frisbee.
