About The Owner

As of 12/3/2009 Bill Rhumm is the new owner of this property.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2009

Why The Owner chose Hilton Head Island

We've enjoyed the Hilton Head Island area prior to purchasing here. Our son learned to ride a bike in the parking lot outside our villa door several years ago. We have fond memories of that first vacation in Evian and try to get back each year to create more lasting memories. The setting is so beautiful and the slow pace of life is a stark contrast to the busy life at our main home.

What makes this villa unique

In a few short steps, one can gain access to the Evian tennis courts and pool. Getting to the beach via foot or 1 mile bike ride gives you up close sites and scents of plant and animal life in native tropical backdrop. Limited motor vehicle parking is also available at the Beach Club lot and adjacent hotel lots with shuttle service to the beach.

BIkes delivered to the villa door are the best ways to see the island. Level flat ground make peddling very easy.

We enjoy the beach at sunrise. But the dark night sky on the beach is like viewing an IMAX film in 3D with 'sensaround'! It seems you can pluck the stars from the sky.

Grocery stores, restaurants and shopping are a short drive from front or rear gates of the community.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We strive to send helpful info for our guests regarding Hilton Head, our

property, local interests, etc. Here's a comment from a guest comparing such

from another vacation rental experience.

Michael & Mary,

We returned from PCBeach yesterday with our stay at a new condo we rented

from an individual owner, such as yourselves. This particular owner did not

supply helpful information AND their support representative in Florida was

not helpful either. We appreciate your quality in such service. At this time we

don't have any questions, but I'm sure to call before we leave.

Regards,

LVB

We spent 2 weeks in March 2006 at Evian 158. The Bullerdick's have made it a beautiful villa with very tasteful decorating throughout. The peace and serenity of the area was absolutely gorgeous. We hope to occupy this unit in the future.

The owner needs to hire a new cleaning team and give the villa some TLC

  • 1 of 5

Arrived and villa had not been cleaned. The microwave, refrigerator and toilets were dirty. There was quite a bit of trash under the let out couch. The rugs weren't vacuumed Basically, the villa was sight straightened. The owner was nice and agreed to send the cleaning lady back. My son was there and called when she arrived so I could speak to the cleaning lady. We waited on her til 2:30pm. I voiced my concerns to no avail. She changed the sheets which I had washed, vacuumed and left. In addition the sofa bed was held together with wire hangers. If I had my way we would have forfeited out money and left but my husband frugal.

We come to Hilton Head every summer but booked late but the pictures were nice. My suggestion would be to buy the insurance. Although, the villa didn't meet my expectations we still had a great time.

Amazing location and stay! Must read for newcomers!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed here from July 15, 2017 to July 21, 2017 (a week), and I must say, it was so relaxing to finally settle at this clean, spacious villa after a 15 hour drive from Illinois! This villa had such a cute decor (not too cheesy or overwhelming) and was big enough to hold my family of 4 (despite a pull out couch and a provided cot!). The place was relatively clean and pleasant except for several cobwebs with daddy long legs, a broken knob, a dirty electric grill, and the wifi which would periodically disconnect from my family and I (hence, the 4 stars). The villa was very relaxing nonetheless and the best part about it was NO BUGS! I was very happy to encounter interesting wildlife such as alligators, large birds, lizards, and even jellyfish without seeing a single cocroach or bed bug. I definitely recommend checking out the pool and beach access in shipyard plantation, as well as coligny beach and plaza down Pope ave. Shopping, supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, and the pool are all very close by the villa, but be prepared to bring your phone or a provided map of Shipyard until you can adapt to the several turnabouts and roads, Hilton Head is bigger than you think! In conclusion, my family and I would definitely return to this villa for vacation! One last piece of advice (that nobody told me) before I end my review:

🔹Rain tends to be on and off throughout the day, even when it says only sun or only rain.

🔹If you see a yellow flag behind a lifeguard stand, be aware of any jellyfish or even stingrays which are indeed in the water

🔹 At night, scoring some awesome shells with a flashlight can prove to be really fun! My family and I found lots of shells and a part of a horseshoe crab shell.

🔹For restaurants, Fishcamp on Broad Creek, The Salty Dog, and Captain Woody's can get extremely packed at dinner time, so expect to be met with a wait time of 45 min to an hour and a half unless you'd like to book ahead of time.

Wonderful!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I traveled to Hilton Head Island at the end of July 2016. We had a glorious time, helped, not in a small part, by the lovely, peaceful villa at Evian.

The villa is fully kitted with everything you may need for your stay. We ate out most of the time and did not use the kitchen for more than snacks and drinks, but it was fully functional with full sized appliances, silverware, crockery, pots and pans.

The villa is a great size, and with the balcony overlooking the golf course and a lagoon, there is ample room for everyone without feeling crowded. (Although, as I said it was just hubby and I staying there).

Although the villa is part of a building with a few other villas, this one being on the second floor, we heard nothing from our fellow travelers. The area itself is incredibly peaceful with bike/walking paths throughout. There is a pool well within walking distance, with a lagoon close by, too.

There are three 9 hole golf courses in the Shipyard plantation with the '19th hole' being just a 2 minute drive away.

Hilton Head Island itself is truly beautiful, with lots to do for young people, but do not expect fairgrounds and water parks here - it is kept with nature very much in the forefront. The beaches are second to none!

I feel I must mention the beach access here, although it really has nothing to do with the villa or its owners. The beach access for the plantation is fairly close by - a drive if you need to carry items to the beach. But parking requires a pass and it is quite expensive for the week. This is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. There are other public accesses to beaches quite close by (just a few minutes drive off plantation) with metered parking.

The owners were very easy to reach and communicate with.

Would certainly recommend this villa and would really enjoy staying here again!
