Relax in a luxary home & take a short walk to the Gulf...
Framed by tall twisted Seagrape trees, and Saw Palmettos, you will find our 3800 sq ft.' tropical green' painted beach house, stretching up to three levels. Broken pieces of white sea shells, surround the tropical landscaping and coral pavers that make up the driveway. We built our home in 1996, and have enjoyed it as a meeting place for family reunions, friends, and Holidays. This is a house that has more windows than walls, and when you see the view, you'll understand why. Recently we updated it with new replacement windows and doors, hardy-board siding , new cabinets and granite counter tops in kitchen and bathrooms.
There are 2 houses between us and the pristine, white sandy beach; a quick short walk.
There are roll-a-way shutters, central intercom & stereo system, security system, and an elevator in the home that stops at three levels. The LR has a beautiful keystone fire place, with high cypress wood ceilings. House is decorated with a 'beach motif' with comfortable furniture.
The house is very open, tiled floors throughout, and has ceiling fans in every room. Two of the guest rooms have a queen size bed, and there is a large 'dorm' room on the back of the house with twin beds that sleep 6 people. The room has an adjoining large bathroom with shower (2 shower heads) and Koehler tub. Cable and
TVs in every room, PlayStation in guest room, DVD player. High-speed Internet access. Printer & Fax.
The covered wrap-around, screened deck area extends out behind the dining and LR areas, with a white porch swing, and comfortable patio furniture.
Large 2-car garage, and separate laundry room with W/D on ground level. Ping-Pong Table under lanai area, with 2 outdoor showers; one enclosed.
The master suite itself, is over 800 sq feet, surrounded by several windows overlooking the tree-tops with views of the Gulf. It makes up the top floor with a King size bed, wet-bar, keystone fireplace, home office area, sitting area with sofa, and covered deck . Adjoining is the master-bath with corner jacuzzi, separate toilet closet with bidet, and large shower.

Everything you could want!
Great house. Lots of beach chairs, beach toys and bikes to use. We had eight adults & all had lots of space. Especially appreciated the 3 1/2 bathrooms & comfortable beds. Nice outdoor porches. So close to the beach!
Had a wonderful month!
This home was perfect for my husband, myself and my 3 siblings. We have been coming to Anna Maria Island for over 6 years now. This home had it all. Very clean, great amenities and the perfect location. Owner was super friendly and gracious. Hope to return next February.
So happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay on Anna Maria Island. Definitely consider us again when you come back to the Island in 2018! We love welcoming our return guests. Thank you for all the nice comments and treating our home as if it is yours. We do appreciate your review--we love our beach house and enjoy sharing it with others--it is a very special place to make memories. We love that it is quiet and close to the beautiful beach. It is ideal for both families and seniors. Thank you and am looking forward to hearing from you soon about a return trip. Is a pleasure hosting such a nice family!
We enjoyed the Gutierrez family’s lovely home!
The pictures don’t lie! “Gracious & Spacious” is an accurate description of the Gutierrez family Anna Maria Island vacation home. Our daughter from Minnesota and, son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons from Germany joined us for Christmas week 2016. The home accommodated our family perfectly – clean, well maintained, with numerous amenities. We enjoyed the large dining table not only for meals, but also for crafts and games. The wrap around porch is great for entertaining visiting family and friends or simply relaxing. The porch swing was everyone’s favorite.
We viewed absence of a pool as a plus with two young grandsons to keep track of. However, for a home not directly on the beach, access to the beach is ridiculously close. No roads to cross, so we didn’t have to dodge any traffic. The beautiful white sand beach rivals those highly touted beaches at Siesta Key and Clearwater.
A number of restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We enjoyed dinner for twelve at Lobstas one evening. Our young grandsons especially liked the kids programs at the nearby Island Branch Library – Lego building one day, colored pencil drawing the next, and best of all, slime making!
Our family very much enjoyed our week in the Gutierrez family’s lovely home.
Rules, rules, rules
This is a great house-location, space, extras. Unfortunately, our vacation was overshadowed by the owner/manager. Communicating with her was frustrating. While at the house, all the rules made us nervous that we would lose our deposit. Based on to the letter below, we had cause to be so. We have rented from VRBO for over six years and never had such an experience.
It began during the contract step, when she sent a lengthy email outlining problems with previous renters and therefore, her need for a lot of information. This is understandable, so I let it go as just annoying.
Then, we got to the house where there was a full page of rules for EACH thing-the elevator (just do not plan on using), the laundry, the AC, etc. Upon arrival I sent a very short email outlining two items that were not problems, but I wanted to tell her about so that she would not hold us responsible. Her response was long and for some unknown reason detailed her problems with the new cleaners.
The final straw was this letter she sent with my security deposit check.
(The review would not allow a photo of the letter but it was a picture of sheets with 2 or 3 dime sized pink spots on sheets plus a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. The note along side explained how she had delayed sending my deposit back since she had to pre-treat and wash the sheets several times before the stains were removed. )
I had already contacted her regarding our deposit. Her reply did not, thank goodness, include info about the spots on the sheets. It did, however, urge me to write a review that should include the fact that she was nice enough to send us my daughter's baby blanket that we had left at the house. She was. I appreciate that.
The problem is that I **dreaded** emailing her with the request to mail that blanket. I **dreaded** emailing her regarding the items when we arrived and then later, asking about our deposit. I was **paranoid** the entire vacation that we, a group that included 4 kids, might hurt something in her house. Frustrated and paranoid is not how I wish to feel while on vacation. Perhaps she will consider getting a third party to manage, since it really is a nice house and location.
I appreciate the input from my guest and hope that her comments and mine will improve my vacation rental for others. Her complaint is that her vacation time at my house left her "frustrated and paranoid"? She felt that the four children in her group may damage something in my home and that she would not get her security deposit refunded. My intention is to give important information regarding the workings of different amenities in my home. Most rental homes don't have an elevator, nor a 4-zone thermostat which can be complicated to set. It is important to list operational information where necessary- My home accommodates families with up to 10 members, and am happy to rent to them--as they will create lasting memories to take home. When friends, family or tenants come to my home, they are asked to treat our home "like it is their home." All tenants buy the "damage protection insurance" in case of accidental breakage, such as broken glass, furniture, electronics etc. This PROTECTS guests against accidental damages. They should feel MORE comfortable with my home rental, knowing they are covered if accidental damage occurs. But insurance does not cover excessive cleaning charges. A set of queen sheets was left stained by guest and needed to be pre-treated, soaked and washed several times -- I didn't want to have to charge for a new set of sheets- I chose to work hard to remove the stains. Had I rented a house, and owner told me of stained linens after departure-I would feel embarrassed & apologetic-I wouldn't criticize the owner.
I believe that guests with children, need to supervise them at all times, to prevent injury and harm. I am a mother of four sons. As parents, we do put rules in place to protect our children. As a homeowner, I place information in my vacation home, to inform and protect my guests. Most guests appreciate any info regarding operation of home amenities. This guest referred to my "HOME INFORMATION Booklets" as too many RULES??? I wish her the best of luck with future home rentals. Our beach house is very special to us and we enjoy sharing it with others who enjoy the beach. The usual response from guests is this "The owner was very accommodating and helpful! Our grand-kids keep asking when we are coming back and I hope sooner than later!"
The Perfect House for a Family Christmas
A fantastic experience for my first time renting via Home Away. I did a lot of research to find what turned out to be the perfect house for a big family gathering over the Christmas holiday. My wife and I, plus our two daughters were meeting her immediate family that had arrived from the UK, we needed a big house. We were a party of ten (six-adults, four children – one 11, two 8, and one 4 year old). Booking the house over two weekends was no problem, (we arrived on Saturday, Dec. 19 and left on Tuesday, Dec. 29), and Debra was very flexible with our booking; and she was also very helpful, all my questions were answered quickly and completely prior to reserving the property and the entire process was very smooth.
It’s a beautiful big house and strategically located: Close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, with easy access to the main road. The house had more than enough room for us all. Especially nice was the kid’s room which can accommodate four, and the Master Suite. We gave my wife’s parents (both in their late 80’s) the Master Suite on the third floor. My in-laws thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of the Master Suite and the small sun deck adjacent to the bedroom, and they loved the elevator which was used every day. The elevator worked out great for them and it ensured that they could easily move between floors.
Many of the local restaurants and shops are within walking distance or just a short ride away. We ate at Lobstas, the Sandbar, and I especially enjoyed Skinny’s for great burgers. We ate in most of the time and found the kitchen to be well equipped to accommodate our cooking needs. The extra refrigerator in the garage was also much appreciated for storing cold drinks, extra food, etc. We also cooked on the grill a few times which created a variety of food/dining experiences for us.
The cart that was provided made getting gear to the beach very easy! The cart allowed us to easily transport (umbrellas, towels, coolers, floating toys, etc.) and the kayak. We used the kayak a few times and had great fun. We also made use of the bikes – riding the island and cruising the coast road.
Our entire party loved the place and we all were sad to leave.
Thank you Debra for allowing us to experience Anna Maria Island in your lovely home, we all had a wonderful time.
Thank you so much for your great feedback and lovely review. I appreciate you taking the time to write your positive comments which will be very helpful to our future guests. As owners that love our beach house, we take pride in the cleanliness and special amenities to make our guests feel welcome. We consider our home a special place where children can entertain themselves and adults can chat, visit, explore and most importantly RELAX! We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay, as much as we enjoyed having you during the Christmas Holiday. I can't think of a better place to enjoy the last sunsets of the year and welcome the New Year. Thank you for recommending our beautiful beach house on Anna Maria Island.
Hope your vacation plans bring you back to the Island in the near future.
Best beach house we've ever rented anywhere!! Plenty of room for our 8 adults. Loved the decks. We were especially impressed with all the extras in the house. Had a car repair issue while we were there and the small tool box SAVED THE DAY!! The wagon to haul our of our stuff to the beach was a god-send as was the canopy. More parking areas than we've ever had even though we didn't need them all. Would have loved to try the kayak but the surf was too rough. The owner's were very attentive and answered questions quickly. Very close to town, restaurants, piers, everything. Loved it!!
Thank you for taking the time out from your busy schedules to review our beach home. Your positive comments are much appreciated. We enjoy sharing our home so that travelers have the chance to experience Anna Maria Island. Safe & happy travels and please keep us in mind for future vacation time.
Anna Maria Island is a beautiful quiet island, with 7 miles of white sandy beaches, and the most beautiful sunsets you've ever seen..The amazing thing about the island, is how it maintains its 'small town' atmosphere. There are no towering high rise condos and/or apartments on the island. Winding, narrow streets are framed with tropical trees and plants. Sea oats sway quietly in the gentle Gulf breeze. The island's 3 cities provide access to spectacular beaches and tons of outdoor activities. People are very friendly. There is a Free Trolley that travels the length of the island from 6:00AM-11:00PM, and is fun to ride. It can take you to island shops, awesome seafood restaurants, rustic fishing piers, ice cream shops, grocery stores, churches and more. There are numerous activities and fun things to do--to list a few: fishing, snorkeling, diving, surfing, para-sailing, bike riding and shelling. There are canoe, jet-ski, moped, and even 'Zegway' rentals. Nature can be enjoyed at its best walking the shell-lined shores, watching tropical birds and other island wildlife .There are parks in the area, including Myakka River State Park, and DeSota National Park. There are fishing charters, kayak outfitters, and even fruit farms nearby. There are numerous local attractions, should you tire of the sun, and need a 'rainy day' to catch up. There's Mote Marine Aquarium, Bishop Planetarium/Museum, Ringling Museum of Art, the Island Playhouse Theater, The Dali Museum, and Marie Selby Gardens, with it's beautiful orchid displays, and tropical plants.. You will find major attractions in neighboring cities including Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, and Disney World. The M LB team, the Tampa Rays play at Tropicana field in St Petersburg. There are more than 50 golf courses nearby. If you'd like to improve your game, the internationally famous David Leadbetter Golf Academy, Nick Boliterie Tennis Academy and IMG Academy are all located in Bradenton . The island is very 'laid-back' and offers so many wonderful accommodations. Come for the sunset, but stay for the sunrise,...Anna Maria Island is a special place, that will reach out to your heart...you won't want to leave...
