Leah purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Leah chose Magnolia Springs
We have been playing on the Magnolia river for years- boating, swimming and canoeing. It was our dream to have a home there. We fell in love with this house many years before we were able to purchase it.
What makes this Cottage unique
This inviting cottage in the historic village of Magnolia Springs is mere steps from the beautiful river. Walks and bike rides under the majestic live oaks are a must, as well as lunch or dinner at Jesse's. Our favorite activities are kayaking, fishing and birdwatching.

A great place to kick back and relax!!
Had a wonderful time at Magnolia Time. The house was comfortable, clean and well accommodated. Everything we could possibly want was furnished. Spent many hours just sitting on the screened porch reading. The home was just a few steps from the dock on the river where the fish were plentiful. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. They were always available to answer any questions we might ask. Would highly recommend
Magnolia Springs is charming and in very close proximity to Gulf Shores, Foley, and Fairhope.
The property was wonderful — especially the screened-in porch. Enjoyed coffee there each morning and after sunset, listened to the crickets. We loved it! Great food right down the road at Jesse’s. Oak Street is such a beautiful setting!
We enjoyed our short stay in this clean and neat-as-a-pin home. Found it more charming and full of character than the pictures could reveal. If you love walks under canopies of live oaks in a quite neighborhood, relaxing on a comfortable screened porch surrounded by lush green and blooming flowers, fishing and river fun, you would love this place. Morning coffee on the pier a few steps away was wonderful as well as the evening surprises of fish and fowl everywhere. Loved the owl in the distance. We had many restaurant choices nearby and more with a short drive to the beach.
The owners are very pleasant and helpful!
Looking forward to booking again.
Extremely satisfied with the house and the host. It’s a quiet area that is very relaxing. We’re 3 pro photographers that travel 2-3 times a year for photo shoots and I’m sure we’ll be back to this place. Leah was a trove of info on locations for sunsets, wildlife, and restaurants. Jesse's Restaurant is a must for your stay.
Lovely cottage in beautiful environment
Very cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!!
The Perfect Oasis
Our last visit we had stayed in a house not too far from here, but we chose to stay here because this house would put us closer to where our son was moving. It looked like a very nice house in the listing. Plus it was close to water. And it allowed us to bring our dog. However, when we arrived we were absolutely amazed. This house was so much nicer and cozier than the listing had shown. It was better than advertised.
My wife and I would start our mornings with a cup of coffee out in the screened in porch just watching the birds feed on the feeders. So tranquil!
This was a great place to come unwind after a busy day apartment hunting, or after being at the beach or shopping.
We got to make use of the bicycles which were provided. Unfortunately, time did not allow us to take the provided kayaks down to the river, which is only a few hundred feet down the street.
We enjoyed our stay here very much, and with our 2 sons being down here, I'm hopeful of being able to stay here again in the future.
But before I end this review, we have to mention Oak Street. Just one street over. Absolutely beautiful!! The Oak trees line the street and overlap it creating a canopy effect that has to be seen to believe!
Our cottage is located in the heart of historic Magnolia Springs, AL. The community's name comes from the ever-flowing springs and the abundance of aged magnolia trees that grace nearly every residential garden. A majestic canopy of giant oak trees lines Oak Street, just one block away. During your stay, you can view waterbirds, go fishing or swimming from the neighborhood pier, just a few steps away. While you are enjoying the pier, you can see the the only remaining river route US mailman in the continental United States (see pic). For lunch or dinner, Jesse’s Award Winning Restaurant is a short 10 minute walk down Oak Street. The beautiful town and river are perfect for travelers who enjoy walking, running, biking and water sports as well as sightseers and birdwatchers. The location is a very convenient drive to shopping, in Foley or Fairhope, to Gulf beaches, and to many restaurants and spas.
