Pokomoke is a classic cottage sitting in a private location on Sebago Lake. Every room in the house looks out to the beautiful views of Sebago Lake. Two queen bedrooms upstairs and a futon in the living room sleep six in the main house. The main house has a full bath upstairs. The lake cabin has a queen and a twin (no bathroom). The woods cabin has one queen and two twins and a half bathroom. The kitchen has all the amenities of home. Phone, internet and TV keep you in touch with the outside world (if you want to keep in touch). The grounds around the main house and cabins are level great for games, lounging in the hammock or sitting by the firepit. A flight of stairs lead you down the hill to the dock and a pebble beach. The water at the dock is deep most times of the year. Sebago is controled by a dam and occasionally water levels can vary. A mooring is available for a boat tie up at night. Pokomoke can accommodate 10-12 guests however, it lies in a quiet neighborhood and it has classic beauty both of which need to be respected. Pokomoke has been in the same family for nearly 1oo years.

Wonderful time at a beautiful location!
It was such a pleasure staying at Pokomoke! The house was such a treasure, we felt like we had stepped into a piece of history, warm and inviting, it felt like home! Perfect weather, plenty of space for our family and friends, and such a lovely setting. We met the sunrise each morning from our bedroom, what a treat! Sandra was very pleasant to work with, she answered all of our questions and set us at ease. I highly recommend this house, you will love it too.
It was perfect for our family! We enjoyed the large living space, great views and each other! A great spot for locals wishing to have a family reunion or folk from far away looking for maine rustic with all the conveniences.
Pokomoke July 2013
This property completely fullfilled our expectations for a large group who desired a relaxing, comfortable stay on Sebago. The house is tastefully decorated in characteristic Maine Cabin charm complete with a few creaky flooboards, wooden walls and more. The views of the lake from the house interior are spectacular and can be seen from virtually every room.
Our group consisted of 5 couples; my wife and I and our 2 close friends and our 3 grown children and their significant others. The sleeping arrangements worked out very well for all of us. Our friends used the futon in the family room and said that it was very comfortable. Our kids almost fought over who would sleep in the cabins.
The living room and family room/ dining area are much larger and accomodating than the pictures suggest. We were all able to eat together at the 2 tables in the main dining area which was important for us and we enjoyed many evenings playing cards, dominos and other games together at these tables. The fire pit was fantastic and the dock offered a large enough area for all of us to enjoy time together either sitting or swimming. The stairs down to the shoreline were "challenging" (all 54 of them) but we welcomed the exercise to offset all the food and snackin' we did during the week.
My wife and I and our family have been vacationing in the Sebago Lakes region for more than 25 years but this is our 1st year on Sebago. This lake is so much clearer and cleaner than many others weve been on. The western shore is also much quieter and less populated than the east side which made this property that much nicer. Thank you for a lot of great memories!!
Great Waterfront Vacaton Getaway
The coziness of the rental was wonderful. The home has been in the family for quite some time and has a real cabin feel. Our party of 8 had plenty of room to share meals, watch sports, and most importantly enjoy the lake. Although it was 54 steps down to the dock, it was so lovely there. If we were not out on the boat, we spent the day on the dock, soaking up the sun and swimming off the dock. Our lab was in heaven! This rental also has two additional buildings which sleeps a total of 5/6 more people. Our family that stayed in these cabins enjoyed the privacy and found the accommodations clean and comfortable. The best seafood we had was a short drive to Cornish at a place called Bar Harbour 2 Lobster Pound. So many seafood options that were fresh and super delicious. Go early as the wait can be over an hour. Grocery shopping was convenient. A 10 minute ride to Hannefords. We just found this spot perfect for all our needs.
Property is located off the beaten path but within in 15 minutes of being in the middle of Windham, Maine which has many chain stores or heading toward Naples, Maine a busy area full of tourist attractions. This area is an outdoor lover's paradise. Hiking trails are on many nearby mountains including: Douglas Mountain, Bald Pate Mountain, Hacker's Hill, and Rattlesnake Mountain. Fishing Sebago's crystal clear water is great any season. Lake trout, large & small mouth bass, salmon, pike and many other varieties of fish call Sebago Lake home. Sebago is Maine's second largest lake 8 miles wide by 10 miles long. It is connected to Long Lake and Brandy Pond by the Songo River (Songo Locks) for over 40 miles of continuous waterway. It is definitely a boater's paradise!
