About the host
Hosted by Heidi Price
Jim and Heidi are California natives. Jim was actually born in a Sonoma winery. Both are history enthusiasts, and have done alot of research on this period and this house specifically to learn its secrets.
Why they chose this property
We live in the neighborhood. We fell in love with this house due to its external and internal beauty and architectural strengths. It was designed and built by the Strang Brothers in 1914, and has historical designation to help preserve it.
What makes this property unique
Beautiful wood everywhere! Never painted by previous homeowners (and I thank them very much!) It is a large house on a large lot with cedar shingles and peanut-brittle columns)
There is straight-grained douglas fir detail, gumwood panels, and golden oak floors (except for the large bedroom, whose flooring is maple.
The house is astonishingly spacious for an arts and crafts house. Even one of its 3 bathroom, and one of its three closets are huge!. The lot is large, too, fully enclosed with locking gates.
