About Larry and Liz Pollock
We, Larry and Liz Pollock, currently live in Bellingham, WA. We purchased our dream place on Orcas Island over 30 years ago after falling in love with each other and with the island. Our cabin home was previously part of the Buckhorn Lodge back in the 1930s, and used as a fishing resort destination. We love Orcas so much, we even got married at the little chapel in Eastsound and had our reception right at the cabin. Lovely! The 'cabin' as we lovingly refer to it in our family, has been our place to vacation, relax, and rejuvenate with one another. Our kids, Niki and Drew, now adults, have many fond memories building rafts, playing on the beach in front, swimming in the pool, and sharing their special place with friends. As educators we also had the added bonus to spend most of our summers on Orcas. But, now, as our kids are grown and one of us (Larry) is retired, we have decided to once again share our little piece of heaven with others, which also allows us to travel to other destinations around this amazing planet. We welcome you to build your own memories at our Orcas cabin home.

Why Larry and Liz Pollock chose Eastsound
The most amazing thing about this property is the easy waterfront access and spectacular views. If you know Orcas Island at all, you come to realize that low-bank waterfront homes are hard to find. Our cabin is waterfront, and has just a few steps down to the beach. There are many things to do on Orcas, but we find just being at the cabin is wonderful. We see otters, seals, porpoises, eagles and waterfowl, and deer, literally every day. We also have an old pool in our backyard, which is usually available during the summer and is solar heated. Renters will also have use of our 3 kayaks and 1 canoe. Renters can also use our dinghy if you own a boat. Just minutes away from Eastsound (the main town on Orcas), it is easy to check out the local stores, grab some good food and buy your own groceries.
What makes this House unique
This cabin is truly a unique spot. Low bank waterfront is rare on Orcas and we are just steps to the beach. Our view is spectacular. On a clear day Mt. Baker is amazing! There is a seasonal solar-heated pool in the fenced in backyard. One of a kind experience for all!

Bucket List Vacation
This property was an amazing find! Right on the water with million dollar views, we were able to see seals, sea ducks, eagles, and all sorts of birds without ever leaving the deck. The kids loved both the pool and rock hunting on the beach. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need and house was very clean. The owner was very communicative and helpful with any questions and offered up great recommendations as well. Orcas Islands was truly a dream vacation!
Perfect Location! Wonderful vacation spot on Orcas!
This was the perfect spot for our family to explore Orcas Island from. The house is on a quiet, beautiful beach and even though the island was busy for 4th of July, it was quiet and calm at this spot. We didn't feel any of the busyness. It is very well equipped with toys and games, and we really enjoyed using the kayaks and SUP board there. It was wonderful to have campfires each night in the fire pit out on the lawn and the owners had a great supply of fire wood. The house is an older cabin but it is really very clean and well kept, making it very comfortable. It had everything we needed and was a great space for our family of 5. The kids enjoyed having the pool since the ocean water is so cold. The owner was very responsive, kind, and helpful. He even reminded me about making my ferry reservations ahead of time to get to and from the island. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone. It's close to beautiful Moran State Park, but there are endless things to do right from the house and gorgeous views as well.
Amazing setting on a magical island
The location of the place far exceeded our expectations. When we arrived we saw this beautiful view of Mount Baker in the distance and the private beach just feet away from the house. It was really an ideal setting for our vacation. We rented bikes I’ve had about a 15 minute bike ride into town but at the same time were located in a very quiet and peaceful setting. We went kayaking every day using Larry’s kayaks. We swim in his pool. We had a campfire outside at sunset. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. And the views from the kitchen and living room were spectacular. Larry was able to answer any questions we had about things to do or places to go. Would hardly recommend Larrys place.
The sights from the deck were gorgeous along with all the comfort and amenities this wonderful cabin brought. We enjoyed everything about this place!
Perfect location - peaceful and right on the water with stunning views, yet convenient to shops and restaurants and Moran State Park. We enjoyed watching the seals, bald eagles and even saw an otter. Being able to kayak from the beach was great. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Would have liked to stay longer.
Wish we had been able to stay longer
This property was very nice. We had a short time to enjoy it. Would love to go back. The orcas were no where to be seen which was a huge disappointment and the whole reason for this trip. The vrbo made up for it as well as our communication withe owner. Thank you again.
The Buckhorn Waterfront Beach Cabin is on beautiful Orcas Island. Orcas is often called the resort island because of the many beach resorts, restaurants, art galleries and charming shops. Recreational options include golf, tennis, a small movie house, live music, restaurants and, in the summer, a seasonal Saturday farmers' market. You can also hike in many places, including Moran State Park, Washington's fourth largest State Park, as well as Turtle Back Mountain. There are also several mountain lakes to explore.
