Ultimate Luxury And Expansive, Beautiful Views
Very private, multi-million dollar property with spectacular ocean views, perfect for a family outing or surprise intimate getaway.
This custom bluff-top home overlooks Albion's picturesque Navarro beach, where the Navarro River meets the Pacific Ocean. Listen to the soothing sounds of the waves from the wrap-around deck, or relax and soak in the panoramic views. Grab a few fluffy towels and stargaze on a cool, clear night in the secluded, roomy hot tub.
A sought-after vacation home on the Mendocino coast, Baleen (named for the baleen whales that can be seen from the deck during whale-watching season) was exquisitely furnished by a professional decorator and completely renovated from the ground up. It is a meticulous melding of comfort and serenity, and includes
- two private, gorgeous bedroom suites (plus two queen-sized sofabeds--one in each lounge)
- 3 full bathrooms (complete with heated limestone floors)
- full gourmet kitchen
- all the expected (and even unexpected!) amenities of a luxury vacation home, including multiple flat-screen tvs, stereo, gorgeous gas stove, granite countertops of rose quartz and labradorite, heated limestone floors in the bathrooms, bamboo flooring throughout the first floor, and a telescope for whale-watching!
The activities you can enjoy are endless. Take a leisurely sunrise or sunset walk or brisk jog along the open, secluded stretch of sand below the house: access is just a minute's drive down the hill to free beachfront parking. (There is no direct beach access from the house.) Have breakfast at favorite local hotspot Queenie's Roadhouse Cafe, share a pint with the locals at Bridget Dolan's Pub, or choose to dine at one of several fine renowned restaurants, all within a mile from your doorstep. Then go for a stroll in downtown Mendocino, soak in the landscape, or take a drive up the coast. Experience Mendocino at a slow, inspired pace.

About Margie Gear
A California girl who loves the North Coast, and enjoys sharing the luxury and beauty of her homes with visitors to this wonderful part of the the Golden State. I've worked and traveled across most of Europe and some of Asia, and I've lived in Hawaii. My family is from Canada (we used to joke that I am the only US-born family member and can become president someday.) I keep coming back to California and its unrivaled beauty and liveability. I am an active animal rescuer and I am on the Advisory Committee of MickaCoo Pigeon and Dove Rescue. I spent 14 years fostering and volunteering with Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue. I have met wonderful, caring people through my work with them, not to mention some great birds! I also volunteer my time to the ALRP, which provides free legal representation to those living with AIDS or HIV here in the Bay Area. I am blessed and I like to pay it forward. My mottos are 'Carpe Diem, Vita Brevis' and 'This, too, shall pass.' They have served me very well. I am a hands-on host. I want to make sure your questions are answered, and you have a good time while visiting Baleen. I encourage you to reach out to me before, during, or after your vacation with questions, comments, or suggestions. I hope you try out my beautiful Mendocino home and are prepared to be spoiled and indulged.

This home is amazing! It is in a great location overlooking the ocean and the mouth of the Navarro River. All you hear is ocean! The two bedrooms are big and elegant with their own private baths. Complete third bathroom is in the living area.
Kitchen is very nicely equipped, large frig, double oven.
We truly hate to leave and hope we will be back soon.

What an amazing week and wonderful home!
Baleen was just spectacular! The home has stunning views a wonderful deck and hot tub. If you cook the kitchen is well appointed. I had no idea I needed floor heaters in my bathroom! I cannot day enough about this home or the owner! Fun, easy, and lovely!
Thanks so much. Baleen promises something for everyone. "Fun, easy, and lovely" summarize this getaway very well!
Didn’t want to leave
Such a beautiful and comfortable home with an amazing view. Watched whales and cannot wait to return. Thank you for a fantastic getaway.
Thanks, Kelly. Whale watching is such a pleasure at Baleen.
Mothers and their calves will spend hours cavorting in the inlet right off the deck during the northern springtime migration. It's a private, front-row seat at Baleen!
I look forward to hosting you and your family again soon.
The Mendocino coast is rugged, breathtaking, and mesmerizing. Attractions are many, and include premiere restaurants, hiking, biking, world-class spas, boating, abalone diving, shopping, and taking in the galleries and art culture for which Mendocino is known.
