Recently remodeled with redwood and fir accents, the Mendocino Redwood Retreat - Vista House offers an idyllic getaway in Little River just 10 minutes from the quaint coastal town of Mendocino. The property's serene location settles you close to nature with on-site hiking trails leading to and from the Albion River. World-class beaches and parks are five to ten minutes away, including Van Damme State Park, Big River Beach, and Mendocino Headlands State Park.



The Space:

Inside, warm up in front of the wood stove as you gaze out at treetop views through the A-frame doors and windows. Get even closer to the views when you sink into the wood-basin hot tub, available on the expansive deck. On a clear night, you will be treated to a full sky of stars and the gentle sound of ocean waves in the distance. The chef of your group will adore the stainless steel appliances and ample meal prep space available in the gourmet kitchen.



The bedrooms are equally inviting, all soaked in sunlight and furnished with soft linens. A projector and Netflix streaming offer the perfect set-up for a movie night! A private washer/dryer and internet access tie together the property's day-to-day amenities. End each day watching the sunset below the redwood vista. This is a special place that you will have a hard time leaving!



All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. This property is not equipped with air-conditioning. This home shares property with another vacation rental. Please keep this in mind when booking.



Guest Access:

The Vista House is on a shared property with Mendocino Redwood Retreat - Sunrise Cottage, which can be rented separately. Outdoor open spaces are shared, but each home has its own dedicated deck and assigned parking. If both of them are available, you may rent them together as Redwood Retreat - Vista+Sunrise Cottage.

Check-in Form: To ensure a smooth and secure stay for all guests, we kindly require completion of our short check-in form after booking. This includes signing our standard rental agreement and verifying guest and payment information. It only takes a few minutes and helps us prepare the home for your arrival.



We prioritize a safe environment for our guests. To monitor arrivals and vehicle safety, we have two exterior security cameras: one on the main home's roof facing the cottage entrance and driveway, and another at the front gate near the EV charger facing the main house entry. Both are strictly outdoor-facing; we value your privacy and have no indoor surveillance of any kind.

Beautiful house, great views made the stay wonderful. Nice welcome snacks and well stocked kitchen. Hot tub was good, bit of a challenge for some of our guests to get in, but once there it was very relaxing.

This was such a magical experience- we loved everything about the house, from the projector, to the wooden hot tub, to the large waterfall shower head, to the piano! Beautiful home located in the woods surrounded by trees. Spacious and accommodated our group with plenty of room to hang out. Loved spending time in the hot tub under the stars.

Incredible property! Great value for the price!

The house is close to Mendocino but feels like you are miles away from civilization. The property is even better than the photos suggest. The house is spacious and well stocked. My 23 year old niece and her friend really enjoyed hanging out on the deck, in the hammock, indoors on the sofa with a cozy fire going, etc. They each had their own spacious room upstairs with a bathroom to share, while my husband and I enjoyed an enormous downstairs bedroom with ensuite bath and a beautiful sitting room overlooking the deck and the spectacular forest view. It was a great house to come back to after enjoying all the outdoor activities that the area offers. We enjoyed the rental so much that we added an additional night to our stay at the last minute. Rent this place - you won't be sorry!

We found this house to be one of the best rentals we have stayed in!Everything, and I mean everything , was perfect! The hot tub was immaculate and ready to pop in.All the rooms were perfectly and simply set up. The property was in a stunning redwoods surrounded setting. At night, the sky’s stars were on display as the house has no ambient light pollution. We will most definitely be back.
