About Mary Harrison

Owners live just 1 hour from the property. They are lawyers, one of whom has a small law firm and the other works as a Vice President in a local foundation.

Why Mary Harrison chose Plymouth

The Onset and upper Cape area is home to our grandparents and a huge family. We have a lifetime of great memories of summers on the Cape. So we bought this home to ensure the traditions continue into the future generations. We and our family living an hour away have the joy of an updated, fully equipped home away from home for day trips to weeks-long vacations.

What makes this cottage unique

Swimming, fishing, Ice Fishing in season, canoeing; a short distance to the Cape Cod Canal for biking, roller blading or walking; so many options for eating and exploring and Cape Cod beaches. It's hard to leave the property once you get there. The views on the pond change all day - each more beautiful than the last. Watch amazing reflections of the moon and stars on the water. It's very typical to come with big plans for day trips to the local attractions and never leave the property becuase it entices you completely.

A Hidden Gem in Plymouth!

  • 4 of 5

Don't miss this opportunity!

Born in Plymouth, MA but stationed overseas with the military for some years. Recently married, I wanted to introduce my new German family to my relatives living in Plymouth and provide them a true 4th of July American experience. We traveled an exhausting 16hrs before first arriving and what a comfortable house this was. My three kids (10, 13, and 16 yrs) LOVE the water and this was the PERFECT location. They could not wait to get in the water the next days. I mean, where else can you stay at such a house that overlooks a picturesque pond/lake as your backyard!

The house was very clean when we arrived, A/C cooled, and all the amenities for the water were available for the kids...fishing rods, canoe, kayak, boat, life jackets, as well as lounge chairs for mom and dad to sit by the waterfront and sunbathe. In fact, my oldest caught (and released) numerous fish while the others, using their own snorkelling gear, had fun searching and diving for gold balls... over 5-days they gathered 60 balls. Downstairs houses three queen-size bedrooms plus a separate double bed - which was perfect for our family of five. The mattresses were not worn and very comfortable. Two of the rear-facing bedrooms have a sliding doors which a few steps away lead to the private beachfront with a fire-pit. Admittedly, the steps to the beachfront as well as landscape could use some TLC but nothing too severe. Previous reviews on this site state this house looks small from the front and yes, it does. But once you are inside, it really opens up. The owners did an excellent job to install large rear-facing windows and patio door which showcases the pond/lake. The house is located in south Plymouth (near Wareham) and the neighbourhood surrounding it was quiet.

I am very picky but cannot say enough good things about this house and owner. Very sure you will be as pleased as us.

Owner's Response: Thanks Jake for this great review! I'm so happy to hear that the house and setting worked so well. It's wonderful that your trip home was what you had hoped it would be. Thanks for taking care of the property. We rebuilt the house last year - thanks for comments that point out some features of that work. But, I agree that the pond area needs an aesthetic lift. It's on our wish/to-do list of next projects. Thanks again!!

Quiet place on the pond.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay for 10 days while visiting for a wedding. The cottage is much larger than the front picture indicates & was quite comfortable for the 5 of us. I found the beds to be very comfortable which as a 1st time renter of a private house was a concern. The place was also well equipped with everything you would need for cooking just about anything. Personally, I ate out for seafood every single day! Our boys were in the water, or in the boats, or fishing every minute they could and had a wonderful time. The yard needs some work & I would highly recommend a walkway to the front door so your feet aren't all wet in the morning or evenings from the dew. There is a camper next door and a privacy fence would be a good idea but it was a nice spot & we had a great time. I am quite picky & I would come back again. Thank you very much Mary, we loved your place!

Our family of 8 had a wonderful week in this comfortable home. So much to do in the area if you ever leave the house. Hope to be back next year.

Perfect lake house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property for one week. We were 4 adults and 5 kids, the house is so spacious that everybody had their own space. The kids were excited about the lake, take few steps down and your feet are in the water. Everything we needed, it was provided, plates, cups, utensils and much more. The owner, Mary, was always available for any questions that we had.

The best vacation ever!!!!
