A slice of mountain life

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at Acorn Cabin. The location was perfect! We felt like we were hidden away in the mountains but the main road thru Weaverville was a short 10 minute walk up the hill. The cabin was cozy and had all the things we needed. There was an issue with WiFi but Rodger had that fixed quickly. Would stay again. Thanks!

Great location

  • 4 of 5

The house was nice but loved the location. Enjoyed walking to and being so close to little Weaverville and fairly close to Asheville. There are some nice hikes nearby and even saw a BEAR on one!! Although the house was clean, there was something in it that bothered my husband and his allergies (which aren't really that active). His eyes got red and itchy so not sure if there was a cat prior or dust, etc.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review! Sorry about the allergy flare. We don't allow cats but don't know if one stayed with us anyway. Also we have a strong pollen season in the late spring. Please come again, maybe in a different season.

As always, the cabin was clean & ready for us when we arrived. The location for our family reunion couldn’t be better. See you next year!

Nice Cabin but.....

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is nice with plenty of room for a family. It is close to downtown Weaverville and in a quiet hollow. However, the cabin is not very clean. There were cobwebs in all the windows and ceilings, bee nests by the front door, and outdoor furniture extremely dirty. We had on every large bee get in by the front door which we had to chase and kill. The microwave door button was broken and all the other appliances were old but working. This was our second time staying at this cabin which was in better condition last year when we rented it. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. They just need to do some spring cleaning!

Owner's Response: So sorry you were not happy this stay. Since our cleaning ladies are excellent, we think the problem was ours, the owners, in not directing them to clean the front porch and vacuum out all the window sills. This will be done ASAP. This needs to be done every Spring when the pollen flies and the little critters wake up from winter. Regarding the "bees": those are carpenter bees, they don't have nests exactly, but do like our real log cabin to bore holes into to lay their eggs. We have three carpenter bee traps up and it helps a lot. Since they don't sting you can ignore them. Too bad you didn't call us about the broken microwave which we didn't know about, because we had an extra one in storage next door which we could have gotten to you immediately. We will try to do a better job in the future with keeping up with the porches and sills. Thank you for your business and we hope you come again.

Great cabin in a cool little area near Asheville

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five, plus our small dog, enjoyed this cabin tremendously. We took walks every day to downtown Weaverville, where we splurged on fancy desserts and great coffee at the Well Bred Bakery. The nearby Nature Park is a delight. The accommodations are very cozy and everything we needed was furnished. It features a nice gas fireplace and good television reception. A very relaxing place.

nice get away

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 enjoyed this cabin while staying near Asheville. We picked up our son from Furman University and had a nice Easter break with him. The cabin was functional and stocked with all the things a family would need. It was so nice to have laundry available and even detergent was provided!
