Why Jeff Schmitz chose Asheville
Jeff was originally drawn to Asheville from the west coast by the relaxed lifestyle and ample access to beautiful mountains and rushing waters. He fell in love with this house and this part of Asheville 22 years ago. Since then, he has worked to renovate the space into a mountain dream house. It is both private and close to town---the best of both worlds. This is such a wonderful place and he wanted to share it with others as they traveled to the mountains of Western North Carolina. We all work so hard these days and forget how important it is to nurture ourselves and our relationships. This is an amazing, private romantic place that is appealing to adults of all ages.
What makes this House unique
This house had so much hidden potential when he purchased it many years ago. It was a diamond in the rough. The property has private lay out for being this convenient to town. It's character stood out above all others.

Weekend in the mountains
We had an amazing time staying at this property! Tammy was so nice and everything was just as described if not better. Very quite peaceful place centrally located between town and the parkway. We brought our dog last minute and even stayed an extra day because we didn’t want to leave. We are recommending this place to family and friends. We will be back!
Easy and comfortable place to get away to for a few days. Enjoyed downtown even though corona had most stores closed.
Perfect retreat in Asheville
This was a really fun stay. It’s a great location with very nice decor, clean, comfortable and highly enjoyable. Excellent web connection and other technological resources. The setting for our dogs was terrific. Could not imagine a more comfortable travel experience with two golden retrievers.
Asheville and the blue ridge we are great resources and this house was in a perfect location for both.
Yearly anniversary trip
Once again we absolutely loved staying here! The house is perfect, the location is perfect and the backyard is perfect for our two English bulldogs Queso and Pico. We rarely feel safe letting them roam around outside but we always let them explore here! We can’t wait until our anniversary next year to come back. The only additions I wish the property had were a tv in the bedroom and a washer/dryer so we don’t have to leave with dirty laundry. However neither one of these issues will stop us from coming back❤️ Thank you again for a wonderful stay at your property.
This cottage is the best of both worlds-close to town and private! Located in Buncombe County and just outside the city limits, only 4 miles from downtown Asheville, the Escape is located in a wooded setting. Hiking trails are abundant only minutes away on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our favorite restaurants are the Admiral and Curate', you must make reservations early though. Other great places to dine in downtown Asheville include Limones, Salsa, Zombra, Tupelo Honey and Mela.
