Perfect. That's the only way to describe this place. Tucked away in a secluded setting, this cabin is beautifully decorated, and it is obvious that the host wants your stay to be comfortable and enjoyable. You have everything you need right at your fingertips. If you plan to hike in the nearby state parks, this cabin is conveniently located. We enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.
This was by far the best stay we had since booking with VRBO. We stayed for a weekend getaway for my wife’s birthday and everything was perfect. Ryan is a great host and provides great directions to the cabin and provided information about nearby attractions. This cabin is definitely secluded and off the path. If you plan to disconnect from reality, this is the place because there is no cell service until you enter the main roads not far from the cabin. The beautiful hot tub was truly our favorite highlight, in addition to the overall cleanliness of the entire property. We will be back!
This cabin was the perfect getaway for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. This was our second time staying on this property and we absolutely will be back. We love it central location to Grayson Highlands, and all the other great hikes around the area. The house was clean. Hot tub was great after the long days of hiking. We will definitely be staying again. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to civilization to enjoy good restaurants and again great location for hiking in Southwest Virginia. We’ve done the channels hungry mothers State Park and most recently the sand cave, this place is for you.
We stayed over Thanksgiving week 2025. We wanted a nice quiet place to spend the week and we got exactly that. Very well appointed kitchen. We brought a few of our own linens and cooking utensils to be safe, not necessary. Custom live edge furniture is impressive. Brickwork and wood beams on the hot tub/grilling patio are amazing. Wonderful views. Lots of opportunities for hiking and in the area. WiFi was good all week. This is a really nice cabin.Host is a good communicator. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Excellent property that offers total seclusion and a chance to rejuvenate. Cell service is pretty much non-existent ( at least on the Verizon network). That being said the property has an excellent WiFi signal. Cottage offers all the amenities and the kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking essentials.
Wren’s Nest was an absolute delight. Check-in was easy. Ryan, the host, was so prompt with answers to all questions. The rental is wonderful. The kitchen is fully equipped making it a joy to cook. The leather couch, chair, ottoman and bed were so comfortable providing much relaxation after a long hike on the Appalachian Trail. The owners spared no expense. Quality was a priority as well as detail throughout the entire property. We will definitely be back. Sue & Jim
As part of our 10-year wedding anniversary, my wife and I spent a weekend at this beautiful property. Tucked away in the hills of Marion, it felt like our private oasis. We came from a crowded suburb in NC and quiet of the night and stillness if the starts were mesmerizing. Close enough though to Marion, Abingdon and Damascus we made daily trips to the parks to log miles on the trails. The accommodations were perfect! A comfortable bed, soft sheets and towels and a huge hot tub to boot! Can't recommend this place enough! Thanks again, R!
Ryan is committed to resolving any problems and very available. We had a few issues with power outages and wifi accessibility. Ryan addressed them asap and added he was in the process of making a permanent upgrade. Enjoyed local hiking and was pleasantly surprised to have a visitor, small black bear, whom ran at our first noise. Quiet and full of solitude.
The property was still in a brand new state, well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub was big and worked as expected (the cover was super easy to move away and replace). The immediate area was quiet and private. The property was clean and supplied with nice linens, pillows and towels. The road up turns into a one lane gravel path but not much traffic after that point. We had no cell service from AT&T nor Verizon phones so screenshotting the check-in info would have been a good idea before we arrived. There was a service outage for the WiFi that was unusually long, according to the property owner. It was unfortunate but out of his control. We had a good stay.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Ryan has curated a truly exceptional guest experience. This isn't just a rental; it's a meticulously cared-for home that sets a new standard for VRBO quality. We honestly can't recommend it enough. What immediately impressed us was the unparalleled quality of the amenities. Often, rentals cut corners on the basics, but not here. The house is incredibly well-stocked, featuring everything you could possibly need, from kitchen gadgets to emergency supplies. The attention to detail is remarkable—from the chef-grade pans that made cooking a pleasure, to the wonderfully thick, luxurious towels in the bathroom. It felt less like a rental and more like staying at a friend's upscale, perfectly organized home. For those seeking escape, the property offers more than just privacy; it delivers genuine seclusion. It’s quiet, peaceful, and truly feels like your own private retreat where you can completely switch off. Coupled with the quiet surroundings, the house itself is profoundly comfortable. Every piece of furniture, bed, and common area has clearly been chosen for maximum relaxation, making it easy to settle in and immediately feel at home.If you are looking for a getaway that prioritizes high-end details, incredible comfort, and total privacy, book Ryan's VRBO immediately. You won't be disappointed!
This is the BEST VRBO that I have ever stayed in. This property is a new construction so my husband and I were the first guests. The home is beautiful and decorated so nicely. The owner didn't spare any expense and has everything that you could possibly need. The views out of the expansive sliding doors and windows is so pretty. The rhododendrons were in bloom and deer showed up every morning to munch on the flowers. There is a creek at the bottom of the hill - you can't see it from the property but you can hear it and it so calming. This property is in the woods so you have total privacy and complete darkness at night which leads to some great sleep on the super comfy bed. The town of Marion is about 20 minutes away and you can find some great food at Pizza Perfect and the Hungry Mother Grill. Hungry Mother State Park is also in that area and there are some great hiking trails. I recommend the Lake Loop Trail for some beautiful views. This property is fantastic and I truly can't wait to visit again. Ryan, thank you SO much for this beautiful property.
