Snowy Stay

  • 5 of 5

We (college students) visited the cabin over our spring break and loved it even with the 7in of snow we got. Glad we had a 4 wheel vehicle! Walked into an inviting home with the heat already on and the hot tub set up for use. We fished up stream a bit past the very nice gazebo and caught some nice trout which was good based on the weather. Very country and welcoming town where everyone waves when you pass them on the roads. Closest neighbors were about a half mile down the road and were very nice, offered to help with the snow. Heating the home was no issue with the three heaters. All necessary cooking supplies were available and tv/movie selection was large. The bed was very comfortable. We visited the small town of West Jefferson, (30 min) got lots of great discounted stuff and a nice lunch at an awesome brewery called Boondocks. (Hal suggested it) Our only complaints were the showers is kind of short but manageable and trash is to be taken with you on your way out (dropped off at a dump about 15 min up the road). Definitely would come back in the summer to enjoy the cabin and river to its full effect. Strongly suggest this cute little vacation spot for a couples get away in the mountains.

Peaceful is an understatement!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is more beautiful in person than the pictures . We arrived late Thursday night and woke up Friday to a light dusting of snow. The view from the hot tub is unreal :) Short drive to West Jefferson where there is a cute town with plenty to-do ( cheese factory, brewery, shops, etc) The cabin itself is stocked with movies which kept us quite entertained. Everything is clean and well taken care of. Hal and Margie are great, we called to add our dog last minute and they were super understanding and accommodating. We did not want to leave and are already planning our next trip. If you are looking for seclusion this cabin is perfect for you! We could not have enjoyed our stay more! :)

Great relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to come for a relaxing weekend. Cabin was just as described and even better than the photos showed. Owners were very accommodating! Very quiet weekend. No problem with phone or internet service although to be honest.i was hoping it wouldn't work. :) my only suggestions would be a deck of cards and a wine bottle opener! Wonderful place, can't wait to go back again!

We will be back again

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay.... Just like the first it was perfect. We stayed for the weekend, and only left one time to go eat at that Saturday night. I knew from our first visit it was so easy to relax and we did just that. We just brought our breakfast to cook and other easy meals. We spent most of our days in the hot tub or napping or just watching TV. When we arrived the gas logs were on and the house was nice and toasty. It rained almost the whole time, but we did not care at all. The only thing i would do next time is bring paper plates and cups. There is not a dishwasher which is not biggie. I just don't like to wash dishes. LOL

We hope to go back this summer and spend another few days. Thank you again for sharing this sweet cabin with us......

This is such a cute little cabin, perfect for a couple. We spent New Years weekend enjoying the snow while in the hot tub. We couldn't ask for a better experience. A little gem in the NC mountains.

This place was perfect, we will definitely be back! Hal and Margie were quick to respond to any question or issues we had! It was in a beautiful location! The hot tub was great especially being able to sit in it on Christmas while watching it snow! We are planning on coming back in April!
