Fontana Lake-Access Cabin, Pet-Friendly, Game Room

🌲 Five Echos – Secluded Cabin Retreat Near the Lake 🌲

Game Room • Forest Views • Water Access

Tucked deep in the woods, Five Echos is a cozy cabin retreat where peace, play, and a touch of storybook magic come together. Legend has it this cabin once belonged to a Swiss-German yodeler (yes, really!)—so don’t be surprised if the forest feels alive with echoes of its past.

Just a 5 to 10 minute walk from the lake, this hideaway blends rustic charm with modern comforts, making it the perfect escape for families, couples, or friends looking to relax, reconnect, and recharge.

Inside, soaring floor-to-ceiling windows frame the forest, while the warm woodsy interior and thoughtful amenities make you feel right at home. Step outside to stargaze, roast marshmallows by the fire pit, and share laughter echoing through the trees.

Highlights You’ll Love:
🌿 Secluded & Peaceful – Surrounded by forest views
🚶 Lake Access – Only a 5 to 10 minute walk to your own lake access point
🎮 Game Room Fun – Air hockey, oversized Connect Four & more
🔥 Cozy Fire Pit – Perfect for stories, s’mores & starry skies
🍳 Chef-Ready Kitchen – Double oven, wine fridge, French door fridge & breakfast bar
🎞️ Movie Nights – Smart TV + DVD library for rainy days
❄️ All-Season Comfort – Central A/C + toasty electric fireplace
🛶 Easy Lake Days – Pontoon rentals at nearby marinas

Your storybook mountain escape awaits at Five Echos—where every stay is filled with peace, play, and a little bit of magic. 🌟

About the Lake Access -

5 Echos is close to the lake but is not a lakefront property. The water is not on the property itself. To reach it, you follow the road down from the cabin, past a neighboring home, to an access point at the shoreline. Plan on a 5 to 10 minute walk each way.

At the water there is a small floating platform. You can tie off a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard, and it works fine as a launch point for getting out on the water. The platform is older and in rough shape, so we do not recommend using it for sitting, sunbathing, or spending time on the dock itself.

A few things to plan for so your expectations are set:

- The access is a 5 to 10 minute walk down the road, not steps from the cabin. Getting gear down and back takes some effort, so pack light for the water.
- There is no boat ramp or launch here. You cannot back a trailer down or drop a boat in the water at this access point.
- The final stretch to the shoreline is a natural grass and dirt slope, not a finished walkway. Wear appropriate shoes and use care, especially with kids or anything you are carrying.
- Think of this as a convenient way to get onto the lake for paddling or a swim, not as a private waterfront lounging area.
- If getting out on the water easily is the main goal of your trip, we are happy to point you to nearby public boat launches and marinas.

✹ Private Access
Enjoy full, private access to the entire home during your stay—your mountain retreat awaits!

Attic Space - The attic area is heated by a space heater. The AC unit in this room does not produce heat when outdoor temperatures drop too low, so the space heater is used to keep the area warm and comfortable.

✹ Starter Essentials Provided
We’ve stocked the home with a starter supply of must-haves: shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper, detergent pods, and more—just enough to get you settled in comfortably.

✹ Parking
Free parking is available for 3 vehicles in driveway. Please note: the driveway is steep. It’s manageable (we’ve had no trouble with a minivan), but if you’re more comfortable, you can park at the bottom and walk up a short distance to the house.
Note: not suitable for lowered cars.

✹ Work-Friendly Wi-Fi
Enjoy high-speed internet throughout the home, plus a cozy nook ideal for remote work or casual browsing.
⛔ Heads up: Being in the mountains means occasional outages. If there’s an issue before your stay, we’ll let you know right away so you can plan ahead. We also provide DVD players and movies as a backup option for entertainment.

✹ Family-Friendly Touches
Traveling with kids? We’ve got you covered with a Pack ’n Play/travel crib, and children’s dinnerware to make your stay more comfortable for the whole family.

✹ Pet-Friendly Property
We love furry guests! 🐾 Up to 2 dogs are welcome per reservation with a $150 per pet fee. All pets must be put in crate if left alone. No pets are allowed on furniture or beds. You are required to clean up pet waste in the yard to keep it clean for our future guests.

✹Important Note About Fontana Lake Water Levels
Fontana Lake is a man-made reservoir managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Each year, from September to November, the TVA gradually lowers the water level by up to 60 feet as part of its routine lake management.

While this process is gradual and the lake remains scenic, water levels during this time—especially in the later months—may be noticeably lower than in summer. Guests booking earlier in the season are less likely to see a significant difference.

Fishing and the lake’s natural beauty are not impacted by this wter level adjustment. Water levels typically return to normal by April, though exact timing may vary depending on the TVA's schedule.

✹Please note that this property is at the end of a mile long gravel road. It is safe and easy to traverse all year long, but if you arrive for the first time at night it may be intimidating. If you are on a motorcycle or are trailering motorcycles be aware that you will have to use a long gravel road. The driveway is very steep, but we have been

The cabin is a very complete cabin, very well equipped, it needs absolutely nothing there are kitchen utensils even condiments and most importantly for me the coffee, it was an incredible experience with a good view and very close to the lake, the only detail I had was that one of the rooms. It didn't cool down, but that wasn't a problem that prevented it from happening. At most it was very short but very nice stay

Excellent property and wonderful hosts. This was a beautiful space for two families for a quick weekend trip. Our kids loved the sleeping spaces and the air hockey table. Our adults loved the view and the coffee options. Great internet access, plenty of movie options, and a really great weekend. We would 100% come back again. :-)

The home was great. The deck is very nice. The view was nice. The term "lake access" is liberal. I didn't find a safe way to get to it. The fire pit area wasn't as large as the photos make it appear. Other than those two critiques, it was a great stay, especially if you like remote.
