About the property

Hot tub, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Full Bathrooms, 2 Kitchens, Stocked Pantry, 2 livingrooms

This spacious, open 2600 square foot home sits majestically in the midst of the Arapaho National Forest amongst the tall pines and the colorful aspens. This home features two living areas, one upstairs and one downstairs. The large open floor plan is perfect for family gatherings or multi-couple getaways. Our Arctic Spa hot tub is great for soaking and star gazing or watching the snowflakes fall while relaxing & soaking after a long day on the slopes or trails.

A full, modern kitchen upstairs features granite countertops, a gas range with a warming drawer & convection oven, a full well stocked walk-in pantry as well as plenty of pots, pans and accessories to make a full family meal. We have a Keurig coffee maker with a 'starter supply' of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Feel free to bring along your favorite brew. WE also have a regular Mr. Coffee coffee pot for those that prefer a full pot. The downstairs kitchen features an electric range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave.

Keep everyone entertained with a flat panel TV in almost every bedroom and living area, complimentary broadband wireless, cable TV, a computer in the upstairs common area, and a Wii and a DVD player with plenty of movies for everyone to enjoy. We also have a wide variety of board games.

Curl up with one of our books in our comfortable sunroom.

A spacious, ground level two car garage is a perfect place to store all of that ski gear and it includes a boot and glove dryer to keep those ski boots toasty all night long. Feel free to park your car in the garage…it will accommodate most cars and SUVs.

Exterior doors on the home are equipped with electronic touch pads to facilitate easy access…no keys to handover or lose track of.

There is plenty of room to spread out in this home. Even if there are only two couples in your party, you can each have your own floor with a complete kitchen, laundry room and living room. The home is bright, open and features plenty of windows to allow you to experience beautiful mountain living.

The master bedroom features a king-sized memory foam bed. Two other bedrooms each feature a queen-sized memory foam beds. Each bed has high quality, Egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters as well as firm and soft pillows.

Give the kids their own space…our fourth bedroom features a bunkroom. One bunk bed with twin size bed on top, and full size bed on bottom and a separate twin bed can easily accommodate four. We also have a pack and play for your little ones. Along with a blow up air mattress if needed (queen size).

Our master bedroom has an en suite master bath that includes a very large two-person Jacuzzi jetted tub, separate water closet and a full closet. Each of the other bathrooms comes equipped with a toilet, tub and shower. Two water heaters provide plenty of hot water for all of those competing demands. Every shower has a Shampoo/Conditioner/Bath Gel dispenser... so no need to bring your own supplies.

A large 1,000 square foot outdoor, elevated deck adds to the ambiance of this mountain retreat. Sip your coffee, enjoy your favorite beverage, fire up the grill or simply sit and watch the wildlife in this outdoor space. Enjoy the Arctic Spa hot tub too...it will accommodate 5-6 people.

Come and enjoy the beauty of this mountain retreat. We are pet friendly, family oriented and have worked hard to think of each and every detail to make your stay in the Breckenridge area special.

About Samantha

Samantha grew up in a military (Navy) family moving from place to place... Married Mike, a military (Army) man... Yes, it made for some interesting conversations at family gatherings. Mike retired from the Army in 2007 and continues to work in the defense industry. Samantha is a Financial Advisor that works with Soldiers and their families. We love the outdoors and our dogs and horses. We live in Salado, Texas which is just North of Austin.

Samantha purchased this house in 2013

Why Samantha chose South Breckenridge

We were invited up to the Breck area to ski with some friends that we were stationed with in Germany. We both fell in love with the area and were determined to find a place to 'escape' the Texas heat. Our search brought us to this wonderful home that is just a short distance from all the activities in Breckenridge... but still has that serene peaceful feeling of being in the country. Sitting up on the second story deck drinking a cup of coffee while watching the moose (yes, moose) wander around below is the ideal start to the day. Being minutes away from great hiking, biking, fishing, and skiing is a perk too. Having a dog friendly neighborhood was key for us too. Being able to jump in your car and drive less than 5 miles to great food, shopping and entertainment and skiing makes this the full package. It just doesn't get any better than this. If you love all things outdoors... this is the perfect place..

What makes this house unique

Two seperate kitchens, living areas and laundry facilities (one on each floor) makes this a great place for big families or many couples. Lots of space to spread out.

Flat panel TV's in bedrooms and living rooms. Quiet reading room upstairs so you can enjoy the sun and read a great book. Wii, DVD player and moves, games and puzzles in living areas for family fun time. Wifi throughout the house. Computer station upstairs just in case you forgot your computer. Variety of toys for all ages.

Outdoor playground right around the corner.

We have tried to think of everything to make your stay enjoyable and worry free to include all the bulky baby items such as a pack n play, highchair, booster chair, baby gates (for the stairs), plates, sippy cups, etc. we even tried to think of the four legged family members...water/food bowls, crates, toys and an endless supply of tennis balls.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed our stay at your Breckenridge home. Thank you. It was a perfect fit for us. Hopefully, you found the residence in good condition upon our departure.

Otherwise, nothing else we are aware of.

Fantastic host and beautiful cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay. The convenient location to downtown Breckenridge made getting around very easy. The house is well equipped as described, a perfect place to spend time with family and friends.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind words about our cabin. We too love the location. You are close enough to town to make a quick trip but far enough to enjoy the peaceful pines and nature around you. I love to hike around the neighborhood and the lake. Glad the family had fun.

Perfect Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our group's needs - two families with lots of children. The setup was great for the kids to be downstairs and adults upstairs with plenty of room for everyone. Everything in the home was nice and well kept, and the hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing! The location was nice too, in a quiet beautiful area but very close to town. The owners were very helpful and made sure someone came and fixed the gas fireplaces the first day we were there (and they worked perfect for our whole stay). We loved the "pay it forward" concept on food and supplies and tried to leave ample supplies for the next group. We also got to meet the neighborhood dog, Wesley, which the kids loved. All in all you couldn't go wrong with this vacation home. We will be back for sure.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you all had such a great time at the cabin. Wesley is usually the hit of the neighborhood. We always say he is the Mayor and Head Huncho of the Welcoming committee. Who doesn't love a big Golden Retriever. Glad you like the 'pay it forward' concept of the pantry. WE love the ability to help people have some staples in the home to start off with. Can't wait to have you back.

Perfect spot for family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this property was great...even before we arrived! Samantha was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything. She gave me information about grocery stores, local photographers, and even got us an extra pack-n-play and high chair for our two grandsons. (There was already one at the cabin.) I felt like I was working with a friend! The cabin was wonderful--comfortable, welcoming and well-appointed. We had 6 adults and 3 little kids, yet we all had plenty of space to be together or have some separate quiet time. Love the "Pay-It-Forward" idea; it was so nice to have the basics already on hand in the pantry, etc. when we arrived. Those who come for skiing will appreciate the fact that you are so close to Breckenridge Resort. You are the opposite way of traffic, which is a real plus at the end of a long day! The hot tub, huge kitchen and heated two-car garage are all great, but my personal favorite was the reading nook. We are already planning our next trip and hope to return to Tranquility at 10,000 feet!

Owner's Response: We love it when we have awesome guests stay at our cabin. We too think the 'pay it forward' idea is the best. It is a win/win for every guest. The sunroom/reading room is my favorite room too. Just so peaceful and relaxing. Sitting under the stars in the hot tub is another favorite. Love that. Can't wait to have you visit again.

Excellent Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

This house is amazing! We had plenty of space and the hosts provided excellent accommodations. We were a group of 7 adults and had plenty of elbow room. The location was perfect for skiing at Breck, Loveland, Keystone, and a short drive to Vail and Copper. Would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you all had such a great time in our home. We love the roominess too. It gives everyone the opportunity to spread out but still come together. With the shuttle stop close by, it also gives you opportunities to head to the slopes at different time. We hope to see you back again in the near future.

Fun in the Snow

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect. Well equipped with anything you can think of. Jacuzzi and BBQ were a great addition. Beds were very comfortable and had plenty of size. The cool thing about the house was the kind of take something leave something mentality. I hope the next people get use out of the things we left behind. Awesome house all together and Samantha was very helpful and easy to work with. Would definitely come back.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you had such a great time at our cabin. We too love the idea of leaving something behind for the next guest to use. It helps keep the pantry stocked and not waste items... and also gives people a chance to try something that they may not have tried before... It could be something as simple as some K-cups or some of your favorite snacks that you just didn't eat. It is our own way of paying it forward so to speak. We look forward to having you back in our home in the future.

Perfect Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect place for our family from California and Texas to meet. Everything from the booking to our arrival to our stay was made easy and pleasant by the owners. The house was in a great location and was clean with all the accommodations and amenities we could have wanted. The owners were extremely responsive to any questions and requests we had and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Can't wait to go back again to see what Colorado has to offer in the summer. Would recommend this property. Thanks for helping us make great family memories.
