About the property

Studio condo: full kitchen, ocean view/access with sandy beach, pier, and float

The Sunfish #676319, Sloop #488351, and Mainsail/Jib #676320 are all located on the small property of Water's Edge Condominium and Cottages. These can be rented together for large groups allowing private accommodations, however, close proximity and common grounds and amenities. These are in a unique Waterfront Community. This condominium unit is on Linekin Bay in East Boothbay and has deep water access. Water's Edge has only 21 units, suites and cottages that are privately owned with access to the Association Dock/Float and beach. This community is a short drive into Boothbay Harbor. Imagine sitting on the dock and watching the sunset with your first glass of wine after hiking the nearby forest preserves, sea kayaking or taking a brisk swim on the private beach. This is a laid back village that is very quiet and private. Cabbage island is just across the bay for famous clam bakes and the harbor town is a short drive away for night life and boating excursions for dancing, music and whale and seal and Puffin watching. Rent a kayak or boat and take advantage of seeing this area from the water. Camp Leott Sloop is a newly renovated and beautifully maintained first floor unit very close to the water. Sloop has a fully equipped kitchen with attractive granite counter tops and a glass tile back splash, microwave, coffeemaker, dorm refrigerator, and more, a 3/4 bath with private dressing area, new king bed, dining table and chairs, swivel glider chair and covered outdoor deck. Envision yourself collecting live lobster from the lobster men off the dock or at the pound and preparing your delicious lobster meal in your own kitchen to be enjoyed outdoors on the deck!

There is a large lawn area directly in front of this unit, shared dock/float, beach access and plenty of outdoor seating to watch our famous sunsets. Linekin Bay is a wonderful area for kayaking (rentals are available nearby), hiking in the many forest preserves, one is just across the street and joins with another to the Damariscotta River, sailing, walking along the ocean and collecting the abundant sea glass and shells to take with you as mementos of your Maine Vacation.

The covered outdoor deck has a table and chairs for sitting out and enjoying the views of Linekin Bay. Imagine yourself relaxing watching a movie, or out on the deck enjoying the views. Take your morning coffee out on the deck or down to the dock and enjoy watching the Lobster boats pulling in their traps. Shopping for antiques and unique gifts, excellent restaurants, music and historical sites are just a short drive away. Amenities for this unit includes wall mounted flat screen TV with cable, community washers/dryers available without charge, however, detergent is not supplied.

Why Leah and Scott chose East Boothbay

I have been in love with Maine since I first saw a photograph in my fifth grade geography book! The history and landscape are beautiful. Once we met the people of this region we knew we had to live here. We had been looking at real estate resources for many months. One morning my husband said 'honey, I think I found something in Boothbay but I don't know if you will like it' One look at the beautiful sunsets and gorgeous water view and I said ' Let's call and book a flight!' As we drove from Portland to Boothbay we were more and more enthralled with the region and the beauty and the food as we stopped to eat the lobster rolls!! We were certain that it couldn't get any better. As we drove through Wiscassete (The Prettiest Village in Maine) we were touched by the quaintness of this village and the beautiful Sheepscott River, once we entered Boothbay and drove past the General Store there was no stopping!! We made it down Ocean Point road and turned onto the road into Waters Edge just at Sunset!! Wow! What a sight! We were home!! Now, we always make certain we get there in time to purchase our groceries and wine at the grocery store on the way in to be able to get back home in time for the first sunset of our stay. We never get tired of the music, dancing, wonderful food, outdoor activities, and site seeing. We have made many friends in our short time in this area. We have explored the nearby towns of Bath, Brunswick, Wiscassete, Edgecomb, Damariscotta, Camden, Hollowell, and Castine but always are so happy to return to this very quiet and serene place on the water. Ahhh Heaven!!

Guestbook comments from the manager

The studio was a warm and cozy space after days of exploring the Boothbay area. This was our first trip to Maine and we will certainly return. There are many simple journeys close to the area. We imagined travelling up the cost would be more of an adventure, however, we were more than satisfied with spending our four days in the area around the bay. Lobster is just the start of the delicious, home style food ice cream, fried fish, blueberry buckle and other goodies abound in the small stands and restaurants. Thanks! Your place was great through the trip and gave a comforting place to return to each evening.

Sweet little cabin on the bay

  • 5 of 5

Everything in this cabin has been remodeled and is very tastefully decorated. Leah was very responsive to our needs and helped us find local hikes and other beautiful destinations that we might have missed. It's so lovely to see the water at sunrise and sunset right from the room and especially from the porch. The beach and dock are part of the property also.

Beautiful Site and Locale, Cute and well equipped space.

  • 4 of 5

The location on Ocean Point Rd is perfect, far enough from the downtown to be peacefully quiet, and close enough to be there in a few minutes. Also, it's just a short drive from the point itself where there is a small rocky beach for swimming and rocky coastline drive and tide pools and rocks to walk on. The condo was very nice, clean and well fitted with everything one might need. I only have a couple small suggestions. The foam over mattress was too soft for me and I felt like I was sinking into the bed, and the bedcover was too warm and there was no lighter blanket. Also, since my partner is a night owl and I am an early bird, it was hard to sleep with the sconce on as there was no reading lamp. A floor lamp for the armchair would be perfect. Kudos for the beach chairs under the bed and the ceiling fan!
