About Pete

My wife and partner/owner are realtors who have owned here since it was new. As realtors we understand that homes should be kept up to date, and we do this constantly to ensure an accommodation for our guest with all reliable facilities. We love the quiet, community atmosphere to get away from all the hustle and bustle and enjoy a quieter Mexican life style with the opportunity to occasionally enjoy the activities of a simpler tourist town, to swim, golf, fish and eat out.

Pete purchased this condo in 1997

Why Pete chose Zona Hotelera

A very small complex of only 48 units where there is a very friendly atmosphere but exceptionally close to shopping for everyday items and great restaurants.

What makes this condo unique

Quiet times on the beach watching the fish jump, the whales swimming by or watching the surf roll in. Life at 'Viva' is GOOD.

A family atmosphere where small groups of owners and guests often join together for social time.

Location and condo both excellent

  • 5 of 5

Perfect condo for our needs...clean, well stocked, ground level, beautiful ocean side location. We are seniors+.. :) from Colorado and decided to not rent a car since our stay would be short and a test of the area. Using the Urbano bus was easy....just hailed and paid $1 USD each every time we boarded..rustic ride but taxis are also parked and several restaurants very close by...we each took our own shopping bags and shopped daily. Our Mexican neighbors could not have been more gracious and always helpful even though we speak very little Spanish. We'll be back.....gratias!

Great Place for true relaxation

  • 5 of 5

We were there for 8 nights and had an awesome stay. I would recommend this one bedroom place to anyone over an all inclusive. It has everything you need. It's right on the beach. Grocery store and restaurants are all within walking distance or short cab rides. We ate in 4 nights and out 4 nights and it cost less then it would have at an all inclusive. It is not a huge place so would be tight with more than two people in it. Especially once the couch is opened. But we like travelling this way as we both hate hotel rooms. The other owners that were there were very friendly. We were invited to join in their happy hour every night which was fun. We will definitely go back. We may even look at renting 4 units soon and take our 3 adult boys and their significant others.

Excellant Viva Condo

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Viva several times, but this was the first time in this unit. While we love the Viva Condos for not only the location on the beach, the well maintained grounds, the Mega & other shops/restaurant within easy walking distance, but also the owners & the regular renters. There is a reason the renters come back year after year, but you will have to discover that for yourself.

Peters unit is one of the best we stayed in. It was well stocked w/o feeling like there was a lot of stuff. The furniture & beds were comfortable. We like that there was beach chairs available for our use. The location seemed more private to us then a couple other units we have rented. We look forward to being able to rent this one again.

We spent new years at the condo and everything about it was wonderful! The condos themselves had VERY little damage caused by the hurricane (A few workers around repairing tennis court, but almost finished, and pool heater broken). There was no damage to the unit itself and everything was very beautiful. The ocean view from the condo is fantastic, and there was EVERYTHING you could need there for you. We loved the personal notes written in the guestbook and the other tenants were extremely friendly and even invited us to celebrate new years with them.

The pull out couch was not super comfortable, but as expected for a hide-a-bed. However, there were some long mats in the outside closet which we put under the sheets and they made it comfortable. The bed in the bedroom was really comfortable. The sea was beautiful, and swimmable. However, there was drop off in the sand so we found it more relaxing to take a float in the sea with us. Beautiful beach and beautiful surroundings.

Mega is only a few blocks from the condo, and the condo has a variety of small restaurants, cafes, and a park just a block away. Great location to walk and catch buses to the Historic Downtown and even to San Lucas for the day. Buses to Historic district cost 10 pesos each way and to San Lucas 32 pesos each way. We even took a bus from the airport to the Mega for 65 pesos and then walked from there to the condo. We could not have asked for a better trip or location, and are hoping very much to be able to go back one day!!

A Great Week at Viva!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to this part of Mexico and our first experience renting through VRBO. It was top notch on all fronts. The condo we rented (#3) was as advertised, not fancy, but clean, comfortable and containing everything we could possibly need. The grounds of the Viva complex are very well maintained, the pool is beautiful and we made good use of the on-site barbecue. Long term renters/owners were friendly and helpful and we quickly felt right at home. The location is perfect...right on the beach...and walking distance to all amenities. Even a walk to downtown San Jose was not difficult. We loved using the local Urbano buses and it was an affordable way to get around. Likewise, the inter-urban bus to Cabo San Lucas is easily accessed. All in all, this was an excellent place to get our feet wet in this part of Mexico and we would highly recommend Viva.

Owner's Response: Thanks Glen. We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves. All of your comments reflect the reasons we bought Viva so long ago - its friendliness, convenience and especially the beach. Thanks.

Loved our stay!! Very convenient location, short walk to the bus stop and the mega store. Can easily walk downtown or take the bus for 10 pesos. Clean, quiet, it's like a home away from home.
