Gorgeous view great price

This condo was perfect location and a great condo for its price. It was very clean and had a gorgeous view that could not be beat. Our only complaint was road noise, and a daily sewer smell that was coming from somewhere on the property not from this unit. Other than that, it was quiet, beautiful, clean and owner is fantastic to work with!

Perfect vacation!

First of all: Amazing views!!! The unit was nice and clean. Perfect location to access the whole island. Costco & Walmart nearby for savings $$. Happy hour with toes in the sand at the lava lava beach club (5 min walk). Shayne is a wonderful host. Will rent the same unit when i return to beautiful Kauai...

Great Property, Great Value!

The property's location is central to the entire island. The perfect home base! The ocean view and beach next door are wonderful. The home was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, including beach gear, well stocked kitchen and misc. personal items such as bug spray, sun block, lens cleaner, etc...These items may or may not be stocked by owner or left by other guests. Either way, they were great to have! Owner, Shayne, was also great to work with. We will be back! A hui hou!

Great Value with a Great View

Very comfortable condo at the right price range. The lanai looks out over the Pacific offering the sounds of the waves and wonderful sunrises! All the technology works smoothly, comfortable furniture, handy kitchen, and lots of beach supplies. Air conditioner in the bedroom helps counter the road noise. There is some noticeable road noise in the bedroom area that does prevent this condo from being perfect. It doesn't keep you awake all night, but it does make it hard to let the waves lull you to sleep.

But the positives balance that out to 4 stars. Clean pool area, close parking, great property supervisor, wonderful front lawn (ocean side), quiet neighbors, some shopping and eating just across the street.

The beach area is just to the west of the property, one needs to walk a few feet down a sidewalk and through a parking lot to get to it. Lots of sand and water and also often larger waves. Some people swam there, some fished there. most walked the beach. A really safe swimming snorkeling beach (with lifeguards) is at Lyndgate State Park just a few minutes down the road.

If you're only going to stay at one place while on Kauai, this east coast location might be the best, giving you easy access to both the south and north coasts of Kauai. Plus lots of things to see and do in the Lihue, Wailua and Kapaa area.

A lovely ocean view with the soothing sounds of the breaking waves.

Our host made it very easy to locate the property and provided appreciated detail to gain access to the unit and many of the local amenities. The unit was well equipped and offered a welcomed home to return to from our day's activities. The balcony overlooks the bay and we enjoyed our time with the accompanying views. The bedroom was air-conditioned which made a restful sleep.

There wasn't clarity on the check in/ check out times. When we got there around 1130 am we registered our car and the guy told us he wasn't sure if we could check in yet. There was nothing in our paperwork about that and he didn't clarify what time check in was (but he was friendly). Luckily we were able to go in (the cleaning lady was there but we just chatted).

Because there weren't details on check out, we thought leaving around 1130 would be fine - but the cleaning lady showed up, knocked on our door around 10, and basically barged in when we answered. She started doing laundry agreed to come back in an hour so we could get dressed and load our car. Very nice woman but the whole thing was very confusing.

The towels smelled mildewy so we had to rewash them. Pretty sure someone left them in the washer and forgot about them.

The bedroom window faces the main road so it's loud. We just put a fan in front of the window so we could drown out the noise and keep the windows open for air instead of using the AC.

The beach it is on is not very clean. Lot's of trash and debris. But you can watch a lot of windsurfers. For swimming I would go to another location.

*We would stay here again because of the location and affordability.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review! I'm sorry that there was confusion regarding your check in and out times. That certainly can lead to an uncomfortable departure :( Check in and out times are detailed in my confirmation of payment document. I send this document once I have received your final payment, and try to include some great tips to help you plan your stay on Kauai! In your case, this was sent 34 days before your arrival. I encourage all to print this document for reference upon arrival. We always try to accommodate our guests' schedules where possible. Our default check in time is 3pm and our check out time is 10am. I think you will find this to be fairly similar to most accommodations around the world. I try to avoid having too many signs or postings in my units, as I want my guests to feel like they are in their own home during their stay, but if this becomes a common complaint, I will definitely post more information for clarity. The fellow you met in the parking lot was our Property Manager Tim. While he is friendly and will often stop for a chat, he is not responsible for assisting in the operation of our units. This one-bedroom condominium is a true owner-managed rental. Unlike a hotel, we do not have an extensive support staff on duty. I think this is where VRBO shines as an opportunity to be a little more independent in exchange for a great ocean front property at a fraction of the cost of a hotel room! Thank you VRBO!
