The Space:

Inside this spacious, newly-renovated home, discover soaring ceilings of rich wood and exposed beams as well as multiple windows and sliding glass doors that open out to the ocean-facing deck. Prepare all your favorite meals in the well-equipped, full kitchen and dine at the nearby table or head outside for the perfect alfresco experience with the aid of your own gas grill. The yard is enclosed and gated offering a safe and secure space for the family dogs. Back indoors, the main living area offers a plush sectional, swivel chairs, a fireplace, and a TV for streaming all your favorite channels. Browse the many shelves brimming with books or choose from one of the provided board games for fun afternoons.



Choose from four well-appointed bedrooms including a main bedroom and a junior suite with desks and chairs, TVs, and en suite bathrooms. These rooms also offer private access out to the deck. Listen to the ocean crashing on the rocks as you drift off to sleep or enjoy your own soundtrack via the Bluetooth receiver with tower speakers.

All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

We’ve stayed in many homes over the past several years and this by far has been our favorite. The house has a perfect layout for a large family. The master bedroom is incredible, with several sitting areas to enjoy the beautiful views. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. We also loved that it was near Russian Gulch State Park, which has great hiking and access down to the ocean. It’s also a very large lot so the kids had plenty of space to play outdoor games. We are already talking about booking this house for next year!

We loved this vacation! Beautiful home and location. Every year we travel to the area and have to say this rates one of our top favorite stays! Everything we needed or wanted was in the home snd walking distance to state beaches! It was unusually warm this year so a few extra fans were needed but a quick drive into town and we were all set! The dogs were thrilled with the yard and awaiting toys, and the games and books made resting evenings a perfect garhering time for our party of 8! Everyone was comfy and the views were stunning! We so loved our stay at Rosemary's Retreat!

The pictures in the listing do not do this place justice. It is absolutely gorgeous. The decor is very eclectic, but rich and the whole place has beautiful surprises around every corner. The property around the house is gorgeous as well. And I can’t say enough good things about it. If I were a wealthy person, I would make a very attractive offer to purchase the property.

BEWARE

Not as advertised. Pull down dirt gravel road for 1/2 mile. Come to cobweb covered gate. Yard is dead; weeds, dirt, no maintenance. Front entry is broken slider with padlock for security. Can not lock/secure slider from inside. Safety issue. Everything you touch is broken. Maintenance IS NOT important here. Bath water looked like pee. The ONLY plus for this property is the view. Mgmt Co was very difficult to work with. Do not give this owner you $$$$.

Stunning Location

Rosemary's Retreat is a gorgeous property and clearly a beloved family home. It has an absolutely stunning location (better than the photos) and you can spend the entire time just staring at the ocean. The location is walkable to the gorgeous Russian Gulch State park, with nice hiking trails. The home is clean, spacious and well-equipped. The living room sectional is devine. My only suggestion would be to add some reading chairs to the back porch. Our dog loved the outdoor area and the home is extremely pet friendly, which is so appreciated. We had a very frustrating arrival process. You should 100% stay here but you need to know a few simple things that were not communicated prior to arrival. Most importantly, it is very likely that you will not have cell service at the home. Since all instructions are on an app, if you do not screenshot BOTH the access codes and the wifi password ahead of time, you may have issues. (We had screenshotted the access code but not the wifi). Your GPS also probably will not get you to the right place, so ask ahead of time for specific driving directions. Finally, the padlock to access the door operates differently than every other padlock we have ever used. We had to drive back into Mendocino to get cell service and call Vacasa's call center twice before being able to get a local contact. All of this could have been avoided with better instructions and a direct local contact number provided in advance.
