About Ed Beveridge

We are Ed & Jo Beveridge, the proud owners of the Spoon Lake Lodge since the middle of summer 2013. We fell in love with the serenity & beauty of Spoon Lake & the custom log-accented home built by the former owners/custom home builder the minute we saw it.

It's our little slice of heaven in the Flathead forest just outside Glacier National Park and we would like you to enjoy it too. So many of the summer guests that were already booked when we bought the lodge expressed a desire to return and this convinced us that we could share our lovely spot on Spoon Lake for years to come.

I'm Ed & I was born in Montana. I have spent most of my life living in or visiting Montana from wherever life has taken me. You never can get Montana out of your blood. I have been enjoying Glacier National Park like my parents most of my life & lived for many years on Flathead Lake. We also enjoyed Whitefish Lake for over 10 years when our kids were younger.

My wife, Jo, is a converted Minnesota girl who loves her loons & the mountain lakes in Montana. We have been bringing our three sons here since they were little. They are all in college now, The oldest two are married and we have 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson. The third is getting married in June 2017. We're still converting South Dakota, Arizona and now Washington women to the Montana dream.......so far they are sold!

Ed Beveridge purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Ed Beveridge chose Glacier Country

This property is 8 miles north of Columbia Falls, a little town between Whitefish & West Glacier. Historic & remote Polebridge is 27 miles further up the road with remote access to glacial lakes along the western slopes of GNP. The pavement ends about 3 miles past Spoon Lake after the back road short cut, Blankenship Road turn off to West Glacier. Everyone who has stayed at the Spoon Lake lodge seems to spend most of their time hiking, fishing, exploring Glacier Park & all the wonderful surrounding communities & lakes. We offer you a very comfortable place with a spectacular serene view with all the comforts of home at the end of your day. Or just relax & take a spin in the rowboat or kayaks right outside your door.

What makes this cabin unique

The lower apartment is fully contained & locked off from the owner's space on the top two floors. It has a covered patio w/ a bbq and outdoor table & chairs. Walk right out to the grassy lakefront & the outdoor fire ring w/ plenty of chopped wood available for your use. You will have a full kitchen, inside full-sized laundry room, & spacious full bath for showers only. The living room has a large picture window & rock fireplace with gas logs. The bedroom also enjoys a large picture window view to the lake. It has both a queen bed & twin sofa bed. The living room has a new queen sofa bed and two wicker chairs with a cozy gas rock fireplace . All the towels & linens are provided for your arrival. You have the use of the row boat & 2 kayaks. It is a mostly non-motorized 60 acre lake so it's very quiet. If you are visiting while my wife Jo, or one of my daughter-n-laws are upstairs you will no doubt be treated to any number of their fabulous edible creations.............if you're lucky it will be with huckleberries. Feel free to forage for huckleberries. Pray for Huckleberries in abundance.

Serenity + scenery = perfection

  • 5 of 5

This property was everything we'd hoped for and more. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. Everything we needed was right there for us to enjoy our stay. The location of the house would be tough to beat. It was less than a half hour to the park and close enough to explore other parts of the Flathead Valley. After a day of exploring, we could come back to the house, kayak and enjoy the peace and quiet. Ed, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. He responded quickly to emails. We'd love to come back!

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed 6 days and nights. The place is cozy, comfortable and is surrounded by beauty. Inside, the cabin is extremely clean and resonates quality. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and waking up to the view across the lake with your head on the pillow was a great way to start each day. Our two sons slept on the pull out sofa and said they slept just fine. The kitchen has all the standard pots/pans etc. Washer and dryer was nice to have. Bathroom was spacious and very clean. We turned on the fireplace a couple of times as it get chilly in the evenings.

The lake is beautiful. We kayaked, swam and hung out on the nice dock after hiking in the park each day. We had a campfire almost every night with awesome views of the glass like lake. One suggestion Ed.......Could use a splitting mall for the firewood. We borrowed the neighbors, so all worked out.

If you take the short cut it is about a 20 minute drive to the entrance to West Glacier. The park itself is jaw dropping beautiful with many, many hiking and sightseeing options.

The best compliment I can provide is to say, "If we come back to West Glacier, this is the place we will stay at.

Thank you Ed. You were very easy to work with and responded to emails and phone calls very promptly. We had an awesome week!!!

HEAVENLY

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful 20 minute drive from the airport, we step into this stunning log home with a panoramic view of Spoon Lake. Well appointed décor included: tasteful art, interesting books and local information, entertainment center, full kitchen, comfortable furniture and a cozy King size bed. A gorgeous 10 minute drive on Blankenship Road took us to the entrance of Glacier National Park. But there is also quaint Bigfork at massive Flathead Lake and chic Whitefish Village and Lake. We could not have asked for a more fulfilling retreat adventure. This could easily become a yearly experience, just to enjoy the home, lake and water toys. Thank you for making your home available to celebrate nature as God intended.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you got to see God's Country...........Heaven's Peak for instance......and that you got to rekindle old friendships........I hope your friends were as comfortable in the downstairs rental unit as you were in the rest of the lake house......for the record, the king sized bed is only in the owner unit, not in the rental unit......

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Just an excellent experience from check in to check out. A short drive to the park entrance, and minutes to everything you need in Columbia Falls. We just wish that we had more time to explore the park and relax at the lake. We could not have asked for a better place to return to after a long day of hiking in the park. I cannot urge you enough to check out this cabin. The memories made here will last a lifetime.

Relaxing cabin in the heart of Glacier

  • 5 of 5

Just finished 5 nights with my 3 teenagers. The cabin was situated on a small lake and the kids were able to use the kayakes. It was a short 10 minute drive to Glacier National park, this cabin was a wonderful retreat after a long day of hiking!

Highly recommend!
