Why Chad Streid chose Gulf Beaches
We moved to North Florida 20 years ago and visited Saint George Island. We immediately fell in love with the local charm and beauty of the "forgotten coast". Coming from South Florida it reminded us of Sanibel Island before development hit the area. If you're looking for a relaxed, family oriented island to get away from the crowds then this is the place for you!
What makes this House unique
Amazing fishing, with no high rises or large crowds. Area has a local charm that is hard to find, be sure to visit Apalachicola to get the full experience!

This is our 4th year at this property. We love the space, the upgrades, and the location.
Feels like home away from home! Love the space, relaxing by the pool or one one of the decks, and the sunsets are spectacular. Thinking g about a two week stay next year!! Owner very nice to work with!!
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at a Tropical Bay. The changes since our last visit has made the property that much more enjoyable. Fantastic house for large families or multiple families. I would not change a thing.
We couldn't be happier with our stay at "A Tropical Bay"! The house was perfect for our family. There was a little something for everyone. There was much fishing off the wonderful dock and the pool was used every day. We can't wait to return to Saint George Island again someday and hopefully stay at "A Tropical Bay"!
Nothing to see here...;)
The last thing I want to do is give away our best kept family secret so everyone wants to stay at A Tropical Bay, but the honest truth was this home is absolutely exceptional. It is such a beautiful home, gorgeously decorated (pictures are dated on the website and dons't nearly do it justice) and perfectly located on the island. The dock was great for fishing and the boat we rented while on the Island, couldn't have been better to tie up on the dock and hit the water first thing. The sunset views are spectacular, the pool is so perfect the kids had a blast and loved watching the pelicans and boats on the water as they played. My only complaint was Chad didn't have a stocked fridge of adult beverages for my arrival...I wouldn't have been surprised if he did, everything else was perfect and simply amazing. The kitchen accessories are abundant, space is plentiful, the landscaping is gorgeous...kids loved the new beach area to play. I think this is our 6th or 7th year at SGI and this is our favorite location...travel into-and-out of town (as compared to the Plantation) was so easy...we've always been beachfront...not anymore, the Bay front is so amazing, the sunsets and relaxing view is perfect. I hate to give this such a glowing review and everyone know about my secret on SGI but this home is the best of all things, you and your family will love it and leave with many wonderful memories.
Beautiful and relaxing property
The home was beautiful! We had 11 in our party and the home accommodated us well! The home was as advertised. We all enjoyed our stay and will recommend to other friends and family!
Relaxed, beautiful views, family friendly!
This was our second summer at A Tropical Bay and we were impressed with a number of upgrades to their amenities. The owners clearly want their guests to be able to relax and enjoy the island.
Location - close enough to everything on the island - you can walk, bike or golf cart anywhere within minutes.
Property - Home is better than described - balconies everywhere and they added a sandy area great for beach games or just relaxing. Fishing from the dock is fun for everyone and they have a fish cleaning station as well. Everything was clean and they even had cleaning supplies on hand.
Customer Service - Owner was readily available to answer questions and addresses any concerns right away without hesitation.
Recommended for - Families or couples, even two - three families using the nice bunk room for 4 children. Even includes a crib and baby gate for the little ones.
To do - Be sure to go out to the Gulf to see the sunrise at least once, take a bike ride to the east end of the island, eat pizza at BJ's Pizza at least once and go to happy hour at Paddy's and the Blue Parrot. Plan to watch the sunset from the dock at the house every night - it is a different amazing show every time! Most of all, relax, take a nap, enjoy old Florida at it's very best!
Tips - Depending on the time of the year, be sure and be prepared for potential mosquitos and take precautions. Keep a cooler full of water and drinks on the ground floor to be able to enjoy the pool and beach without going up to the kitchen as often.
Outstanding fishing off the homes dock and amazing white sand beaches within walking distance.
