A stunning and serene place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the "Serenity Zen House". the house itself is open and inviting and the views from the 2 decks and the dock are unmatched.

Also, the location of the house was perfect- we were easily able to drive to Watkins Glen and easily explore the many surrounding vineyards, breweries and local eateries.

Finally James is wonderful to work with!

Clean, tidy with plenty of space, then Wow!

  • 5 of 5

One rental is not too much different from another with furnishing. I look for proximity of the property. This house is on a private dead ended road. There's a railway line literally in front of the driveway but only one train in 3 days. House is fully equipped, except scissors. I've only come across one rental with scissors. I usually make up a travel box with these likely missing items but didn't this trip. Anyhow, I digress.. Keep walking through that house to the wow factor..

The lake views, oh my. The upper deck a slight drop to the side deck. Then side steps down to your private jetty and another deck (where you can have a canoe or kayak delivered to!) Oh and a few steps off of that deck a tiny stoney beach area..

Fox run winery within walking distance and dogs are allowed in the tasting room.

Geneva is very pretty and the houses in the historical district are worth a photo or two!

We didn't fancy Watkins Glen and it's crowds this visit but we'll be back.

It's possible too to just block off the two entrances on the main deck and keep our two dogs contained. Nice grass frontage too for a little doggie playtime.

Great place and great location.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week with the family - wife and two boys. A great location right on the water. We fished and swam most days and appreciated the lack of boat traffic on the lake. The house was in good condition and had a lot of space.

Large, well appointed cottage.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is exactly as pictured. Large gathering spaces. A great consideration has been done for your convenience. Paper products, dishes, pots and pans provided. Comfortable furniture and beds. Very convenient to route 14, black top road. Train track is NOT a problem at all. Beach and three level decks are really nice. Neighbors were friendly but not a bother at all. Decks are reasonably very private. Owner quickly responded when we ran out of gas for BBQ. Really enjoyed our visit, highly recommend it.

The house was exactly as advertised... everything was in very, very good repair. Jim, the owner, was accessible and was very responsive to emails and phone calls. The back of the house is lovely with 3 separate decks. Our family had a wonderful time!
