About the property

3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, Sleeps 9

Enjoy this fully restored classic beach house in a quiet Seaside neighborhood. Two short blocks to the beach, the Ocean House features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, plus two other sleeping areas to comfortably accommodate up to nine friends or family members. It's warm and cozy with a high efficiency furnace plus new electric fireplace. You’ll find queen beds in the master bedroom and second bedroom and two single beds in the third bedroom. For your enjoyment after days on the beach, the house features a media room with new 50'' flat screen LED TV with Apple TV, DVD player, and Netflix for movie nights.

The house is fully restored in salvage fir & pine wood and it features a new kitchen and bathrooms as well as a new heating system, natural latex mattresses, and eco-friendly building materials for exceptional indoor air quality and comfort. This spacious, light-filled house is ideal as a retreat space, for family gatherings, or anytime the ocean beckons.

Centrally located in a quiet neighborhood just off the southern side of Seaside’s historic oceanside Promenade, the house is ideal for beach time, nearby golf, surfing at “the Cove,” and hiking Tillamook Head. For family fun, just a half mile away is Seaside’s famous Broadway Street of souvenir shops, bumper cars, cafes, arcades, and “riding the shark.'

About Dan Kent

We're a beach-loving Portland-based family with three kids (ages 16, 12, and 8) plus a German shepherd and young French bulldog. We love to hike Tillamook Head and run on the beach. Our kids boogie board and are learning to surf. Our experience restoring a 1907 house in southeast Portland inspired our work on the Ocean House and, in particular, our commitment to making sure that our guests enjoy a healthy, creative space.

Dan Kent purchased this house in 2013

Why Dan Kent chose Northern Coast

After nearly two decades of visiting the north Oregon coast, we came upon the beach house in summer 2013. It hadn't been significantly worked on since the 1950s and we were inspired to purchase it and restore it with the goal of creating a long-term family retreat. We're excited to be able to share it with friends, family, and our VRBO guests.

Close to the Prom, easy walk to downtown, cozy home.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I love going to the Pacific coast and have visited Seaside several times. This was by far the best place we have stayed so far. With enough room for all six of us to do our own thing and inviting living areas where we could play games, we had a great time. Our favorite part of this home was the location. Couple of blocks from the Prom with an easy walk to downtown. I would stay at this home again in the future.

Great Eco House

  • 5 of 5

We love staying at this house. This was our second stay. The house is comfortable for all and well equipped with very nice appliances and exquisite beds. It's a little further down from the center of town but still an easy walk to the promanade and beach. The nice part about it being further down from town is, the neighborhood is blessedly quiet - makes for good night's sleep and delicious naps. In the 2yrs from our first stay to our second stay, it was apparent the owners continue to pour love and attention into the house. Wifi is terrible, had to use our phones hot spot, but I think that is more of a Seaside problem than a house issues. We'll stay here again next time!

Comfortable Stay with Family Group

  • 4 of 5

The house has a nice layout to be comfortable with our family group -- we were 5 adults, 3 teens and one smallish dog. We separated into the two dining areas at dinner and the kitchen was more than adequate for simple meals. The family room was mostly the teen hangout/game room and the living room was great for reading, chatting, puzzles, etc. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is close and lovely. Maybe a 10 minute walk to the main street and Bagels By the Sea for breakfast. The pictures accurately reflect the interior - it is well maintained, clean and we all agreed it was quite charming. The owner conveniently provided all needed information by email.

Cute place perfect for a beach getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect little place to go for a beach stay. Just two blocks from the beach, an easy walk or bike ride on the promenade to get to the touristy stuff. My kids appreciated the outdoor hot water to clean off the sand. Just wish we could have stayed longer!
