About the property

Newly Remodeled Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Just a two minute (75 yard) walk to beautiful Kailua Beach using our private beach access!

This lovely 'hawaiian-style' 800 square foot studio features vaulted ceilings, a large tiled bathroom and a kitchen, as well as beautiful wood flooring throughout. It has an ocean view with nice trade winds on the private upstairs slate lanai. On-site parking is available.

The studio is detached from the main house, separated by a large yard. It has a private entrance and no shared walls. Nicknamed 'The Treehouse' due to the many surrounding trees and island-style landscaping.

Walk to historical Kalapawai market, Bob's Pizza, and Island Snow Shave Ice. You will feel like you're in paradise, surrounded by tropical trees and plants of all types.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Maureen, just wanted to let you know that we LOVED staying at 'the Treehouse'. Everything was lovely inside and out, and the location was ideal. Oh, and the shower was great, because my husband if 6'4" and the shower head was nice and tall. (little things, but they do stand out). We have been recommending your place to all our friends!

Thanks again

Always a great place to stay in Kailua!

This is our 2nd visit to this property and it did not disappoint.

The location is excellent - a short walk to the beach. There is a lovely market nearby that serves great coffee and food along with selling grocery items and wine. The neighbourhood is safe and friendly.

The suite itself is a pleasure - bright and open, lots of cooling breezes coming through the windows on all 4 sides. The kitchen is equipped for making easy and quick meals. One of our favourite things about this rental is the 'lanai' off the living area. It's a great place for morning coffee, afternoon snacks and evening dinners.

Really, there's no downside to this place!

A plus for us this year was meeting the young college people who live in the house that shares this property. On all occasions they were very polite, friendly and respectful of others around them.

I would definitely recommend this suite to people who like the windward side of the island, a world class beach and a real 'aloha' experience!

We love this rental!

This was our fourth stay in the treehouse, and it was heavenly, as always. Clean and tidy, perfect size for two people, and in a great neighborhood. You really can't beat this location, no matter what your plans are for your stay on Oahu. Easy, scenic, drive to the Norh Shore, 30 minutes or less to Honolulu/Waikiki, great hiking nearby. And Kailua! We spent more time on this trip just hanging out on he beach - talking to he locals, playing with their dogs - so very relaxing!

Thanks, Maureen and Jeff, for another great stay.

Lovely spot. No AC and soft bed. But fine for me.

  • 4 of 5

We loved this place. Only issue for my sister

(A Seattlite) was no ac and bed located in warmest corner of space, so she slept on the couch. I actually like just aclimatizing to tropics, so fine for me. Location can't be beat for easy access to beach and play activities we like. Only draw back was a very loud party by neighbors on our last night. We could not close it out and turn on air conditioning bc didn't have it. After 7 nights of listening to the wind in the trees, I was flabbergasted by the obnoxious behavior. They were young and seemed like maybe rented it for that purpose. Don't know. Anyway, aside from that we loved it here.

Kitesurfing in kailua? Stay here!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a hidden treasure.

The location is nice and quiet while beaing able to see a glimpse of the sea through the trees.

From the veranda we could se if the wind was strong enough to go kitesurf. There's even a small private (shared) walkway to the sea so the walk is even shorter!

The kitchen is basic but good enough for two. Appliances aplenty for our needs. All in all a perfect spot for hiding on the other side of the world ;)

Go to Buzz's for dinner - it's only a ten minute walk from the appartment. Shopping is also nearby so all needs can be covered.

We would definetely stay here again!

Location, location, location

What a lovely place to stay, don't let the pictures fool you, it's not as small as it looks. Very clean and roomy, I was worried that it didn't have air conditioning but the cross breeze, fans and all the windows made it very comfortable. The location is wonderful just 2 houses away from the private beach access and the beach was beautiful and not at all crowded.Fully stocked with most everything you would need from the bathroom to the kitchen.

There were however a few things I would say could be updated or changed, the shower needs to have a non slip pad of some sort I almost broke my neck when I slipped the first night.

The second would be to change out the refrigerator, it works perfect but it has so much rust inside and out it was a turn off and probably the most important is to have a better wine opener and sharper knives. I wanted to have a glass of wine and enjoy the breeze on patio in the evening but I was not strong enough to open the bottle I bought with the wine opener that was provided; and then I thought no big deal I would cut up the pineapple I bought for a snack only to find out that there was not one knife sharp enough to cut it so I gave up and went to bed only to have the neighbors directly across the street have a bright spot light in their yard that shines right into the bed room until past midnight so a blind on that front window would be a big plus.

Really in the whole scheme of things those are small changes, I loved this place and had a wonderful celebration with my kids and grandkids that live in Kailua. I would love to return to this sweet studio again next year. Thank you for helping to make some wonderful memories.
