Dock and boat lift. Enjoy cool breezes as you relax on the large screened in lanai with a cold beverage overlooking the canal. You can fish from our dock and enjoy the occasional dolphin sighting, fish jumping and birds diving. This home has been recently remodeled and has an open floor plan with wonderful views of the canal from the kitchen, bedrooms, living and dining areas. Take a very short bike ride to Ponce De Leon Park to enjoy the beach and fantastic sunsets. We are a short drive, bike or boat ride to Fisherman's Village where you will find shopping and waterfront restaurants. You will also find at Fisherman's Village, tour boats, powerboats, kayaks, and sailboats for rent or you can bring your own boat. Large boat lift capacity, call owner for details.
We love the Punta Gorda area and its boating opportunities. We enjoy sailing and plan to retire here. We currently live in Lexington, Kentucky and have been sailing for the last 20 years. We own a boat on Cave Run Lake here in Kentucky and have chartered throughout the Caribbean many times. We love the boating community in PGI and have enjoyed getting to know the local waters. My wife Melissa loves dolphins and has enjoyed her many encounters in Charlotte Harbor. We love this area and are sure you will too!
Dal & Melissa Clark purchased this house in 2012
We love the small town atmosphere, friendly people, historic buildings and no traffic. The city has many parks and restaurants, is pet friendly and has a hometown, laid-back feeling.
My better half and I spent almost a week at this great rental on the canal in Punta Gorda and we were not disappointed. Tucked away in very quiet but nice neighborhood, the home is large and has a huge entertaining area in the middle of it where a large kitchen, living and dining room all join. While most of our time was spent on the extra large screened in porch overlooking the canal or fishing off the dock, this indoor area would be a great for a group of people staying at the house. The house is CLEAN and the bedrooms are big. We spent a lot of time tooling around Punta Gorda because we did have a car, but our favorite things were all within walking or biking distance from the house. The nearby park and subsequent small beach had an awesome animal conservatory where they take care of wounded local animals, the same park is where people gather to watch the sunsets but we preferred the view from the kayaks on the water which were easily launch-able from the back of the house. The owners also have bikes you can take to fishermans wharf where there is plenty of shopping and restaurants. We didnt have any problems but the owners were very responsive up to and after our trip when it came to the booking and deposit. If only there was a hot tub it may have been the best place ever :)
Need I say more? Punta Gorda is a great place to vacation for a week, for several months, even retire. My husband and I spent Jan-Mar 2015 and Jan-Mar 2016 in this lovely home. The home is perfect...it's on a quiet street with friendly neighbors, has a spectacular view, is very clean, well kept and has everything you could possibly need. Also have all kinds of toys...2 kayaks to put into the canal right off the back; bikes, etc. The owners are quick to respond to any and all requests...never had an issue. We like Punta Gorda so much that we had a home built here and this is where we will spend our winters (6 months/yr). We love the rental home so much that my brother-in-law and his wife will spend 3 months there in 2017. We couldn't have been happier anywhere else...this is a great place!!!
We’ve stayed at this home twice now and both times we greatly enjoyed it. One of the nicest features is that the back of the house opens up to the canal. Lots of fresh air and an awesome view! Easy bike ride to the farmers market, fishermans village, and ponce de leon park- where you can catch a great view of the sunset over the gulf! Also includes 2 kayaks to enjoy a day out on the canal. We both commented that we could live there year round and compare everywhere we stay to this place!
Renters expect to enjoy their stay instead of spending hours attempting to fix things. We were promised a phone, recording VCR and an insect-free environment. Instead we spent hours trying to rectify problems with all those things. The owners are not local and don't seem to be that familiar with their property. They really need a caretaker/property manager as many things are in need of repair and should be taken care of before they issue rental contracts. They did try and assist us over the phone, but we sensed that they didn't really take any problems that seriously. As experienced renters, we went beyond what we normally have to do to put the house in order. At this point the house still needs some major de-cluttering from the owners so renters have areas to store their belongings. On a positive note, the home does have a nice view of the canal and is close to the city park.
We are spending the month of April in Punta Gorda and enjoying this very nice home in a quiet neighborhood. Great area for walking and biking. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed to serve an Easter dinner for visiting family. The beds are very comfortable. It is 5-10 minutes away from everything. Very good restaurants downtown. We especially enjoyed The Turtle Club. Port Charlotte has everything you need...theaters, malls. Best beaches are in Ft Myers, Naples but worth a day trip. Enjoyed our morning coffee on lanai watching dolphins (some mornings and early evenings) and boaters. Charter fishing boats available at Fisherman's Village and the Village Fish Market & restr will cook your catch. Public Golf courses available. We did miss an outside grill for cooking. Weather has been warmer than usual for April.
This home is very open and great for entertaining. The view of the intersecting canals is incredible. The owners make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your vacation (bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, beach toys, etc). You are close to everything, restaurants, shopping, bike/walk paths, park beach. Small community w/o all the traffic of the bigger cities...we LOVE it! One hour from Napes and 30-45 minutes to Ft. Myers if interested in more shopping, etc. The beach park is only a few minutes from this home so we went to the park many times to watch the sunset along with all the other folks...it's fun to watch everyone.
The owners of the home are great people and always available and "quick" to respond to your needs.
