About Henry and Robin Reed

Hi, Henry and I (Robin) have lived in Colorado for 25 years and love the Rocky Mountains. It has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. We have explored many of the attractions here and there are things for all ages to enjoy!

When we moved to Colorado, we could hardly wait until our children were old enough to explore with us. When their grandparents retired here, they began teaching them how to fish for trout at the Rampart Range Reservoir. Being able to catch their limit has never been an issue!

We hope that you take the time to come to Colorado to relax, have fun and make some great memories!

Henry and Robin Reed purchased this house in 2013

Why Henry and Robin Reed chose Divide

We spent a lot of time looking for a special place to get away and relax. When we found this property, we fell in love with the lakes, views and wildlife. Each time we have stayed here we have had deer come into the backyard early morning and evening.

Having a place large enough for our immediate and extended family was important in case we wanted to get away to celebrate a special occasion. This mountain home's layout lends itself to privacy for more than one family.

Be ready for a photo opportunity when driving to the house because elk herds frequent the area!

Pack a picnic lunch and sit by the lake! There are several covered picnic benches and a bathroom by the lake as well. Drop a fishing line in the lake and catch a trout (we provide the poles and tackle)!

What makes this house unique

This is the only cabin in the area where we pre-purchase fishing passes for our guests, provide two different types of boats to enjoy (at no extra charge) and provide poles, bait and tackle. NO Colorado fishing license is required and the lakes are stocked twice a Summer with a variety of trout. Come try and catch a Golden HAS been done!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

No complaints this is a great place loved the boats. Also the kids loved the dollar game, first time we played and it was a nice distraction for the kids, after a long day grown ups were tired and kids spent at least 2 hours looking for the dollars. Then helping them figure out clues to hide them on the last day was fun for everyone.

Great cabin; great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time and we were thrilled with our cabin! It had everything you would ever need and more! We could tell that the owners put a lot of attention and time into making sure your stay was perfect. We will definitely be coming back! My son hand fed the deer that came up to our cabin!

Great cabin in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this wonderful cabin that had plenty of room and everything we needed! The night we arrived, there were 6" of snow and we were somewhat concerned about finding the cabin and the owners helped us so much to find the cabin and get there safely. It was quite beautiful the next morning with the snow everywhere. The roads were clear the next day! We visited Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, 7 Falls, and plenty of shopping in Manitou Springs! A great vacation. The local grocery store (Venture) in Divide was awesome! They were so friendly and loved for vacationers to come in and visit! The last night were were there, we saw a herd of elk on "5" on the way to the cabin! I recommend this cabin to all vacationers that want a place to get away in the mountains! Plenty of games, movies, and a scavenger hunt! So much fun!

The whole package! Wonderful Forest Retreat!!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my family absolutely loved this cabin! If you have come across this place and are looking at reviews, look no further! It was perfect! Plenty of activities in the area, we spent the week and took the cog rail up Pikes Peak, walked Garden of the Gods (both about 30 min away), Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (which is the best zoo I have been to with amazing views, highly recommended and about 40 min away), The Royal Gorge Bridge (about 1 1/2 hr away and AMAZING), fun shopping in Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City ( 25 min away). They had a fun dollar game in the cabin that my kids enjoyed and a closet stocked with games for fun for the whole family! We spent our evenings relaxing in the nice 6 person hot tub and grilling a few dinners on the upper deck. The kitchen was fully stocked. A few times when we would return back to the cabin, the deer (a mother and 2 babies) would hear us and come walking right up to us on 3 different occasions and ate right out of our hands!! The queen beds in both bedrooms were very comfortable and the kids bedroom was perfect! It was nice to that there were fans for the bedrooms, since we all like sleeping with a fan on at night. Robin and Henry are so easy to talk to if anything is needed or for any questions. We will definitely choose this location again when we plan our next trip to Colorado, loved every bit of this place! Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely cabin!

Beautiful, relaxing, with everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

This place was a wonderful cozy cabin. I was continually surprised and happy with our stay. It felt very personal and homey to us. A beautiful spot close to a lake and with a beautiful view of Pikes Peak on the way in. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to visit close by. We were able to spend time in Colorado Springs and see all the really cool sites near by. We went to Cave of the Winds (15-20 min), Cliff Dwellings (15-20 min), Garden of the Gods (20-30 min), and an awesome hot springs near Buena Vista (1.25 hrs). Thanks so much for letting us stay here! I would come back in a heart beat!!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking. The front porch swing was perfect for morning coffee and an evening glass of wine! We got snowed in and between their movie selection, games, fireplace and the hot tub everyone was happy!
