New log style home right on Lake Five frontage. 3 Miles from Glacier Park's west entrance. 4 bedrooms. Sleeps 11 in beds. Big Kitchen. 2.5 baths. Cozy Gas Fireplace. Home constructed in 2010, A Fort/playhouse/slide/swings set up in the yard for the youngsters. Main level has a large covered deck with a gas grill. Daylight walk out basement to a patio and then on to the lake. A lovely family home situated on the shores of Lake Five offers a wide range of vacation options. You can stay home and play in the lake or lounge on the deck. Or you can access all the hiking and sightseeing that Glacier Park has to offer only 3 miles away. There are several whitewater rafting guides within a couple miles. There is the town of Whitefish with it's famous ski resort only 20 miles away.

About Carole Phillips

I've recently taken a job that leaves my home available for vacation rental. I'll come back and retire one day but for now, my loss is your gain. The picture is of me and my kids at the eldest's wedding on the shore of the lake.

Why Carole Phillips chose West Glacier

This property has been in the family since 1948 with this house being constructed in 2010. Originally purchased by my Parents and Grandparents after World War II ended and my parents moved 'West of the Mountains', this spot has been a summer retreat for 5 generations now. In 2007 I decided to make this my full-time home and built the new house in 2010.

Incredibly Breathtaking

This vacation rental far exceeded our expectations for a family relaxation spot for my husband and me, our two grown sons and spouses, and four grandkids! We booked four nights in June and next time, we will definitely stay longer. For those of us who seek seclusion and privacy for our getaways, rather than tourist spots with their hordes of people, this rental filled our hearts’ desire! The house is impressively beautiful and certainly well-maintained, not one speck of dirt or dust (before we got there, anyway!) We appreciated the sparkling bathrooms, and everything we needed from kitchen spices to ample towels and washcloths were right where we needed them. The campfire spot was perfect; and the water was extremely accessible for grandkids and grammas alike! Floatie toys and paddleboards were the choice of water play and next time we’ll round up some kayaks. Only two or three times was our solitude interrupted by the sounds of motorboats, and we were far enough off the highway that there was very little traffic noise. There are four or five stairs to get from ground floor to the deck (which, by the way, is superbly spacious and the railing is toddler-proof, to say nothing of the spectacular lake view the deck affords); the main floor has two bedrooms and therefore handicap-accessible. In fact, my husband used his electric scooter to get from house to lakeside and around the yard. Because the road through Glacier Park had not yet been opened (still snowy in June!), we were able to park our pickup at the base of the highway and my husband with his scooter, and I with my bike traveled up the Going-to-the-Sun Highway for a couple of hours—breathtaking; and with no cars to worry about, we enjoyed the camaraderie of other bikers and hikers. Unique experience; in fact we may in the future plan to be there before the road is opened!

Carole is extraordinarily accommodating and made it easy for us to plan our stay; the housekeeper is highly commendable and the yard maintenance made us feel right at home. We loved our time spent at Carole’s home and we WILL be back!

Beyond expectations

This house was just perfect for us. We had everything you could need to accommodate the adults and the kids. Our week was very smoky due to the Sprague fire and the windshift, so we spent more time at the house than we would normally. With a 1 and 3 year old to entertain, it was NO PROBLEM. This house has a great playset, large sandbox, water toys and lifevests. It has a pack ' play, highchair, and gate. I won't go on, but the amenities were plentiful. Everything was well stocked, the best of any other rental we've had. I would highly recommend this house to anyone, esp with kids.

Wonderful Family Vacation

This house on Lake Five became our home for the week we explored Glacier National Park and met our needs and wants very well. We appreciated the multilevel space. We spent much time on the deck in the evenings. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, silverware and cooking pans. Perhaps a mid-season reorganization of pans and dishes would be helpful.

I appreciated the good supply and quality of towels and beach towels. My daughter-in-law liked having the washer and dryer handy. We enjoyed the young children toys and games.

Just liked our accommodations all around and appreciated being able to reach Carole during power outage.

Your suggestion on the kitchen reorganization mid-season is a good one. I always wonder why people put things back the places that they do but I've decided that the people who take out the kitchenwares are helped by another person when it comes time to put clean things away. That would explain this disorganization and makes me feel good about the collaborative efforts on vacation! Please come back again some time, I'd love to have you.

Fantastic Property, Fantastic week, FIVE STARS

We had a great stay at the Lake 5 property.

Super close to Glacier, 2 miles, lots of interesting things to do.

We drove Going to the Sun Highway, hiked the Highline Trail, Hidden Lake Trail and the Avalanche Trail, rafted the Middle Fork, took a cruise on Lake McDonald, Zip lined on Big Mountain............and attended our daughters wedding at West Glacier.

But the best days were enjoying the peace and quiet of the lake from the deck and the beach. The deck sits right over the lake and the beach is just a few steps from the home. The house was very relaxing and comfortable. The weather was great. Up to 90 during the day and cool at night. And every day was sunny and bright. The house was well appointed with all the necessities and a lot more.

Carole is an attentive, pleasant and helpful owner.

Marcy was great and made sure we had everything we needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.
