About Carole Phillips

I've recently taken a job that leaves my home available for vacation rental. I'll come back and retire one day but for now, my loss is your gain. The picture is of me and my kids at the eldest's wedding on the shore of the lake.

Why Carole Phillips chose Glacier Country

This property has been in the family since 1948 with this house being constructed in 2010. Originally purchased by my Parents and Grandparents after World War II ended and my parents moved 'West of the Mountains', this spot has been a summer retreat for 5 generations now. In 2007 I decided to make this my full-time home and built the new house in 2010.

Beautiful lakefront home with very close proximity to Glacier Natl. Park

Posting on behalf of my non-tech savvy parents:

What a Montana adventure! My wife and I flew to Glacier Intl. Airport from Kansas for a week of exploring in Glacier National Park with our youngest daughter who now lives in MT. We couldn't have been happier with this VRBO rental - beautiful lakefront property easily accessible via a paved country road from the main highway, but still felt secluded and private, plus there was zero light pollution which made for fantastic star gazing each night. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the large deck overlooking the quiet lake each morning. The spacious kitchen gave us the opportunity to make our own meals (save $$$), but we still chose to head down the road to indulge at the historic Belton Chalet restaurant for dinner. Being just a few miles from Glacier's west entrance meant we were able to sleep in and still spend a full day in the park. We enjoyed several easy hikes (Trail of the Cedars and Hidden Lake Overlook), the full day Red Bus tour over Logan Pass to the east side, a guided evening boat ride on Lake MacDonald, and took advantage of the free bus rides up to Logan Pass - being from the flatlands of Kansas we intentionally avoided driving up/down the mountain. Also, the VRBO's close proximity to the park meant we let our daughter talk us into getting up very early one morning for a pre-dawn drive around the park's southern border to the east entrance where we joined the ranger guided hike up to Grinnell Glacier. It was perhaps a once in a lifetime activity for this 69-year-old Kansan to make such a hike (rain, sleet, snow, bears, moose, and big horned sheep), while my 68-year-old wife chose to stay behind in the Many Glacier Lodge to play card games with another hiker's wife. We finished our hike in late afternoon and still made it back to the lake house with plenty of time to relax on the deck with a cocktail. I can't thank Carole enough for letting us rent her beautiful lake home - she was kind and gracious throughout the entire process. Her home was our home for an incredible week of enjoying the Montana life. — Bob & Judi

Great Location, Privacy, Wildlife, Views - the list goes on!!

  • 5 of 5

A few of my girlfriends and I booked a long weekend at this Lake Five cabin and couldn't have been more in love with this property. The entrance to Glacier is just a few miles down the street and we spent a few days driving in and doing some day hikes (and we beat most of the crowds that had to drive in from Whitefish/Colombia Falls). At night, we'd come back and unwind on the massive porch overlooking the lake. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook delicious meals at home, but if you are interested in hitting the town I'd recommend the Belton Chalet (maybe 5 miles down the street) for dinner and drinks. This place is great for a romantic weekend away, a family vacation, or a place to get together and unwind with friends. I hesitate to even write a review because I want to keep it all to myself!!! A beautiful gym in the heart of the most awe inspiring landscape in Montana.

Great home close to Glacier

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful home. This home is fairly new, spacious, nice four bedrooms plus lots of additional sleeping space. Plenty of room for the entire family. The home is fully stocked with nice white linens and plenty of kitchen items. Loved, loved the deck over looking the lake. A great place to relax or eat meals. Have to say the deck was our favorite place and spent a lot of time with family enjoying the out doors. There is a lot of activity on this lake but this location allowed us plenty of opportunity to paddle board and kayak. This is the perfect location for going to Glacier National Park, white water rafting, hiking, all the fun things associated with a Glacier Park Vacation. Definitely would recommend this property for a relaxing enjoyable mountain lake get away.

Perfect location, stocked with everything

  • 5 of 5

We chose this house because it was so close to the west entrance of Glacier National Park and it could accommodate our group of nine. Our first few days were cool and rainy, but the house was big enough for us to remain indoors comfortably. We prepared every meal during our stay, so we were thrilled to find the kitchen so well stocked with the little extras you hate to buy for just four days -- oil, spices, etc. The bathrooms and laundry were also stocked with everything you might need. We had a wonderful time!

The best VRBO rental we have ever vacationed at.

  • 5 of 5

This house had it all. Forgot toilet paper, it has it. Need shampoo/conditioner, it has it. Want to wash your clothes and forget detergent, it has it. Literally the most well stocked home we ever rented and you can't beat the location on the lake. Literally you are steps away from a warm and inviting lake with little to no boat traffic. Even with 90 degree hetr the downstairs was cool always. God I just can't say enough about how wonderful this home truly is. If you're planning a trip to Glacier National Park this is the place to stay.
