About Lori Solomon
I was born and raised in Oakland, CA, and moved to Sebastopol in 2013. I had been visiting friends in the area for 20 years, and always enjoyed my time in the north bay. Sebastopol also has family ties for me, my Great Grandfather moved his family here from Colorado in the early 1900's and worked for Luther Burbank on his farm. 100+ years later, here I am enjoying Sebastopol. Although the town has changed a lot, I'm sure the reasons for living here haven't changed much, it's a wonderful community.

Wonderful, clean, welcoming home. The owner was warm and easy to talk to. Charming and loved our time there.
Convent to downtown, clean and bigger than I expected. Lori was a wonderful host.
We had a fantastic time in this great and very nice house. The owner was amazing and even supported us during our ironman race in Santa Rosa. The location was perfect and the house was more than any of us expected. I would highly recommend this house and this fun, quirky city.
Wonderful location and very comfortable. Kitchen beautifully stocked. Enjoyed great outdoor space. . Hosts helpful and welcoming
A Hidden Gem
We were in the area for a family wedding. The home was perfect for our needs, with plenty of space to spread out. The backyard was so private and peaceful (hated to leave). Location was great and an easy walk into town. Lori was super sweet and very helpful.
Thank you for the compliments. It was a pleasure hosting you and I hope you'll visit again!
A great house, host, and location. One of the few places where the pictures don't do justice to the comfort and charm on offer.
Sebastopol is a unique and dynamic town that’s equal parts quaint and whimsical. There are many things to see and do while visiting Sebastopol, here are a few of our favorites.
On any given day, you can walk to town and see some of the area’s best food producers, wine makers, brewers, distillers and artists at The Barlow. If you're visiting over the weekend, you can look for treasures at the Flea Market on Gravenstein Hwy. and the Farmers Market on Sunday is always full of tasty treats made by local artisans.
Ragle Regional Park offers great spots to picnic, bike ride, and bird-watch. There are are equestrian trails, playgrounds and a peace garden as well. At the Luther Burbank Experimental Farm you can learn about Burbank's career and the 800 varieties of fruits, flowers, vegetables, and grains he developed; plums and prunes, the Shasta Daisy, and novelties such as Plumcots, Thornless Blackberries, and Spineless Cactus.
The Joe Rodota Trail is another option for an outdoor activity. The paved trail is 8.47 miles and runs along Highway 12 between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. The trail offers an opportunity for families with young children to experience an outdoor outing for walking, bicycle riding, horseback riding, and roller skating.
The Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail, is also makes for a great activity. Visitors can discover the biologically diverse landscape of Sonoma County’s largest freshwater wetland. This 1.8-mile multi-use trail is open to hikers and equestrians and includes an overlook with benches and Laguna and vineyard views. The trail runs on the east side of the Laguna channel between Highway 12 and Occidental Road, with parking areas along both roads.
The Ives Park & Pool is conveniently located 2 blocks from the house, where you can find a playground and community pool. The pool offers swim lessons, lap swim, family swim and aqua fitness classes. During the summer you can catch free concerts on the Peacetown Stage every Wednesday evening.
Hop in the car and you can be at one of Sonoma County’s top wineries or the beach within 30 minutes. A drive to Bodega Bay makes for a great day trip and don't forget to stop in the town of Bodega where Alfred Hitchcock filmed the classic movie, 'The Birds'.
Valley Ford, Occidental and Guerneville are also nearby and Tomales Bay is a must visit if you like oysters. If you prefer grapes to seafood, then you're in the right spot as there are a number of wineries within 15 minutes of the Sebastopol Guest House including Furthermore, Russian River Vineyards, Lynmar Estates, Merry Edwards Winery, and Dutton Goldfield Winery. If you prefer cider to wine, Horse & Plow has you covered and Woodfour and Hopmonk always have a nice selection of beers.
Consider finishing the day by enjoying a massage at a nearby spa, dining at one of our many excellent restaurants or catching a movie at the Rialto Cinema.
Be sure to check out the Sonoma County Calendar of Events for special activities occurring during your stay.
