We love Point Sebago! After visiting for years, we finally decided to buy our own home so we can enjoy Point Sebago whenever we want. We hope the description below answers your questions, but please email us with any inquiries.
Our clean, well-appointed, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cottage is located within Pt. Sebago Resort. The master bedroom adjoins the full bathroom and has a queen size bed and flat screen tv. The second bedroom has twin bunk beds, adjoins the half bath, and has a television. The third bedroom has a full size futon with a flat screen tv. The living area includes a large sectional sofa and chair as well as an electric fireplace and flatscreen tv with dvd player. The dining area includes a table seating six and the breakfast bar seats two.
In the kitchen, you will find everything you need to cook meals at the cottage...a toaster, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, keurig, glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, mixing bowls, flatware, pots, pans, bakeware, serving/cooking utensils, potholders, kitchen towels, cutting boards, and knives.
Linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, bath towels) are also included in your rental.
Outside you will find a gas grill on the large back deck as well as a screened in patio set which seats 6. On the front deck, there are two comfortable chairs to relax in, and the front yard, there's a large firepit.
Now that you have a flavor for house, what's it actually like to vacation here:
Spend your morning on the large, sunny deck with a cup of coffee (brewed with the Keurig). Take a quick bike ride downtown for a morning paper, spend time on the beach watching the kayakers paddle by, while the kids enjoy organized activities. Spend the afternoon cooking hamburgers on the grill out on the deck. In the evening, head back downtown with the family to watch a play.
The next day, you could rent a boat at the marina within Pt. Sebago and spend the morning fishing or tubing. Grab lunch at Lakeside restaurant or an icecream at the downtown snack shack. Spend some time playing arcade games and wind down the evening with smores in our front yard firepit.
These are just two examples of all you could fill your days. What else could you do?...
Rent a golf cart for the week to make your way around the resort, enjoy happy hour at the onsite bar, spend a day golfing, take the kids to a movie at the Bridgton drive-in, head over to Seacost Adventure Park for numerous activities, rent kayaks or canoes, enjoy an adult dinner while the kids enjoy evening activities, games, and movies. There are daily activities for all ages - flag football, kayak races, teen survival factor, teen get togethers/socials, Chippy's welcome show, family sing alongs, character shows, adult dances (with DJs or bands), karaoke, pirate cruise on sebago, and the list goes on and on.
If you choose to leave the resort (not that you have to), Freeport, North Conway, and Portland are all within an hour's drive. Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor) or Boston also make great day trips.
Stay at our beautiful home and enjoy all the region has to offer. We know you'll love it as much as we do.
Our family lives north of Boston. For us, Point Sebago is a short 2 hour and 15 minute ride. With fulltime jobs, young children, and many responsibilities at home, this is our escape. We can hop in the car, come to Point Sebago, and get away from it all.
Anne-Marie Phelan purchased this cottage in 2013
We got to know Point Sebago by staying with family who have a home in the resort. Time after time, we asked ourselves, why don't we have our own place up here? When this cottage became available, it just felt right.
For us, our lake house is the place where we kick back. What do we do when we're here? We often head down to the Umbrella Factory and pick up our groceries for the week or weekend. Then we head back to the cottage to unwind by playing a game or roasting marshmallows in the firepit.
We love lazy mornings at Point Sebago...we have a cup of coffee then head down to the general store to get a piece of fresh blueberry crumbcake. We spend our days out on the lake, boating or kayaking. In the afternoon, we search the property for deer on our bikes or hit the lounge for happy hour drinks. We grill out on the deck for dinner or head down to the road to the Black Bear Cafe when we don't feel like cooking.
We usually don't plan anything at all. For us, this is the beauty of being away from home. We can sit on the front porch or the deck and read or go the arcade and play a few games. There's something for everyone.
If responsibilities beckon, we can always connect via wifi in the common areas - the downtown square area has the best connection.
Even a weekend at Point Sebago recharges our batteries. We loved it enough to buy our cottage. We hope you'll take the opportunity to enjoy it as well.
This house beckoned to us for so many reasons, but one of those is the space. There are few properties with 3 bedrooms. This allows each member of our family to have the privacy we need and also lets us invite friends up without feeling too cramped.
This house also has some upgrades which made it particularly desirable - laminate floors in the common areas, a larger countertop space, dishwasher. We're in a great location giving us easy access to the downtown and beach areas. We can enjoy the amenities but escape to our quiet home. We also love having our firepit in the front yard because it allows us to interact with our neighbors and people passing by instead of being relegated to the backyard. The sunsplashed back deck is another huge plus and a great spot to sit and relax.
Our family of six had a fantastic vacation and this was our 2nd time at PS! The home was just as expected, super clean. The three bedrooms allowed our family to have just enough space and the two bathrooms were perfect. Anne Marie was very easy to work with and she left the kids all the makings for Smores by the enormous fire pit! Each room had cable, which was nice for the group as we wound down for the day. There is plenty of room to unpack here, plenty of drawers and storage available. The home has everything you need in the kitchen, a nice grill out back and a wonderful screen-house on the back porch which was a bonus. Point Sebago is tons of fun, we took in the show Footloose and the lobster/chicken BBQ which were both great. We also rented kayaks, paddle boards and a pontoon boat and actually took the family through the locks over to Naples. What a blast! It did help that the weather was just perfect for our vacation. The one overcast day we took the kids to Freeport for back to school shopping and a fantastic lunch at the Brick Oven Bistro, which is highly recommended. Each day at the Tiki Lounge was happy hour, with 2 for 1 drinks which was a big hit with us. The lunch at the Tiki was also much better than expected. If you like keeping busy with everything you need for adults, teens and kids, PS is the place! We will be returning for sure! One suggestion: the home is in the best location in PS, a nice quiet area near the golf course which means it's a bit of a walk to the beach and hustle bustle etc. Book your golf cart super early when you book your unit, as they run out quickly. PS requires gate keys, which we were provided with one. Having two gate keys would be super handy! Overall, a wonderful trip and a super home!
My family and I love Point Sebago. This was our first time staying at this cottage and it made our experience even better than the past years. This cottage is home like, the owners go out of their way to make you feel at home and truly want you to enjoy your vacation. No need to pack towels or beach chairs as they are there for your use. How about a nice cup of coffee In their Keurig in the morning, so nice. You will never have a fire on the resort like at their place, fire pit is huge!
I could go on and on about this cottage and the generosity of the owners, if you rent their place you will know what I mean.
Our children, had the best vacation ever, and that's in their own words.
This was our 8th year at Point Sebago and the BEST accommodations we have had! Loved the cottage! It was perfect for our family - 2 adults and 3 kids - there was plenty of room and we didn't feel we were on top of each other. From the moment we arrived, I was surprised and pleased. The cottage is immaculate, it was great to have the linens and towels provided and I loved the extra touches - the s'more fixings, the cards/games, menus for local restaurants, the screen tent on the back deck, the fire pit. We love Point Sebago and our "routine" up there - long walks, breakfast on the porch, days spent at the beach, kayaking on the lake, games nights and fires to end the day. Perfect vacation! Anne-Marie was great to work with!
This Cottage is perfect! there were 6 (4 adults & 2 kids) of us staying in the cottage and there was plenty of room. This kids loved the bunk beds and there was plenty of storage. I enjoyed sitting out on the front porch after a day at the beach. The fire Pit is awesome. I can't say enough about this great cottage. The owners put a lot of pride in their home and it shows. Ann-Marie is a sweetheart.
The perfect vacation and vacation home!!! You know its perfect when your daughter says "Mom, I wish we were staying longer." Having vacationed for over 10 years at Point Sebago when our daughter was younger we couldn't wait to introduce our son in law and 2 small grand children to Chippy. This owners of this great rental thought of everything including a baby gate and smores:))) We will absolutely be renting this home again and again.
A beautifully kept home on a quiet street. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. An easy three minute drive to the beach area with all of the activities. We would definitely stay again. Owner added nice touches to make us feel welcome.
Our cottage is located by the 9th hole of the Pt. Sebago golf course and just a few minutes from the beach and downtown area. Within Point Sebago, there are many activities for families, including children's programs, daily entertainment, arcade games, miniature golf, golf, tennis, horseshoes, playgrounds, swimming, boat rentals, kayaking, etc.
Nearby, numerous options additional activities are available...take a sea plane ride from the pier on Long Lake, rent a jetski, take in a movie at the Bridgton drive in, visit Seacoast Adventure Park (15 minutes down the road) for miniature golf, go karts, sky swing, disc golf, hillside tubing, aerial adventure park, etc.
Or take advantage of a rainy day to visit the outlets in N. Conway, NH (less than 1 hour away) or the flagship LL Bean store in Freeport (also less than 1 hour away).
There is so much to do in this area that your biggest issue will be how to fit it all in!
