Hear the waves in this Aptos vacation home across the street from the neighborhood beach entrance to the Seacliff and Pot Belly beaches. Walk down a very pictures Beachgate path or, if you have too many beach things, drive 0.2mi and use provided California State Park pass for the free access and parking.

2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths - sleeps 6, with California king bed, queen bed and a pull out queen sofa bed in the living-room. New kitchen with granite counters, remodeled bathrooms and an outdoor warm shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped and the house includes washer and dryer, an outdoor hot water shower, cable TV, WiFi, DVD player, stereo with CD player, and lots of games.

Just bring your bathing suit. Everything else is provided: linens, beach towels, chairs, umbrella and toys.

Also included are

- CA state park vehicle pass to visit over 20 local state parks.

- 2 member guest passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Save time by skipping a long line and using the member entrance!

Seacliff beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. It is wide, 19+ mile long, and in low tide you can walk 1.5 mi to Capitola. Spend quiet weekdays swimming, boogie boarding and surfing with just the dolphins, whales, seals and shorebirds to keep you company.

This is a great location for visiting Monterrey, Carmel, Capitola, Santa Cruz, 17 Mile Drive or just relaxing on the beach.

My wife and I met in Cambridge, MA almost 30 years ago. We moved from the east coast Bay Area to the west coast two years later.

Casa Mare is our second home. We spend weekends (sometimes long ones since we love it here so much more than the hectic Silicon Valley) in the upstairs apartment. Our kids are grown so it’s just the two of us. We are available to answer any questions and to share our favorite places to visit and eat at.

Both being scientist, we used a scientific approach, the Radar app, in selecting the warmest, least foggy beach community. We’re surprised to discover that often there is a 15 to 20 degrees difference with in less than 10 miles.

We chose our home because of proximity to the beach and it’s unique architecture.

The house architecture provides total privacy; with guest having an exclusive use of the back yard, outdoor shower and BBQ.

We love to travel and to stay in vacation rentals, especially when traveling with our family or friends. For the past 25+ years we have rented over 100 places all over US and Europe and have used this experience in setting up our home. We furnished it with all the things that we’ve enjoyed and appreciated: tourist information, guide books, lots of books and games for adults and kids, cooks kitchen, extra towels and linens, and of cause everything one would need for the beach, even kites. Many guests comment on our location and how well-equipped our home is.

We really enjoyed our stay in Aptos; the area is so beautiful and especially because of this place - so charming and so nicely located. It screams home and comfort. The owners have thought of every last detail. It has everything we needed to have a great time: lots of books to read on the beach, a whole shelf of guidebooks to help us plan day trips, games to keep adults and kids occupied, everything we needed for the beach (coolers, chairs, umbrellas, mats, and even kites), and every type of pot and pan and kitchen gadget you could possibly need. We spent a lot of time on the beach, visiting Monterey, Carmel, Santa Cruz, wine tasting and hiking in a number of parks (it was really helpful to have the access pass that came with the house). Our favorite excursions were to the redwoods and the aquarium. However, the real pleasure was to come home to our charming back yard and sunsets walks on the most amazing beach. We ate in and ate out (the owners were very helpful with recommendations). And after all this effort we slept like babes. All in all memorable week and and we have already booked a return trip!!!

A great stay!

A fantastic location and nice lower unit. I love the proximity to Marianne's Ice Cream. I think we ended up there four times during our trip. The beds were very comfortable, and the feather pillows gave me such a good night's rest that I was inspired to buy some of my own, though I don't know if they'll compare.

Just a couple of things to note. I would have loved better wifi. It was very difficult to stay connected. We also noticed a bit of an ant problem but nothing too bad. I mostly have good things to say.

Everything was well stocked, making for a comfortable, convenient stay, and those aquarium passes were much appreciated. The outdoor space around the house was so nice, set up with chairs and a barbecue. I would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Dear Stacy, Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed review. I’m sorry that you had difficulties with the wifi. It’s the first we hear about it from our guests. As a scientist we rely on wifi for practically everything. We have the fastest available internet in the area, Comcast Blast!Pro 200Mbps. Our grown kids had LAN parties with 6-10 friends while I worked, all worked seamlessly. Possibly, because of all the rain Comcast had issues. I’d have appreciated if you let us know and we could have handled it remotely. The ants are also new, because of the storms. We don’t use pesticides, only all natural ingredients. Since it’s a new problem, we’ll plant lavender, which supposed to take care of them permanently. We are very happy that you had a nice vacation and hope to see you the next time you’re visiting your family. Best, Marina and Sasha

Wonderful and relaxing home!

The design of this house is amazing!!! Every day of our stay we found something new in this house. Its location is so perfect that you can easily walk to the beach in less than five minutes! There is also a shopping market within 5 minutes of drive. I have never stayed in such an amazing home! 12 out of 10 recommended to all!

Excellent stay in Aptos!!!!

My Mom and I stayed here and we were very very happy with this clean, well stocked rental. I am a research freak when it comes to vacations and once I seen this rental I knew this was the one for us. The owners were very responsive and provided excellent information of the area and check in was a breeze with the detailed info provided. We got in close to midnight and everything was perfect!

The owners have thought of every detail possible. Complimentary bottle of organic mango lemonade (yummy), bottle of wine, two passes to the Monterey Aquarium and a State Park parking pass too!

Being clean freaks, we were especially impressed with the cleanliness of the home. This place is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! Being from Hawaii, we remove our shoes at the door, most times with hardwood floors, your feet pick up "random stuff" off the floor which drives me nuts. I can seriously tell you . . . there is NOT ONE ounce of "random stuff" to be found here, even in the garage where the washer/dryer is located!! Bedding was nice and fresh, pillows new and clean, mattresses very comfortable and cozy. Lots of extra blankets if needed. There are night lights throughout which I thought was very nice to have, especially moving around an unfamiliar home in the dark. No clutter at all, just a really nice place to call home on your vacation. Nice quiet neighborhood with your own driveway parking spot all to yourself. We didn't use the kitchen (except coffee maker) as we ate out every day, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need if you need to make a meal or two.

The owners are great hosts.

This is a recently remolded apartment in a friendly neighborhood walking distance from the beach and some food places. There is a grocery store a short drive away and there is a card in the apartment so you can get the store discounts. There is a nicely landscaped patio with a table and grill. The owners have gone out of their way to make the stay a pleasant one-park passes, aquarium passes, books, games, beach toys, beach towels, etc. If there are multiple cooks, they will find the kitchen small but well equipped. Be sure you are aware that the one full bathroom has a shower only. We have lots of friends and family in the area -they were all impressed with this apartment when they came to visit. We are glad we stayed at this rental look forward to staying there again.

Great house by the beach

We enjoyed our stay at this house very much. It was comfortable and the owners were friendly. The rental is on the bottom floor and they live upstairs. The house came with two member passes for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and an entrance/parking pass for California State Parks, both of which were useful to us. The owners also left us a tasty bottle of wine. The lighting in the house is very nice.

The house is close to the beach, and the it comes with lots of beach equipment such as towels, chairs and boogie boards. It is practically across the street from the beach, although it is on a hill and the path down is significant (especially if you have the useful beach items). It is possible to drive down and then park with the provided parking pass.

Aptos is a fun town. We went to Marianne's every day for ice cream. I would definitely stay here again.

The Forest at Nisene Marks is a mile away. Great hiking and biking in a beautiful redwood forest.

Over 100 outlet stores are in Santa Cruz, Gilroy, and Monterey.
