Bright, light-filled house on a quiet cul-de-sac is just 0.5 miles (~10 minute walk) through a nice residential beach community to Seacliff State Beach.

- Convenient, five-minute drive to Safeway (with Redbox kiosk), coffee shops and Aptos Farmers Market

- Like all beaches in northern California we do get visits from seals, dolphins, whales and the occasional shark. We like to call it nature ... please plan accordingly.

- Check-in is 4:00pm, and check out is noon. We can accommodate early check in or late check out depending on availability. Please confirm with owner before making plans.

About Colm Kennedy

Our family has been coming to the beaches around Santa Cruz for 25 years and has always dreamed of owning a slice of the beach life. We fell in love with this classic beach house with its light-filled rooms and open floor plan. The neighborhood and the neighbors are fantastic, and it's just a short walk to one of the best beaches on the north coast. We love spending our weekends relaxing by the ocean with friends and family and are excited to open our home to guests who share our passion for beach life.

- As with most houses in this area, there is no air conditioning as it usually stays pretty cool by the beach. The living room and one of the bedrooms have ceiling fans; second bedroom has a skylight. Kitchen Includes: - Plates, bowls, cutlery, water glasses, wine glasses, coffee cups, for 8 - Full set of sharp knives including steak knives - Gas Wolf stove with large oven - Full-sized refrigerator with freezer (and ice-cube trays) - Super quiet Bosch dishwasher - Microwave, toaster oven, rice cooker - Drip coffee maker and coffee grinder - BlendTec Blender (for smoothies, mixed drinks, etc.) - Cocktail shaker and jigger - Cooking utensils, garlic press, cheese grater, wine opener, measuring cups, can opener, cutting boards, mixing bowls, baking trays, etc. - BBQ grill on the back patio with BBQ tools (Guest provide coals)

Fantastic beach getaway

My family and I were in town from New York, and this was the perfect base to explore Monterey Bay. House is extremely clean and beautifully kept up. Great location for Santa Cruz, half moon bay, Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur. Definitely look forward to coming back in the future.

Great property for a family getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the Kennedy beach house! The property worked out great for our family of 6. The layout of the house was comfortable and spacious. The house was nicely-decorated and well-organized inside and out. It was kid-friendly: outlets were covered, and there were not a lot of sharp corners for little heads to ram into. Our kids loved playing in the backyard. The whole property had a "relaxed" feel to it. We opted to drive to the nearby beach instead of walk. It would not have been a 10-minute walk for our family, since our youngest kids are a toddler and a preschooler. The drive only took about 5 minutes, and parking was free with the park pass provided by the owner. We will definitely consider booking this property again, when we return to the Santa Cruz area.

Great place to stay! Nicely decorated, clean, and well stocked with fun things to do - bikes, boogie boards, corn hole, boccie ball, a hammock and a park pass! Also pleasant places outside to just sit and relax.

Great House, Great Location, Great Owner

This was our second time to visit the Santa Cruz area. The beach house was perfect for what we were looking for. Kitchen was great for breakfasts in and grabbing local fish from the "Fish Lady" and having a quiet dinner in. Outdoor space was quiet and private, doors open onto a nice deck from both the kitchen and bedroom. Outdoor space was great for eating breakfast, yoga, and relaxing. Location was perfect. 30 minutes to half a dozen nice wineries, a quick jaunt down to Seaside beach (very quiet on weekdays, great for a sushi and wine sunset dinner on the beach) 5 minutes to the west side of Santa Cruz (some of our favorite restaurants). Kayaking in Elkhorn Slough is a quick 15 minutes away, Monterey and Carmel are an easy 20 to 30 minute drive depending on traffic. Easy access to redwoods and costal hiking west of Santa Cruz. Aptos and Soquel have some great restaurants and coffee shops. Close enough to the tourist areas of Santa Cruz to enjoy them when you want, removed enough to get away when you want. Quiet neighborhood, a pleasant walk to the local Indian restaurant, Mexican restaurant and homemade ice cream. Colm was a great host, very responsive to any and all questions before and during our stay.. Picked up on our "style" and made good recommendations for local restaurants. We plan on returning to this area and will look for this house again.

Beautiful getaway in Aptos

I loved staying in Aptos at this perfectly equipped beach house. The kitchen was a pleasure to use, the backyard was the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee and evening barbecues. Loved having access to the cruiser bikes, and beach toys. Would love to come stay again!
